2. General The Belt Stackers BST6800 and BST6900 are designed as an output device for a range of Booklet Maker systems. The difference is basically that the two models is the length. With the addition of the Belt Stacker BST6800 and BST6900 SDD has expand her product range. The main goal of the Belt Stacker is transporting and collecting booklets for long run production with minimum operator intervention. The Belt Stacker BST6800 and BST6900 are designed to fit to the system as if they were one and is fully modular. This manual specifically includes operation instructions for the BST6800 and BST6900 only. A complete system can consist of the following machines and will be further called in this Manual as follows:
Booklet Maker → BLM Front Trimmer → BLT 2-Side Trimmer → STR Square Fold → SFM

3. Basic information Belt Stacker
See the picture below to get familiar with the components of the Belt Stacker.
The machine in the pictures in this manual can have a different colour or can be mirrored. Due to the mirroring, typical Front and Rear designations which normally are viewed from the operator location has been replaced by Left and Right. Left and Right is viewed from the paper direction.

4.3.1 Connecting BST to SFM
Step Action Remarks
1. Place Belt Stacker BST Place the Belt Stacker behind the SFM and hang it on the Positioning Pins at the rear groove [A].
2. Fasten BST Fasten the BST to the SFM with the delivered M5 screws [B] at the lower side of the infeed of the BST.

1. Place Belt Stacker BST Place the Belt Stacker at the Outfeed-side of the STR and hang it on the Positioning Pins [A] at the rear groove.
2. Fasten BST Fasten the BST to the STR with the delivered M4 Taptite screws [B] at the lower side of the infeed of the BST.

1. Open Top Cover
2. Loosen screw Right Cover Loosen screw [A].
3. Close Top Cover
4. Remove Right Cover Lift the Right Cover [B] and then pull the lower side of the Right Cover towards you. Disconnect grounding wire
5. Placing Communication cable STR
Pull the Communication cable outwards the Infeed and place the cable straight through the opening on the STR side [D].
6. Connecting Communication cable STR
Connect the Communication cable to the STR on J12 [C].

Secure the Connection cable on the Wire strip of the STR by using the delivered tie wraps in the mounting holes [A].

Step Action Remarks
1. Placing Guide Plate Fasten the Guide Plate to the BLT with delivered M5 screws [A] with M5 washer and M5 nut [B] at the outfeed side of the BLT.
Make sure that the Guide Plate is fastened in a horizontal position.

2. Removing rings Remove the rings, which are mounted behind the position pins [C]. Mount the position pins in the upper hole, do not forget fasten the earth cable inside the BLT.

4. Fasten BST Fasten the BST to the BLT with the delivered M4 Taptite screws [A] at the lower side of the Infeed of the BST.

1. Open Top Cover
2. Loosen screws UI Loosen the screws at the back of the UI [A].
3. Lift up UI Lift the UI up so that it is possible to remove Front Cover and fasten the UI in the highest position possible.
4. Remove Front cover Lift the Front cover and then pull the lower side of the Front Cover towards you.

6. Mount the delivered Guide Plate (BLM)
Fasten the Guide Plate (BLM) in the highest position to the BLM with the nut M4 [B] at the Outfeed side of the BLM.
7. Tighten the Guide Plate Tighten the Guide Plate with the nut M4 Inside the BLM.

1. Check securing cable BST Check if the Communication cable is secured at the lower side of the infeed tot the inner mounting holes of the Frame Plate with tie wraps.

4.8 Adjusting Height BST
These screws are carefully tighten by the service technician to insure the correct fixation of the screws.
Step Action Remarks
1. Loosen Upper transmission screws
Loosen the Upper transmission screws [A] on each side of the Upper transmission.
1. Loosen counter sunk screws Loosen the counter sunk screws [B] on each side of the legs.
2. Adjust the height Make sure the height of the Frame plate is water level [C].
3. Tighten counter sunk screws. After checking the height of the frame plate tighten the counter sunk screws [B]

5. Testing installation and tuning
The Mounting Bracket Uppertransmission is equipped with an adjustable spring assembly. The spring assembly reduces the pressure from the Mounting Bracket Uppertransmission on the booklets. Loosen nut [A] and rotate the bolt [B] clockwise to decrease the pressure. Tighten the nut.
