A SACRAMENT YOU CAN TALK TO One great fruit of the Incarnation, God taking on a human nature, was the ability for people to interact with God as easily as they might interact with human beings. A SACRAMENT YOU CAN TALK TO One great fruit of the Incarnation, God taking

on a human nature, was the ability for people

to interact with God as easily as they might

interact with human beings. Jesus ate, and

slept, and spit, and spoke. God, residing in the highest heavens,

comprehending the whole universe in a glance, infinite,

immortal, ineffable, became just one of the guys. Jesus’ Church continues this solid, tangible manifestation of God

through all her activity, but I think she does it most excellently

in the Sacraments.

Now, you can and should spend some time praying

before the peaceful Presence of Jesus in the Blessed

Sacrament, but I think we can all acknowledge that sometimes

that Presence is annoyingly peaceful, irritatingly quiet.

Sometimes we want answers, we want words, we want solid

statements.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation seems to me a

Sacrament created for just such a moment. When you are

weighed down by sin, racked by guilt, fearful of the damage

done to your friendship with God, you can hear the words of

God spoken through the priest: “I absolve from your sins.” That’s it. It’s done, over with. All your sins are totally, tangibly

acknowledged and wiped away. You want to hear the voice of

God speaking to you and for you? Go to the Sacrament of

Reconciliation.

Sincerely in Christ,

Fr. Matthew Crane

Slippery Sidewalks — Please use extra caution at Christ the King in Browerville. We are not allowed to use salt on the new cement for the first year. Grit will be used but isn’t as effective in removing ice.

The Office of Vocations is funded by the Bishop’s Annual Diocesan Appeal. Ask your pastor about its important role in forming Priests for our diocese. The TV Mass is funded by the Annual Diocesan

Appeal. Ask your grandma and grandpa about its important role in bringing Mass to our homebound .

Retirement Fund for Religious — Your generous contribution helps us to care for our retired sisters and enables our younger sisters to continue in active ministry,” writes a religious sister. Your gift to today’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious provides vital support for the retirement needs of senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests. It also helps ensure that younger members can continue the good works of their elders!

Host Families Needed - Open your heart to 10 and 11 year old children from Northern Ireland this summer. Children’s Program of Northern Ireland is looking for Host Families for the Summer of 2015. Children will arrive at the end of June for 5 weeks. If your family are someone you know is interested in hosting please con-tact us for more information. (651) 405-1108 or [email protected]
