DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL, VINDHYANAGAR PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE MONTH OF August2018 CLASSES LKG- II 7 th AUGUST 2018 :33 rd Foundation Day of our school was celebrated with great pomp and show in the Air Conditioned School Auditorium. 32 students from primary wing had put up a very good show with a message “SAVE WATER.” The programme was liked by one and all. 8 th AUGUST 2018 : Marks of Evaluation - I were sent to the parents through SMS. 10 th AUGUST 2018 : Hindi Calligraphy Competition was conducted in which 400 children took part and depicted their writing skill.

Independence Day was celebrated in Primary Wing showcasing our

patriotic fervour. Each class put up a program in the special assembly depicting their love for

their country.

AUGUST 2018: Skill Test of Evaluation- II concluded.

AUGUST 2018: Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in school with great enthusiasm .Each

girl tied Rakhi on the wrists of boys and boys in return gave chocolates to the girls .There

was festive fervour all over and an effort to establish better bonding amongst children was

fulfilled. .

CLASS –LKG

ENGLISH

To improve recognition of letters and their sound. The children enjoyed doing this activity of

matching letters with the pictures.

MATHS

The teacher called out the numbers and the children enjoyed showing those many things. This

helped children internalize face value of each of these numbers.

HINDI

The children enjoyed enacting the story of Peacock and Fox and learnt the moral “Importance

of being happy.”

“Spot the things using flash cards.” The children enjoyed doing this activity to identify ‘O’

Children enjoyed learning „Aa‟and „Ee‟ki matra by playway method.

MATHS

“Search ! Search !What comes after…? what comes before..?”The children enjoyed learning

the concept of before and after numbers by doing this activity.

On the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan children enjoyed making colourful Rakhis. The

children were also made aware of the usage of various things that would help them keep

clean.

7th

August, 2018: - 33rd

Foundation Day of DPS Vindhyanagar was celebrated on 7th

August, 2018 with great pomp and show. Shri A. K. Tewary, ED NTPC Vindhyachal & Pro

–Vice Chairman, DPS Vindhyanagar was the Chief Guest of the occasion. It was presented

wonderfully by the DIPSITES of DPS Vindhyanagar. Each and everything of the programme

was taken care by the teachers and students. The various performances of the students,

welcome song, dance and skit presented by the students were mesmerizing and praised by

one and all present in the audience. The senior students of the school took Student Council

Oath which was presided by Pro Vice Chairman, DPS Vindhyanagar. The programme ended

with the Prize Distribution and address of the Chief Guest.

15th

August, 2018: Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students

and teachers in the school as well as in Ambedkar Stadium, Vindhyanagar. The students

enthralled all the audience with their fabulous Speeches, March Past and Cultural Programme

which was praised by one and all. The best turnout received the award and honour from the

Chief Guest, ED NTPC Vindhyachal.

August, 2018: Inter House Quiz Competition was held for classes III-V. The students

of class III-V participated with great enthusiasm and showed their prowess in this

competition. Jhelum House was adjudged first and Chenab House was adjudged runner-up in

this fabulous Quiz Show. The result of this competition is as given below:-

AUGUST 2018 -MEDHA PRATIYOGITA (NTPC):

NTPC (V) organized Medha Pratiyogita on 5th

Aug, ‟18 and enthusiasts of our school

participated in the written round and fought their fight to victory and added another feather

to the cap of DPS (V). A team qualified for regional round to be organized at VNGR.

FOUNDATION DAY CELEBRATION ( DPSV ):

Amidst the august gathering, the school celebrated its 33rd

FOUNDATION DAY with

much pomp and show. The galaxy of dignitaries present and parents got the opportunity to

view sizzling dances, an amazing journey of DPSV through PPT and an hour of felicitation

ceremony of winners , rank holders, teachers for their service for ten and twenty years etc.

Overall, it was a fabulous day for DPS FAMILY and was extremely appreciated by all

present.

AUGUST 2018-INTER-DPS DANCE COMPETITION ( JAIPUR ):

Our team of graceful dancers participated in the dance competition held at Jaipur titled

„Nrityanjali‟ and performed with extreme potentials and exposed vibrant dancing skills.

Indeed, it was a tough competition between 18 schools but there‟s always a next time.

AUGUST 2018 -- INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS:

As usual August rains tried to hold back Indians from celebrating their INDEPENDENCE

DAY but we here dared to celebrate it with extreme solidarity and the essence of the

unfurled flag evoked patriotic feelings. The presentation of field display by our students at

AMBEDKAR STADIUM was praiseworthy.

AUGUST 2018 -- SWACHHTA PLEDGE:

The entire school took a pledge to keep its surroundings clean and green It was a move by

Swachhta team to bring about awareness of cleanliness of one self, school and its

surroundings.

AUGUST 2018 A TRIBUTE:

DPSV paid floral tribute to our Ex- Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and

prayed for his soul to rest in Peace . His contribution to the Nation shall always be

remembered.

AUGUST 2018 PAINTING COMPETITION CONDUCTED BY NTPC

VINDHYACHAL:

Exotic paintings were made by enthusiasts of DPSV in the competition organized on

Swacchta. The painters anticipate for the results which are due for this month.

th AUGUST 2018 SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ( SANSKRIT )

World Sanskrit Day was well presented by students skill and knowledge of the two topics

was enhanced as the speeches, quiz and ppt‟s went on .The life of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is

greatly inspiring to all and the students left the auditorium with inspiring instances from his

life presented by the House.

Our team of brilliant students appeared in the INTER-DPS quiz hosted by DPS Jaipur,

though they could not bring home the trophy but returned with a lot of experience for their

future. The school salutes the entire team for their efforts.

Aug’18 DPS NATIONAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY FEST 2018

Information technology enthusiasts of DPS(V) overwhelmingly participated in the

IT@CUTTING EDGE 2018 Fest held at DPS (Noida) .Mrs. Revathi Gangahar (PRT

Computer Sceince) teacher accompanied the 6 students who participated in the various events

held.Indeed the students and the teacher got an opportunity to expose their talent amidst 100

schools present there and learn many innovative ideas to work with technology in future.

Each Dipsite paid floral tribute to the Ex-Prime Minister who not only was a phenomenal politician

but a great statesman, innovator and a warm poet also.

21.8.18 : LMC Meeting:

LMC Meeting was held on 10th March headed by Shri. A. K. Tewary, ED, NTPC Vindhyachal &

PVC DPS Vindhyanagar. Issues related to school‟s welfare were discussed and better solutions were

drawn.
