CLASSES LKG – II

5th SEPTEMBER2020: A short virtual celebration, through pre- recorded video was organised for the teachers bythe

students of PW, in which they engaged themselves in unbridled capacity to showerlove,

admiration and respect to their teachers through dance, song, poem recitals, greeting cards

and by conveying regards from their homes.

9th SEPTEMBER2020: Teachers of Primary Wing attended the webinar “Intelligent Backbenchers” by Notebook.

This webinarstressed that the teachers need to be compassionate, kind, who don‟t put down

students rather make connections with the students.It emphasised that the potentials of the

average children should be identified and appreciated and the teachers should make their

class interactive by involving every child in the discussions.

12th SEPTEMBER 2020: Teachers of Primary Wing attended the webinar on “ExaminingExams” by Notebook.

Thiswebinar emphasised that teaching should focus on application of facts and not merely on

stating facts. The webinar stressed that the assessment should also aim at assessing

application of knowledge and conceptual clarity.

16th SEPTEMBER 2020:

Teachers of Primary Wing attended the webinar on “Co-Education” by Notebook. The

webinarmainly focussed on the advantages and importance of co-education. It stressed that

students in co-education should receive education without any discrimination, and should be

provided equal opportunities. It was emphasised thatno preference should be given to any

children based on their gender. They should learn and play together.Some unethical activities

like using abusive language, bullying and chances of distraction were also discussed. For this

they emphasised on having strict school rules.

18th SEPTEMBER 2020: Teachers of Primary Wing attended Webinar on “Towards Holistic and Multidisciplinary”

Education (ShikshakParv) organised by the Ministry of Education.

This session was very informative andfocussed on the holistic and multidisciplinary aspect of

the NEP. It highlightedthat NEP aims to build a knowledge society, as it enhances the

catchment area and no child will be deprived of education.The holistic and multidisciplinary

education would make education more experiential, interesting and integrated.

23rd SEPTEMBER 2020:

Teachers of Primary Wing attended the webinar on “School Transfers”by Notebook.This

webinar focussed on the difficulties that the transfer process has for a child. They also

emphasised that to prepare the children mentally, parents should have a frank and detailed

conversation with them. The parents should address their apprehensions logically so that the

transition is smooth.

SUBJECTWISE ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY

CLASS- LKG Children playfully learnt about the basic shapes by making stepwise drawing of an icecream

and the deadly Corona virus.

CLASS- PREP Children joyfully learnt about plane shapes by making a scenery using paper cut outs of

different shapes.

Children rejoiced doing step wise drawings of a Yacht, an icecream and a parrot

CLASS - I

ENGLISH Children enjoyed doing an activity “Mastering the articles”.

HINDI Children were delighted to do “Show and Tell” activity.

MATHS Children were delighted to do an activity of tens and ones using matchsticks to represent the

number given.

EVS

Children enjoyed learning about the properties of Air by doing different activities.

ART

Children rejoiced drawing and colouring a butterfly and a flower pot.

CLASS II ENGLISH

Students joyfully learnt about Possessive adjectives by doing an activity

HINDI

Childrenenjoyed making a paper boat.

MATHS Students loved doing an activity of Tens and Ones using self made 10 Rupee notes and 1

Rupee coins .

ART Children were over joyed to do step wise drawings of swasthabharatswachhbharat and the

rainbow.

CLASSES III TO V

3rd September, 2020:

The school circulated the circular for four exams IGKO, IEO, NSO and IMO which is going

to be conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). This year due to COVID-19, the

students have directly registered themselves using SOF link. They were quite excited and as

usual many students from classes III-V have registered themselves for the above Olympiads.

14th September, 2020:

Hindi Diwas was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students. Like previous years, this

year also Hindi Department of NTPC Vindhyachal conducted a few online competitions for

classes Prep-XII. The Result of the competition was as give below:

5TH SEPTEMBER 2020- VIRTUAL CELEBRATION OF TEACHERS’ DAY:

Due to the prevailing conditions this year “ Teachers Day “ had to be celebrated virtually.

Our Honorable Principal Sir and students extended their wishes to the entire staff through

cards and quotations, videos of cultural programme were sent to the class groups to mark the

occasion. Members of the DPS Society too extended their blessings to all the teachers .

6Th September 2020- MOTIVATIONAL TALK:

A motivational talk was delivered by Senior RajyogaTeacher B. K. Kiran , zonal co-

ordinator of value education and spirituality of Brahma Kumaris education wing on 6th

September 2020. The theme was „Supreme Teacher and his divine teachings‟. It surely

enriched and filled the teachers with more knowledge of divinity and enabled them to

understand life‟s journey in the service for others.

9TH SEPTEMBER 2020 TO 21ST SEPTEMBER 2020- HALF YEARLY EXAM

CONDUCTED: Just as Periodic Test – 1 was conducted online so also Half Yearly Examination was

conducted through Whats app with proper instructions sent in the groups ahead of the

examination . The entire schedule was well followed and students sent PDF ofanswer scripts

to teachers , in the assigned time. Teachers could check the answer scripts through pen and

PDF app. and send the answer scripts in turn to the students with their marks .Assuredly, the

entire process seemed to be a remarkable achievement of the examination department.

Regular online classes began from 24th September 2020.

Vidhyarthi Vigyan Manthan: Registration to participate in the Mega Nations - Wide Experiment was welcomed by

enthusiasts of the school and a number of students have availed this opportunity to participate

and enhance themselves with scientific knowledge and other valuable skills.

KAMP-KNOWLEDGE AWARENESS MAPPING PLATFORM.

Students availed this opportunity and registered online to participate in this Scientific

National assessment for temperament and aptitude 2020. Students prepare for such

competitions under the guidance of the teachers and the results have been wonderful so far.

HINDI PAKHWADA RESULTS:

NTPC Vindhyachal conducted interesting competition online for students so as to celebrate

Hindi Pakhwada and dipsites participated with zeal. Many were awarded with prizes and

made us all proud.

WEBINARS FOR TEACHERS: CBSE and DPS Society have been organizing a number of workshops for Principals

,Teachers, parents and students on various topics inviting experts for the benefit of one and

all. Our Honorable Principal Sir ,Headmaster, Headmistress and Teachers availed this

opportunity and registered themselves and were a part of the entire session. Undoubtedly,

each session comprised of interesting and enriching lectures by vibrant experts on the topics

such as,Happy Teacher creating Happy Spaces ,Integration of Art in Social Science and

Rotational Dynamics, a few to be named. A list of workshops held in the month of September

is given below:

Each of these topics left a memorable task in the minds of the educators who attended it. The

panel of experienced academicians as Resource persons have always elaborated the topics in

various dimensions and held the interests of the learners who have joined them. Their

presentations with valuable materials, and rich content have always been very effective and

awe- inspiring. Assuredly , they have been extremely beneficial to all who have been a part

of them as they boost our teaching credentials and keep us focussed.

3.9.2020 : To mark the celebration of hindi pakhwada , NTPC organized ' HINDI SAMANYA GYAN

PRATIYOGITA ' through Google form. The circular regarding the same was sent in all the

classes' what's app group to ensure maximum participation.

b. Due to current Corona pandemic SOF informed to conduct all its 4 exams online . lis

provided to register and pay fee.

c. VIDYARTHI VIGYAN MANTHAN : NCERT in collaboration with an NGO led by

eminent scientists introduced first open book science talent search examination for the

students of classes vi to xi . It provided a unique opportunity for registered students to

participate in the Mega nation wide experiment.

5.9.2020 : TEACHER'S DAY: On this auspicious occasion Dr. Radhakrishnan birthday was celebrated virtually . School

released a video using 3D technoogy for floral tribute . Recorded messages and performances

were edited to create a video of 35 minutes and was sent to all the stakeholders and classes'

what's app group.

The messags regarding the great efforts and contribution of teachers during this pandemic ,

received from shri B.P.Khandelwal ( member education , DPS Society )and shri Anurag

Tripathi IRPS Secretary CBSE were sent to all the teachers and classes' what's app groups.

6.9.2020 : ONLINE SEMINAR BY BRAHMKUMARIS: An online seminar by B.K.Shailja, a senior Rajyog and value education teacher was

conducted in which B.K Kiran, zonal coordinator of Value education and Spirituality also

delivered special talk. Students from all the classes attended this online seminar and were

immensely benefitted.

7.9.2020 : SHIKSHAK PARV: CBSE/SECY/2020- The ministry of Education organized virtual shikshak parv about the

theme of national education policy 2020 for principles, teachers, parents and students. Its

program included 2 days conclave, 12 webinars, NEP quiz, etc so that awareness about NEP

could be evoked maasively.

8.9.2020: INTER DPS QUIZ: a) The circular regarding inter DPS quiz 2020 was sent to all the classes' whatsapp group. It

invited two participants from senior group with the theme- India's science and technology.

b) PM INDIA: Registration link regarding PM Samvad on 9th with M.P Urban PM

SWANIDHI was shared with all the teachers so that their participation could be ensured.

9.9.2020: KAMP: To motivate and strengthen the scientific temper in students, National Science Community

KAMP-NASTA-2020 informed about its competetion this year also. This biggest assessment

for scientific temper for the students of class 5-12 provides opportunity for larger

participation. MR S.K Patnaik was made coordinator to streamline the students.

10.9.20: CONDUCTION OF PRACTICALS DURING LOCKDOWN PERIOD: CBSE/DIR/(ACAD)/2020, circular no.: Acad- 65/2020 informed the school to follow the

alternative calendar developed by NCERT and adopt the measures and guidelines given in

OLabs regarding conduction of practical work. OLabs developed jointly by the Ministry of

Electronics and Telecommunication, Govt of India, CDAC and Amrita university to facilitate

a virtual experience of CBSE syllabus alligned experiments for classes 9-12 is free for school

on registration.

WORKSHOP BY NTPC FOR PRINCIPALS: NTPC HR Dept. conducted a workshop for all the principals of its townships‟schools from

15th to 18th September enriching them to officiate more effectively.

25.09.2020: WEBINAR FOR CLASSES 9 – 10: NTPC Vindhyachal organized a career counselling webinar for classes 9-10. The session was

taken by renowned career counseller Mr. Jitin Chawla. The webinar was attended by all the

students which provided them with a new dynamic picture about different career shaping

options.

26.09.2020 : WEBINAR FOR CLASSES 11 -12: Another Career counselling webinar was organized by NTPC vindhyachal in which the

session was taken by Mr. Jitin Chawla, elaborating all the possible career shaping options. It

unveiled several other options which exposed the students to approach their career beyond

the fence.

28.09.2020: ONLINE QUIZ ON M.P TOURISM: On the occasion pf world tourism day M.P Govt organized an online quiz competition which

invited students from classes 9-12. The event was conducted from 27th sep to 30th sept.

29.09.2020: TEACHERS' RESOURCE BY CBSE: With the aim to begin working towards the objectives of national education policy 2020,

CBSE shared Teachers' Resource for Achieving Learning Outcomes with the school. The

document provides a mapping for each chapter of all core subjects from class 1-10.

30.09.2020: ED TECH YOUTH CHALLENGE INDIA 20-2021: CBSE Circular No.: ACAD-71/2020 provided details about the IBM Ed Tech youth

challenge. This gives an opportunity to students to work with experts from IBM about

sustainable climate and disaster issues with the help of Artificial Intelligence. This seven

levelled competition opened its level-1 from 22.09.2020 onwards.
