On behalf of the ASTRA programme, I would like to invite you to attend a face-to-face meeting of ASTRA, to be held at
the University of York, UK from 22nd to 24th January 2020.
ASTRA is funded by the UK’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), and involves a partnership between five UK
Universities and six institutions in South Asia. It also incorporates input from stakeholders such as Cancer Research UK,
The Union, WHO Geneva, SEARO and The National Cancer Institute, USA (NIH). ASTRA is co-ordinated by the University
of York, UK. The aim of the programme is to reduce tobacco-related harm in South Asian countries.
NICPR is a member of the ASTRA consortium and as Director of NICPR it is very important that you attend the ASTRA
meeting. Your input and expertise are crucial to the success of the ASTRA programme.
Your travel and accommodation expenses for attending this meeting will be met from ASTRA funds already allocated to
NICPR, as discussed.
