The colours used on the bottle itself are shades of red and green. The designerwishes to create a more harmonious colour scheme on the bottle and decides tochange the red shade to another colour.

(f) State a tertiary colour the designer should try instead of red.

The ‘Jump’ promotion will be published in a magazine and caring for theenvironment is important to the magazine publisher.

(g) State two ways in which the publisher can reduce the magazine’s impacton the environment.

Using DTP software to produce a magazine brings many benefits to the publishingindustry and its workforce.

(h) State one benefit that DTP has brought to the publishing industry (otherthan environmental benefits).

6. Use the three layouts in the Question 6 supplement provided to answer thisquestion.

Three promotional layouts for “One Stop Kit Shop”, a cycling accessorieschain, are shown.

The layouts are aimed at three different target markets and will bedisplayed in three different magazines.

Target market layout 1: (45—65 years) male and female, leisure cycling,working and retired singles and couples, grown-upfamilies, TV influences: gardening and travelshows

Target market layout 2: (25—45 years) male and female, working, keencyclists, adventure cycling, young families or nofamily commitments, TV influences: sport and TopGear

Target market layout 3: (15—25 years) predominantly male, seriousadventure and mountain biking, single,independent, TV influences: reality shows, indieand grunge music

The graphic designer has used a range of design elements and principles ineach of the three layouts to appeal to the different target markets.
