The risks without EMISE system :
Cut off the electrical circuit is not enough
to ensure the workers’ safety when a pho-
tovoltaic power system has to be main-
tained. No worry between the power grid
and the DC/AC converters. On the other
hand, between the converters and the PV
modules, the voltage can reach several
hundred volts. During the day, the PV panels
continue to generate power in DC voltage to the DC / AC
converters.
High voltage DC is a major risk of electrical shock. However
in case of Þ re, the work of the Þ re department can be extremely
riskly and even compromised.
In case of accident, the stakeholders involved in the project
( designer, manufacturer, contractor ) will be held liable.
Integrated model : PV panel manufacturer’s Warranty.
Remote model : 10-year Warranty in a mild climate, under normal weather conditions, with a correctly-made
professional installation.

The EMISE system: absolutely fail-safe
• Each photovoltaic module is equipped
with an EMISE case
• Each EMan ( Early Manager ) case controls
a large number of EMISE and conse-
quently a large number of panels. It may
optionally be equipped with a disconnecting
switch and a DC surge arrester.
EMISE case totally controls the production of each individual
PV panel.
If no signal is received from the EMan cabinet, the EMISE
case simply stops the production of the group of panels.
EMISE case cuts off the voltage and current from this part of
the installation and makes it safe.
Switching on the DC voltage to the installation will be allowed
when the 3 following conditions are simultaneously fulÞ lled:
• Correct reception of the signal from the EMan cabinet,
• Connection to the power grid,
• The network cabling has a good electrical continuity.
The DC voltage and current to the installation is switch off
if one of the 3 conditions is not fulÞ lled. That event, due to
a fail-safe system, the PV panels inside the corresponding
network would remain idle.
The ignition signal is transmitted by a powerline carrier technology
via the existing cables, avoiding any supplementary cables.
Whatever the number of PV panels connected, the EMISE
system prevents any residual voltage and current. Augier’s
safety solution thus prevents any risk of electrical shock or
Þ re caused by the voltage generated by the panels, and simpliÞ es
engineering design.

Connected directly to the PV panel by
the manufacturers ( up on request ).
This is THE absolute safety solution.

REMOTE
As there are many photovoltaic installations
with no safety function and they NEED
one. Augier has developed an EMISE
case which is connected to each existing
PV panel with a limited additionnal
cabling.
