The project aimed at creating an efficient and economical leaf gathering and disintegrating disposal machine, adapted for reusing and recycling dead leaves and then distributing the finely reduced product to produce organic fertilizer.

IDEATION
The idea is to integrate the shredding and collecting unit into one single unit making the machine lighter, more compact and cost effective.

Wag n Wash is a dog grooming parlour in Koregoan Park, Pune. After a visit to the parlour, an evident problem was the way in which dog hair was disposed off. The dustbin being really small was enough to contain the waste of only one grooming session and had to be emptied after every sitting.
Redesigning it in a way that it would contain larger quantity of waste by applying the phenomenon of compression was the initial scope observed.
The product designed is a dustbin cum storage tray which effectively compresses the waste enabling it to store more waste at once, and also takes care of the space contraints.

COMPONENTS :
1. Tray: For storage.
2. Hollow pipe with a disc: - provides a base to hold the tray- hollow pipe channels the waste- disc compresses the waste
3. Container: - Hinged lid- Bin for storage of waste
4. Outlet: For maintenance
WORKING:
The hollow pipe channels the waste to the container. The disc attached to the hollow pipe compresses the dog hair. The circumference of the disc is lined with bristles so that any dog hair that is stuck to the walls of the bin gets brushed off. The outlet at the bottom can be used to empty the bin. The lid is hinged to the container to enable the separation of the com-ponents (for maintenance). Keeping in mind the space constraint, the upper portion of the hollow pipe is used as a storage tray.

ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The All Corner Mop makes it easier to clean difficult locations of your floor. The mop conveniently gets under furniture and behind tricky cornersa around your house

PROBLEMS?

The shape of the mop base is altered so that difficult spots canbe maneuvered into.
Pivoting arms, connected to thebase with torsion springs are shaped such that contact with the leg of a piece of furniturewill cause the arms to ‘hug’ the legand clean up behind it.
The mop handle splits off it’s rigid straight form and it’s front member fits into a trough provided on the base. This facilitates getting under furniture with low ground clearance easily.

FINAL CONCEPT EXPLODED VIEW
The All corner mop combines features of the two tested prototypes. The shape pf the base helps get behind tricky corners, while the handle breaks midway in a way which increases the ease of cleaning below low furniture.
