About This Study Guide

This study guide has been carefully written to help you, the student, extract and retain as much information from the course as possible. In this guide you will find the instructor’s main points throughout the teachings. In providing the main points, our goal is to give you more freedom to write down revelations, questions and impressions that you have during the learning process. You will see there are blanks to fill in. This is to help you maintain focus as the course progresses. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of the course: 1. These notes are only a starting point. There are lots of “nuggets”

throughout the teachings that are not in the notes. 2. Scripture is quoted without the emphasized portions marked. This is

to allow you to comment, underline and circle content yourself while you go through the material. We also encourage you to go back and look up the Scriptures on your own to solidify the concepts. If you can make time, the ultimate step is to write the Scriptures and corresponding notes by hand in your journal.

3. In lists that are given, it is a good idea to re-write the list, even though they are shown in this manual. Hearing, then writing provides much better retention than hearing alone.

4. If you miss one of the blanks, simply rewind the teaching a few minutes. The best way to learn this material is to listen to it the first time, filling in the blanks. Listen again a second time, adding your own thoughts and notes. You will develop a system that works best for you.

5. Be an active thinker. Ask and allow the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom regarding the material as it is presented. We would enjoy hearing about revelations you receive as you progress through this life-changing class.

Course 1 – Exercises for Mind Renewal

Throughout the courses, we will list various exercises that will help you to renew your mind to the Word of God. These are not assessed/graded, but very helpful. Do them daily or as often as you can. Remember that habits are formed in 21 days, and developing an appetite for the things of God may require a time of intense discipline, of forcing yourself to do more than you normally would. We urge you to keep a journal to record your thoughts, study notes and revelations as you progress through the courses. Remember, what you get out of this course is dependent on your commitment to ‘do the Word of God.

Bible Reading

Select one of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) and read through it. Pay careful attention to each instance of healing or deliverance, and how Jesus handled each situation.

1. What did He say? 2. How was it done? 3. What were the circumstances surrounding each situation and

what was the result?

Declarations/Confessions

The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Speaking God’s Word and His truths aloud will make a large impact on your life, moving your mind toward being fully renewed. Each day, say out loud with a bold voice what the Scripture says about divine healing. These are listed on the following page or in the IDHT manual that you received. If you would like to know the Scriptures that back each one up, refer to the IDHT manual. After a while, you may want to personalize the statements, replacing “We” with “I.”

What We Believe about Divine Healing

1. We believe that divine healing is the right and responsibility of every Christian.

2. We believe that any hindrance to the healing of any Christian is not of God.

3. We believe that God is not our problem, but rather that He is our help.

4. We believe that any hindrance to healing is on the part of the enemy.

5. We believe that any sickness or disease can be overcome by a Christian if the Christian will exercise faith and power.

6. We believe that the enemy is not a serious hindrance and can be overcome by any Christian using the available tools and weapons provided by God.

7. We believe that the enemy can only be truly defeated by spiritual weapons and not by carnal/natural weapons devised by man.

8. We believe that Christians and non-Christians, without faith for healing, can be healed when Christians exercise kingdom authority.

9. We believe that all sickness and disease is a work of the enemy and is to be defeated whenever and wherever it is encountered.

God’s Word, Will and Work Man’s Dominion Who You Are In Jesus

Note: There is a DHT manual that corresponds with this DBI course. It is mentioned periodically. The page numbers that are referenced are different in the DHT manual you received from the one that is referenced in the teaching. For ease of use, much of the DHT information that is referenced is also repeated in this study guide.

If you do it, it wi l l work.

A per fect God flows through imper fect people.

The results you will be getting will be determined by how focused, single-minded and aggressive you get.

God’s Word, Will and Work

If you are doing God’s work, noth ing should stop you.

It is not God’s will that any should perish.

God’s will is the final word.

Psalm 119 - 89For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. 90Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. 91They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants. 92Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. 93I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me. 94I am thine, save me: for I have sought thy precepts. 95The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies. 96I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad. 97O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

God’s word is settled in heaven but we must settle it on the earth.

Man’s Dominion

Genesis 1 - 20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. 21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. 23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day. 24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. 25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 26And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

God intended man to have domin ion .

That was man’s only job description.

Man was not to have dominion over other people.

Greatness is se rv ing .

Genesis 1:26 – Man’s job description extended to this earth and environment.

Jesus was the last Adam .

Who you are in Jesus

He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with the Lord.

Jesus said that we would do the same works as He and greater works.

Walk as a son . The Holy Spirit will help you do it.

Jesus healed them al l . The disciples healed them al l . We should

heal them al l .

Isaiah 9 - 1Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. 2The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. 3Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. 4For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. 5For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. 6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Oppressor = dev i l and his children.

Jesus had the government on his shoulder, Not church o r re l ig ion on his shoulder.

I was made a king. I was born a king.

I need to grow up in Christ and into Christ.

How you should talk to people

• You should not preach a standard of God that makes people give up.

• You are going to be people who bring hope to the people who think it’s hopeless.

• You will be able to undo what religion has done to people.

Religion

Sp i r i tua l disciplines should be self imposed.

I t i s Lega l i sm to impose standards that are not in the Bible.

Sometimes the greatest act of faith is to leave a group.

Sin versus Righteousness Consciousness Who We Are/Our Dominion

Q/A

Explain why people fall out in the Spirit when you pray and/or lay hands on them. Is it necessary?

It can be rea l or psychosomat ic (man-oriented).

If they fall before you touch them it may be a demon .

The number of people falling down has nothing to do with how powerful that ministry was.

“The Latent Power of the Soul” by Watchman Nee is a good book on this subject. Note that Watchman Nee’s writings at times promote sin consciousness, and we are to have a righteousness consciousness.

Sin vs Righteousness Consciousness

What you give yourself to, you become .

You can walk in a righteousness consciousness, knowing that you have been made righteous by Jesus.

Sin consciousness is really an Old Testament state because in the Old Testament, the sins were always there. They were atoned for but never gone. With us, sins are remitted, gone.

If you develop a righteousness consciousness, you will be able to

repent on a d ime .

People who have a sin consciousness will agonize over their sin for

hour s , days , months

A Righteousness conscious makes it easier for the power of God to flow through you.

Sometimes it’s harder to repent to a person than to God because God instantly forgives a repentant heart. Oftentimes people want you to do penance.

Righteousness consciousness – you need to develop it – this is a key point

The Book, “Two Kinds of Righteousness” by EW Kenyon, is truly the most important message delivered to the church.

Who We Are/Our Dominion

Jesus

Your lineage and access to the Father is through Jesus.

Every blessing comes through Jesus. He is the head of the church.

Jesus is the prophet, the pr ies t and the k ing . We are made priests and kings.

Animals

Your author i t y is not limited. You have author i t y over animals (Genesis 1:27).

Example: Jesus and the great catch. (He displayed dominion over the fish of the sea)

Jesus as a man on this earth

The Bible says in Philippians 2: 5-11, he experienced the kenosis of Christ.

Meaning: He empt ied h imsel f of everything that made him God. He operated as a man anointed by the Spirit of God.

Luke 4 – 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

• If He did the things He did as God then He would not need to be anointed to do them. He emptied Himself of everything that separated Him from humanity, and operated as a human whom the Spirit of God was upon.

• If He did the things He did as God, we couldn’t do them. But if He did them as a man anointed by the Spirit then the same works He did, we can do also.

• We do greater works because we fight a defeated enemy.

• Jesus did nothing that He had not already told the disciples that they could do.

• Jesus needed to be anointed to walk in power because He was acting as a man and man (Adam) had fallen. If man hadn’t fallen, he would not need the anointing of God to do the things that Jesus did.

God’s plan for man to have dominion has never changed (Genesis 1:26). What we see in Jesus is God restoring to man that dominion.

Man has a sense of dominion.

Man built rockets, planes, submarines and ships to cross the sea. God’s way is that you walk across it.

• You can speak to a tree, and it will obey you. • First water miracles: In the Old Testament, the Red Sea parted so

they could pass through. Jordan River parted so priests could walk through.

• In the New Testament, you see man walking on water. How did

Jesus and Peter walk on water? By his fa i th that he stepped out. When Jesus put his foot on the water, His faith did not change Him, it changed the water.

• The minute Peter focused on the water instead of Jesus, it stopped working. We think we have to focus on what we’re doing.

When you’re trying to do something spiritual and your mind is involved, it locks up and nothing can flow through it.

Ephesians 3:20 - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

The power that is working in me is working in my sp i r i t , but it has

to flow through my mind .

Renew your mind so that your mind works wi th your sp i r i t rather than against it.

To the degree that your mind is renewed, the faster

reve lat ion knowledge of the Word comes.

Genesis 1 - 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

If you take cancer and put it under a microscope, you can see that

it is l i v ing .

You have dominion over living things. You can speak to bacteria, viruses or cancer and tell it to die.

Legally, we have the right to exert Jesus ’ domin ion . It is not my authority I am exerting. It has nothing to do with us.

I am dead. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me.

Science and The Spirit Demonic – Has versus Possessed of Leadings The Christian’s Position

Q/A Can cancer have life?

The nature/essence of any sickness or disease is death , but there is a life that feeds it.

Anything that grows has life. Living things can be killed.

Death means separated from God.

When the spirit is separated from the body, the body dies.

Religion

Religion has an “ism” at the end of it. Catholicism, Pentecostalism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Confucianism, Mohammadism, Judaism

Christianity is not a religion; it’s a re la t ionsh ip .

Christianity is only a religion when you break it down/categorize it into denominations and start identifying who you “fit in” with.

Science & the Spirit

Science is the discovery of how God does things.

Science has proved that energy can’t be destroyed. It only changes shape and manifests in different forms.

Human spirit is pure energy .

Righteousness – purely good Unrighteousness – purely bad

When you die, your spirit will go to the place that is most like your spirit.

Mediums are channeling a familiar spirit that knew the person.

As you move toward or away from God, you are giving one side

more i n f luence

“Filled” (i.e., “filled with the Spirit”) – to be controlled,

i n f luenced by.

Demonic - Has vs. Possessed Of

Jesus is the Word made flesh. Someone called, “the Word,” would have a great command of language. Jesus spoke exactly what He meant.

• Any time a word is used, we need to know why it’s used that way.

Person possessed of a devil – devil controls and influences, because

of a conscious cho ice the person made to go into sin

Every sin you do consistently rewi res your b ra in so you think that way. Even when you’re not doing the sin, you’re thinking of the sin, giving the devil more control over you.

Person “has a devil.” Before you were born again, you were led by the nature and character of the devil.

The key: By these precious promises, we become partakers of His divine nature.

• We find out what nature is born in us • We have our mind renewed to that nature • We start living out that nature. We are led by the nature of God.

Leadings

Special leadings have to come in when we are not automatically doing “by nature” what we should be doing.

Don’t get hung up on making sure you’re being led .

The essence of Christianity is to get you off your mind

Get God and my fe l low man on your mind.

As you think about getting a leading, you’re not focused on God or

your fellow man, you are focusing on your se l f .

Paul was go ing THEN got a special leading

The Christian’s Position

Psalm 8 – 1O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens. 2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. 3When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; 4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? 5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet: 7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; 8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas. 9O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Angel – elohim – gods. “You made him a little lower than God.”

Echad/ichad – not one in number, but one in i n un i t y .

Dominion over the works of thy hands – God made everything.

Psalm 8 is like a Commentary on Genes i s 1 .

Hebrews 1 - 1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Jesus supersedes all things spoken before

Hebrews 1 - 3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

In this verse, “Person” in the Greek = character (not just His actions)

Jesus is the expressed physical representation of the total character and nature of God.

“By himself” – only Jesus can purge my sins. No one else.

Our Inheritance Through Jesus

Hebrews 1 - 3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: 4Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 5For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6And again, when he bringeth in the first begotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Jesus received everything by inheritance – family connection

Jesus is above the angel s . Angel s worship someone above them, not below them.

Hebrews 1 -7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 8But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 9Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. 10And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Hebrews 2 - 1Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. 2For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto

us by them that heard him; 4God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? 5For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. 6But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him? 7Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: 8Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

Hebrews 2 - 9But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. 10For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Angels are not going to be rulers in world to come.

(verse 8) Positional vs. Experiential. God deals with pos i t iona l .

We deal with exper ient ia l .

Jesus received a greater name by inheritance. Man was made to have dominion. Jesus fulfilled everything, suffered death, and restored man to his original position.

Jesus is a resu r rected man seated next to the Father.

Ephesians 4 - 7But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. 8Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men 9(Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of

the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

(verse 7) He gave us the measure of grace based on the measure of the gift of Christ Jesus – not different measures.

(verse 11) Biblically, it is 4 fold, not 5 fold, “Pastors who teach.” So if you can’t teach, you can’t pastor.

Preaching inspires, encourages, motivates. Teaching trains, equips and informs. We need more teachers!

(verses 12-13) How long will we have the 4 ministries? Until we have the full experiential, precise knowledge, (Wuest says, “full-orbed knowledge”). No gaps, dips, potholes.

The purpose of the 4 fold ministry is to grow us up unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

You don’t need a man to teach you, but they can get us to truth years earlier.

We should stand on each other’s shoulders and su rpass what the last generation did.

(verse 14) A spiritual ch i ld is carried about by every wind of doctrine.

(verse 15) “All things” – nature, character, power, wisdom, knowledge, understanding

Positional is what God expects. Our job is to go from where we are

to what God says.

1 John 3 - 1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Our destiny is to grow up i n to h im and be like Him before He appears

When He appears, corruption will put on incorruption, mortality put on immortality.

Romans 16 - 20And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Even the little toe is going to bruise satan because we are the body of Christ.

Romans 14 - 11For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Jesus was manifested to

• Dest roy the works of the devil (and we get saved). • Show how we should live as people of God.

• He died and pay the pr ice so that the Spirit of God can live in us.

Galatians 3 - 13Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 15Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto. 16Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. 21Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. 22But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 23But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

God was not talking to the Jewish race. He was talking to Jesus through Abraham.

God gave Abraham a promise and added the law later.

The Law was a “parenthesis” in God’s dealings with man. It had a beginning and an end.

Jesus fulfilled the covenant.

The law is gone. It was in effect until the seed came (Jesus)

When you l ove God and l ove man (people) – you will keep the law

Galatians 4 - 1Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: 4But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. 8Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. 9But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.

Jesus Christ is Lord of all. Don’t separate yourself from Him.

As long as you separate yourself, the moment you meet

res i s tance , you’ll doubt.

If you meet res i s tance , it is not God. You kick in the door.

You get “not touched” because you walk in the principles of the truth of the Word of God.

You are a son, an heir through Christ

I am God’s son , the devil’s master , and man’s se rvant .

Atonement and Remission God is Faithful Healing and Salvation Positional versus Experiential

Atonement & Remission

We have Remission, Forgiveness, and Redemption of sins

Atonement – strictly an Old Tes tament word which does not apply to us as New Testament Christians.

Atonement means to cover . It pushed sins back another year.

The correct terminology is “Healing in Redempt ion or

Healing through Jesus ’ Sacr i f ice “

• It means that they were paid for and removed • Blood of Jesus changed me and made me a new creation.

• My sins are remitted and I am made one with God.

Old sins do not affect your spirit. They may be affecting your mind if it is not renewed.

Psalm 103 - 1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. 6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel. 8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. 9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. 10He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

Ties God’s mercy/compassion with healing and forgiveness.

It’s not what I do to get healing; it’s what God did .

(v. 10) No Generational Curses.

Biblical Principle: God is not a respecter of persons. What God does

for one He’ll do for al l .

When ministering healing to a sick, injured or handicapped person

• Don’t get stories from people. A person with power doesn’t have to dig for details.

• A person with power just blasts. • The right words for getting the devil out: “devil, go” • If you’re going to rise to levels you’ve never been at, you’re

going to have to do and bel ieve things that you have never done or believed.

THINK about what you watch on TV and how it is affecting your faith.

Example/Comparison: Thinking that epilepsy was caused by a chemical/brain problem is like saying that footprints in the snow were caused by some problem/characteristic of the snow. The truth is that the footprints are the evidence that someone was there. Epilepsy is pretty much always caused by a demon that causes the reaction.

God does not keep people sick to keep them from s inn ing . If that was the case, everyone who sinned would have something

physically wrong with them. He is not a respecter of

persons ! God is a constant.

God is Faithful

Example: The sun. It’s hot, it shines, and it always does its job, even at night. When we have bad weather conditions, it is never the sun’s fault. God’s power is always present, like the sun. {Describe how this example relates to healing}:

I f G o d ha s ev e r do ne so m et h i n g , He ’ l l do i t a g a i n . I f so m e o n e h a s n’ t p u t t hem s e l ve s i n a po s i t i o n t o r ec e i v e i t , t hey m a y no t se e h e a l i ng m a n i f e s t . Th ey m u s t p o s i t i o n t hem s e l v e s… ……

(Heb 11) Heroes of the Bible. Bible does not hide their faults.

Bible shows greatness and dependabi l i t y of God.

Elijah had 16 miracles. Elisha wanted double, but got 31 miracles then died.

When they were burying a man, they put him in Elisha’s tomb. When he touched Elisha’s body he came to life.

It’s a story about the fa i th fu lness of God, not the anointing.

Healing and Salvation

Psalm 103 - Don’t let one benefit slip. Use them all.

Salvation – forgiveness of sins, healing, prosperity, protection

Healing is salvation of the body .

If you took salvation and cut it like a pie, healing would be one of the slices.

Healing and salvation are one .

Other parts of salvation: prosperity, protection from injury, protection from sickness (divine health)

God doesn’t do anything half way. He tries to do it in fullness

Jesus paid for your healing at the whipping post, not on the cross.

Positional & Experiential (Ps. 103:3, 6)

Look at everything from two points: positional & experiential

Positional – God provides - It’s already done.

Experiential – Where I ’m walk ing - I need to bring experiential to positional.

Pos i t iona l is who I truly am.

Exper ient ia l is what I do in my life to line up with the positional where God has placed me.

Healing

Standard of divine healing is 100% success, then we push for 100% instant.

Do follow up with people.

Push for instant manifestation when you minister in the marketplace.

(Mk 16) The Bible says that believers lay hands on the sick and they shall recover. “Recover” denotes that it could be a process.

Healing is a sign for the unbel iever . If not instant, it has to happen very quickly.

• The boy began to amend from that hour. (progressive) • 10 lepers as they went, they were healed. (progressive)

Faith is not an att i tude , but faith will cause an att i tude

Renewed mind - I see it because I bel ieve it

Carnal mind - I will bel ieve it when I see it

Faith will keep working in that person until they are healed or until you pull your faith back. DON’T pull your faith back.

Do your job and leave the rest up to God

• Approach it as if it all depends on you. Be serious, be aggressive. • Pray and act like it is all you. • Believe and let go because it is all God. • We are co-laborers.

Jesus’ Stripes Paid for Our Healing Nasa and Sabal

T.J. McCrossan, “Bodily Healing in the Atonement,” Physical Healing through Jesus’ sacrifice. A must-read for every Christian.

FF Bosworth, “Christ the Healer,” has a lot of good material but at the end, discusses why you might not get healed. It is worth reading, though.

Jesus’ Stripes Paid for Our Healing

He sets the oppres sed free. Healing was already paid for.

Jesus was the express or exact representation of God’s nature and character .

Jesus never failed to heal anyone, He never turned anyone away

beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Everything Jesus did after the Garden of Gethsemane was for us, not Him.

Arm of Lord = power of God.

The power of God is revealed in a person who bel ieves the report of God.

Jesus paid for everyone’s sins, for every person that has ever l i ved , and every person that sha l l l i ve . All sins are paid for.

Just because every person’s sins are paid for does not mean they are saved.

To be saved, you must repent and turn to God, and make him Lord of your life.

Jesus is the Savior of all mankind, but not everyone has made him

Lord

7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall

prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Nasa & Sabal - Isaiah 53

• 4Surely he hath borne (nasa, “Nah-saw”) our griefs, and carried (sabal, “huh-ball”) our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

• 11He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear (sabal) their iniquities.

• 12Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he (Jesus) shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare (nasa) the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

• Nasa and Sabal are Hebrew words that mean the same thing.

“To bear something as a punishment for another person, so that the other person does not have to bear it.” In someone else’s place.

Matthew 8 - 16When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Matthew 8 is God’s commentary on I sa iah 53 .

• KJV didn’t use words consistently. • John G. Lake’s message was, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

• We should minister healing anywhere we go.

Isaiah 53:11-12

Sabal - iniquities and Nasa - sin so that we don’t have to.

The same words are used for sin and sickness.

Whatever he did with our s ins , he did with our s icknesses and in f i rmi t ies .

You are either saved and healed OR you are nei ther saved nor healed.

Matthew 8:16-17

If he did not heal them all, he would not have fulfilled Isaiah 53.

That means Isaiah 53 refers to everyone’s healing.

1 Peter 2 - 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

“Are Healed” versus “Were Healed” Healing in the Bible

“Are Healed” versus “Were Healed”

Allowing sickness to remain, in a way, is denying the work of Christ.

Pos i t iona l – God decreed your healing and freedom.

You get there (Experiential) by knowing truth and heading in that direction.

• Isaiah 53:5 – by his stripes you are healed

• 1 Peter 2:24 – by whose stripes you were healed

o Many would argue that this verse is referring to sin and spiritual healing.

o The context is not sin. They are not talking about spiritual healing

Peter is so used to tying the two together (seeing them as connected) that he mentions healing with salvation???

• In both Scriptures, the word “Healed” is Hebrew, iaomai (say “ē-ä'-o-mī”) – Every time used in Scripture, it is referring to a

phys ica l heal ing , restoration. Never used for spiritual healing.

Septuagint (say “Sep-ta-gint”) - Greek translation of Old Testament.

• The people spoke 3-4 languages.

Latin – Roman Greek – Alexander the Great Hebrew people spoke Aramaic and Chaldean Language used for writing was Greek. Lamsa NT translation gives insight into certain wording.

• What OT was translated into Greek, word for “healed” in Isa 53:5 was translated into the same word in 1 Pet 2:24.

Jesus never healed your spirit. The spirit is dead. You don’t heal the spirit, you resurrect it.

Common, but Incorrect statements about Jesus’ stripes

• Jesus did not receive 39 lashing/stripes • 39 stripes is not the number of disease categories.

Do not quote things that you hear in church. Verify everything that you hear first with Scripture and with the appropriate field (legal, medical)

Healing in the Bible

In the Bible, healing is in every book

• First Hea l ing = Abimelech’s wife to bear children (Genesis 17). Pagan, heathen king.

• Last person healed by Jesus before the cross was Malchus . Peter had cut his ear off. He was a high priest’s servant.

The only way we are ever told we are healed is by Jesus’ stripes. Legal standing. There are a myriad of methods (laying hands, etc.)

Isa 53 = present (somewhat future) tense, 1 Peter 2:24 = past tense.

Jesus’ stripes and the cross are separate events. Don’t try to connect healing with salvation

Church has tied sin to not being healed.

Healing is now past tense. If you were healed then you are healed.

When we get a service/goods before we pay for them, that’s called Trust/credit/good faith. Before Jesus bore the stripes, all healing was on credit. God trusted Jesus to pay for it at a later time.

No mention of fa i th any time Jesus healed without being asked to.

Your attitude changes when something’s paid for. Your healing is paid for.

My fa i th is in God and what He said.

When a person proves himself trustworthy, it’s not hard to have faith in them.

Faith is directed toward an object.

Hebrews 11 - 11Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Faith is judging God faithful to keep His promises .

Sarah and Rahab. These 2 marked the spectrum.

• Sarah =fa i th fu l woman of God (she judged God faithful in what He said).

• Rahab = har lot In the Bible God used extremes – almost everyone in the world falls between them

When we judge God faithful, He considers that faith.

Rest ing in God is real faith. Learn to stand on the Word. The fight of faith is to rest.

The reality that I am healed by His stripes is more real than a doctor’s report.

The Bible has to be more real than what you see or they feel.

Blood Covenant Renewing the Mind

Q/A Can you think you are in faith and not be?

Witchcraft is out of the sou l .

It uses an unrenewed natural mind.

You are putting forth your authority as a human .

Hebrews 1 - 1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Old Covenant Heb 1:1

New Covenant Heb 1:2

We’re in the new covenant. Better covenant, better promises. Promise of the abiding spirit of God.

You get into this new covenant by being born again .

Abraham and Old Testament saints had a covenant .

• Covenant - ongoing relationship, contract, agreement with God

• In New Testament we don’t technically have a covenant with God

• I have an agreement with Jesus . I made him Lord.

We didn’t go to God to make an agreement, so we can’t break it.

God made an agreement/covenant with Jesus through Abraham (Jesus’ forefather).

Blood Covenant

The strongest covenant was a blood covenant.

Everything I have is yours and everything you have is mine.

Person can only violate covenant if they’re al ive .

My relationship with God is based on what Christ did

Jesus was the first person to perfectly fulfill the covenant without

break ing it.

He died without having broken the covenant.

Therefore there is now no cur se on us because the only person

there can be a curse on is the one who makes the covenant and who breaks it.

You get all the benefits because you are a jo int heir with Jesus

What Jesus can get from the Father, I can also have.

When you come into the family, everything the family has is yours.

You have been adopted . You have the right to use His name.

Jesus is the sole heir, and we are in Him.

When you use the name of Jesus, you are banking on everything He did.

2 Corinthians 5:13 - 13For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

He died for me so I can l i ve for Him.

Gospels only have 3 types of people: s ick person ,

di sc ip les , Jesus .

The only person that I am like/identify with (from the Bible) is Jesus.

As the Spirit of God f lows , it drives out sickness and disease.

Jesus never dealt with a Chr i s t ian before He died.

Jesus never questioned if He had enough faith. He never questioned people about their faith before meeting their needs.

The disciples did everything they did by the authority of the name of Jesus

How to get this knowledge to function in us:

• Read the B ib le , get thinking right

• Whatever you learn, begin doing i t . • Don’t try to learn everything first before you do it. Practice it. • Part of the growth process is resistance. • At some point, you have to grit your teeth, keep pushing and

press on through!

• Don’t s top until you get the answer that is promised.

2 Corinthians 5 - 16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

New creature = New species of being that never existed before.

Elijah didn’t have what you had. It was upon him. It’s i n you .

All things are become new – in your spirit, not body/flesh or mind (yet)

Renewing the Mind

Romans 12:1 - 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

You are transformed one way — by the renewing of your m ind to the Word of God.

1 Cor 2:16 - 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.

Renewal of the mind is a key to a changed life.

Take Scripture and act on it until it is natural for you to do it.

Getting the Power of God to Flow Through You

Power does not come from fasting. Power comes from Holy Ghost .

Fasting and prayer help you die.

The more dead you are the more the power of God can flow through you.

We do things because we love Him, not because we get something.

Disciplines make it easier for the power of God to flow through you. Don’t think it is the disciplines that bring the power. Don’t make disciplines into “works” – otherwise it’s based on the flesh, not God.

Renewing Your Mind

Q/A Is it possible for pain during childbirth or menstruation to stop?

Woman understanding that the curse has been reversed.

Renewing Your Mind

A movie that could be very beneficial (or harmful) is the mat r i x series of movies

• The Matrix mindset – the difference between rea l i t y and what you see

• What you see is a tempora l reality. God’s word is

permanent reality.

James 5 – 13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

Sickness and af f l ic t ion are not the same thing. Leukemia is not an affliction.

One of the best ways to enforce a change is to change your terminology

2 Cor 5:17 - In Christ, new creature. All things have become new.

Romans 12:2 - Only one way to change is to rene w your m ind to the Word.

• As your mind is renewed, it allows the outside to start looking like the inside (your perfect, complete spirit)

• Old habits are evidence of a lack of mind renewal • The goal in mind renewal is to the most Christ-like you can be.

The world’s flawed method is to “be the best you can be,” focus on self.

Col 1:27 “Christ in you, the hope of glory”

Christ in you is not “your hope of glory.” Christ in you is glory’s hope. In other words, Heaven’s hope, or Heaven is banking on you being who heaven created you to be.

The fastest way to renew your mind is to change every th ing

The Spirit in you is like a machine. It will cause what you bel ieve to come to pass.

What’s important is believing. Believing will change your words. Your words will change your believing.

TL Osborne – the Spirit of God in a human makes a Chr i s t ian , not adherence to a set of beliefs or creeds.

How to become the person that you have decided to be

• 5 gates in your body: touch, hearing, eyes, smell, taste • Fastest way to learn is immersion.

• By changing your environment, you change yourself. • By changing everything for 90 days you will change who you are • You can change any habit in your life within 21 days.

• Friends are like elevators . They will take you up or down. • Spirits will not transfer unless you’re doing something they like. • Surround yourself with good people who will encourage you and

tell you the truth. • If you want drastic change, then make drastic changes.

Prayer of the Elders Healing for Yourself Prayer that Works Parable of the Sower

Fastest way to transform who you are is to renew your mind.

• Change everything • Change what you say.

• Say what the B ib le says. • Don’t say things that disagree with the Bible.

• Unless you s tudy the Bible, you won’t know it says.

• Direct your change. Change takes di sc ip l ine , time and effort.

• Start doing i t and you will become it.

Prayer of the Elders

James 5 – 13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Nothing in the Bible talks about someone “standing in” for someone.

You and I can agree. The prayer of agreement is a strong form of prayer

Having a pos i t ion in a church doesn’t mean that you are given more power, only more responsibility.

If they have more power, it is because they have grown in it.

The state of my emotional stability has nothing to do with the power of God being present to do what needs to be done.

• The power of God is always present – do not let your mind get in the way

• Right now I represent God. Be able to speak with the

author i t y of God.

If you’re sick and cannot heal yourself

• Step 1 – call the elder(s). • Step 2 – elders pray the prayer of faith. • Step 3 – anoint with oil in the name of the Lord. • Step 4 - they get well.

• Step 5 – I f he has committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Step 5 destroys the doct r ine that a person has to get rid of sin before they can get healed.

Believe the word of God as it is wr i t ten . Take it literally.

Healing for Yourself

To heal your relationship with someone, you must confes s your faults

If you have difficulty praying for your own healing, find someone else with the same problem. Sowing/Reaping. Pray for each other and get healed.

• If your conscience condemns you then can’t pray for healing for yourself.

• Your mistakes/sin does NOT cause God to l ove someone else less. He will still use you to heal them.

• Just because you lay hands on the sick does not make you

r ight with God.

Prayer that Works

The sp i r i t , sou l and body must all focus and work together to release God’s power.

Effectual/Effective prayer: unceasing, constantly advancing.

Opposite is I nef fect ive prayer: cold, dead, clammy, begging

Prayer must be fervent.

The Power of God (Volts/Amps example)

• You could tu rn of f everything in the room, but electricity is still coming.

• Faith is like Amps.

The question is not faith. Every man has been given the

measure of faith.

Faith is like muscles . Every man is given the same number of them.

• Either you are or you ain’t pregnant . You have faith or you don’t

• When Jesus spoke about “little faith,” He was referring to the persistence of it.

• Power = Amps x Volts

Amps = Fa i th

Volts = Per s i s tence • “He that endures to the end.”

• We are told to endure to the end.

We must persist until we get what God has promised.

Science and the Bible

This piece is not in the teaching but may be helpful, offering another scientific analogy to make this point. We can liken the Amps/Volts example to another “real world” scientific fact that most of us are familiar with: a water hose. We know that to get water to come out we need to open the valve (turn the spigot/faucet) to allow flow and we need pressure in the pipe to move it. Our belief is like the valve, it can be off, open a little or wide open. If we want healing power to flow through us like water through a hose, we need to open the valve by renewing our minds. We know that Faith is our belief. Persistence is shown by what we do to act on that faith. Analogies:

Electricity Water Prayer Application

Amps Water Flow Faith Belief

Volts Water Pressure Persistence Doing

Comparisons: Amps = Water Flow = Faith = Belief Volts = Water Pressure = Persistence = Doing

Healing Power = Faith x Persistence = Belief x Doing

We also know that Amps alone or Volts alone do not get any work done. So if we want to get peopled healed, we must Believe God’s Word AND lay hands on or pray for them. Parable of the Sower

Mark 4 - 1And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. 2And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine, 3Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow: 4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. 5And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth: 6But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away. 7And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. 8And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred. 9And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. 11And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: 12That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. 13And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? 14The sower soweth the word. 15And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. 16And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

This parable is the key to knowing other parables.

You can’t tell what type of soil a person is until after they have received the Word.

Half of getting the job done is just showing up.

The enemy doesn’t want to f ight . He tries to bully and bluff.

The only tool and weapon the devil has is to get you to qu i t .

You don’t bring anything to the table. It’s God’s power, gifts, Spirit, tools.

The fight of faith is choosing to believe the B ib le over the enemy’s report.

Parable of the Sower Persistence Praying for Others

Parable of the Sower (continued)

Mark 4 - 18And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, 19And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. 20And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred. 21And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? 22For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. 23If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 24And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. 25For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath. 26And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

All 4 types of soil hear the same Word. Only one produces fruit.

How you s ta r t doesn’t matter. It’s how you f i n i sh .

Hear the Word. Receive the Word. Bring forth fruit.

The enemy came to steal the Word they heard. You cannot “rest on your laurels.” (meaning: to rely on a past success instead of trying to improve oneself further)

• The West is l i near minded. Tend to think in modules and parts – everything is divided.

• Middle Eastern thinking - the further east you go, the more holistic thinking becomes.

• Far East - think ho l i s t ica l l y . Everything is connected.

We must think spirit, soul and body—think holistically.

If you have Jesus , you have life. Life – save, heals, delivers

• Life into spirit – saves them

• Life into soul – del iver s them

• Life into body – hea l s them

27And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. 28For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. 29But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. 30And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? 31It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: 32But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.

Western mindset – want to know how it works before we do it

You don’t have to know how it works to make it work.

(ver 30) The kingdom of God is contained in His Word – the Bible

As people hear it, receive it, believe it, do it, they bring forth f ru i t .

The Word of God must be received, acted upon, believed.

• At the same time, you rest in the knowledge that it is God doing this.

• Bring the power of God to bear on that situation.

Persistence

Syro-Phoenician woman told Jesus, I’m not leaving until my daughter is healed.

God said no , she said, “I’m getting it,” and God called that

fa i th .

Provoke one another to good works.

Train as one to win the prize!

We take ground from the enemy by force.

Preparation time, training time, and practice time is never

wasted time.

God’s words are spirit and l i fe .

If a person doesn’t use what they learn within 72 hours, they likely never will.

Praying for others

Keep a poker face. You are there to fix the problem, not to be part of it.

Stop them from explaining everything. You can’t get emotional and into sympathy – soul involved

Sympathy - the act or power of sharing the feelings of another

Having the Mind of Christ Spiritual versus Carnal Christians The Holy Spirit in You

Having the Mind of Christ

1 Corinthians 2 - 1And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. 2For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. 3And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. 4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: 5That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. 6Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: 7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. 12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. 13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. 16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

The book of James mentions two types of wisdom:

Heaven ly wisdom from God

Dev i l i sh wisdom from natural man

God has ordained wisdom unto our glory.

Anything you learn about God, you learn by the Spirit of God

The purpose of the spirit is to revea l to us what God has given us.

(ver 14) Natu ra l man cannot receive the things of God.

(ver 15) The spiritual man judges.

You’re not any man’s servant, so no man can judge you. (God’s servant)

You can judge works, life or fruit. You cannot judge others’ salvation or eternal destiny, heaven or hell

In the Old Testament, nobody had the mind of God, But we now

have the mind of Christ

Spiritual versus Carnal Christians

This table is the compilation of the Spiritual/Carnal references from the following Scripture passages in (1 Cor, Hebrews, John)

Spiritual Carnal

Mature Babes

Meat – skillful in the word of righteousness

Milk – unskillful in the word of righteousness,

By reason of use (doing), have senses exercised

desiring the sincere (whole, complete) milk of the Word

Discern both good and evil. Unable to discern good from evil.

Drink living (moving) water. Never thirst again. Well springing up unto everlasting life

Dead (normal) water. Drink and thirst again.

The Spirit and Salvation Gifts of the Spirit

Spiritual Meat is doing the will of God.

Spiritual Milk is knowing God’s will.

Harvest is ready now – go and do Harvest in the future – grow first

Notes:

1 Corinthians 3 - 1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. 2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. 3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

Hebrews 5 - 5So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. 6As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. 7Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 8Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; 9And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; 10Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec. 11Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. 12For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Galatians and Hebrews were written to carnal people who were going to back to the law (to works)

Christ is the end of the law to all who believe in Him.

Essence of the Word of God is to know our righteousness in Christ Jesus.

John 4 – 1When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, 2(Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) 3He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. 4And he must needs go through Samaria. 5Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. 6Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. 7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. 8(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. 10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. 11The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the

well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? 12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. 15The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

(ver. 12) Jesus totally ignored her question. He had no ego to prove.

John 4 - 16Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither. 17The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband: 18For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly. 19The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 25The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. 26Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he. 27And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her? 28The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 29Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? 30Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. 31In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. 32But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? 34Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. 35Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

(ver 33)Jesus was talking about sp i r i tua l meat – doing the will of the God.

Paul says he can’t give meat to Corinthians, then teaches them

about spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are mi lk .

(ver 35)The harvest is now. Go and do the will of God.

We emphasize the readiness (or not) of the worker

Jesus only emphasized the read ines s of the harvest.

John 6 - 26Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled. 27Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. 28Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. 30They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? 31Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. 35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

(ver. 29)Jesus did not say go fast, go pray or do works.

He said the work of God is to bel ieve on H im whom He has sent .

Jesus said, come to Him and believe on Him

I don’t have to be ready . He is always ready .

• Churches discuss being hungry and thirsty.

If you’re born again, you believe on Jesus, you will never thirst again.

• Wrong teaching – they think they need something God hasn’t given them yet. They think it will lead to revival.

• The truth is that God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.

• As long as you think it’s hunger, you’re going to stay in the breadline until you get filled. What you really have is a zeal for God. Zeal makes you want to do something for God.

If you’re born again, you are filled and you have zeal.

The Holy Spirit in You

Romans 8:11 – If the same spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead dwells in you, it will quicken your mortal body.

If we’re born again, we all have the same spirit. The Holy Spirit did

every healing and dead raising.

No human has ever healed a person. Every time someone was healed it was the Holy Spirit

How can I say I’m not ready or I’ve never been in that situation?

The Holy Spirit has been in every situation. There has never been a healing or dead raising that the Spirit of God wasn’t responsible for.

The Spirit that is in me is the one that has healed EVERY sick person EVER. The harvest is ready; the harvester (Holy Spirit) is ready. We are responsible to release Him.

Things You Need to Know Anointing Your Potential

Things You Need to Know

1 John 2 - 20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Unction: Anointing - You have an “anointing” from the Holy One, and you know all things

You Need To Know

• What you are doing

How you are doing it • God is calling you into the ministry - not just to sit and gain

knowledge

It has nothing to do with you, your education or talents. It has to do with the world full of people that God wants to touch.

• You are absolutely imperat ive in God’s plan. • You need to know that God desires to use you and He will use

you. You need to set yourself to be used of God. • Vision and Goals are important.

A goal that is not written down and can’t be measured is a wish. If you want to accomplish a goal, you have to write them down.

• You absolutely matter to God. He can use you, based on your vision and your vision of how big God is.

Humility and Pride

Having a sense of destiny or purpose is not pride.

Fa l se humility putting yourself down and acting as you don’t count

T rue humility is to simply forget yourself. You don’t consider yourself

Hebrews 11 – Abraham & Sarah did not consider their own body

• Pr ide – to think more about yourself than what the Bible says

• Humility – agreeing with what the Bible says (about you) even if

you don’t fee l that way.

Whatever you do, it is the anointing of God that can cause it to come to pass/happen

Your job

1. Know what you are called to do 2. Know how to walk in it 3. Walk humbly before God

Do not think of yourself more h igh ly than you think of others

If you don’t do your job:

1. He will replace you. No one is irreplaceable. 2. Someone else will get the job done.

Anointing

Pitfalls

Current teaching on anointing pushes you to think you are special.

If you’re a good speaker or pray-er, people will lift you up.

Do not compare yourself to other people.

You have to make the deci s ion not to get puffed up.

People have fau l t s . They will probably let you down.

Your Potential

I have free will. I can choose to serve God.

God has spent an enormous amount of t ime and energy in getting me ready.

God has put no l im i t on how great you can be

You are a soldier.

• You become a soldier when you join. • You become a better soldier after you are disciplined, trained,

equipped.

• You get promoted because you are faithful and disciplined.

• General George S. Patton, Jr. – aggres s i ve and fearless. • A general should talk, look and act like a general.

As a leader in the body of Christ, you:

• can demonstrate author i t y with your voice, with presence. It cannot be faked.

• need to demonstrate faith and fearlessness • whatever leaders demonstrate, the followers will also personify.

A general is nothing more than a private who has been faithful and has done things that other privates did not do.

Hyper-Sovereignty and Leadings

The Doris Day gospel (que sera sera, “whatever will be will be”).

Get rid of hyper-sovereignty of God idea (from Augustine)

• His teaching spread into the idea of always needing to be “led” • This is the most damaging doctrine in the church • You can’t serve God unless He lets you • Without permission or a leading, you don’t do anything • People that have wanted to do something have been

s topped .

God’s Sovereignty/Predestination: God put things in line for me so that I would have what I need when I get there.

We need to be able to see the truthfulness of the word of God

• I can do what He said regardless of what I think or fee l .

• Past fa i lu res have nothing to do with the next person you pray for.

1 John 2 - 20But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

Your spirit knows God – God renews your spirit

Your spirit is king and it should rule

You can renew your mind (soul) to know God

Your soul is the messenger that tells the body what it should do

• The unrenewed mind (your belief system) s to ps the power of God to flow through you Any failure of experiencing what God has promised shows a part

where your mind is not rene wed . • A renewed mind will turn your inactivity into activity

1. Read the Bible Study it 2. Believe the Bible D e c i d e that it is true 3. Do the Bible Put it into action

An unrenewed mind thinks, “What does the Bible say about that?”

A renewed mind thinks what the Bible says. It’s second nature.

How Are We Anointed? Being Doers of the Word

1 John 2 - 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The anointing is the Holy Sp i r i t .

The Holy Sp i r i t abides in you – lives in you, stays in you, does not leave

He never leaves you or forsakes you.

You put your hand to the job and the Holy Sp i r i t provides the power to get it done.

How are we anointed?

Jesus, the Christ, is the anointed one. He is in me. I am always

anointed .

The anointing is not God placing a gifting/ability on you.

If you want authority, you have to take responsibility.

You need to rise to the occasion.

Half Truth = Complete Lie. Choose t ru th .

God is in you in fullness but we only show it to a degree

Your spirit knows al l things. Your spirit does not learn.

Your mind is like a book . Your spirit is like the i n te rnet (infinitely larger than a book)

Your spirit knows, your mind learns. Your job is to get your mind to know what your spirit knows.

• You have heart knowledge that needs to become head knowledge.

• Romans 12:1-3 – mind is renewed to the Word of God. • You are born again of incorruptible seed of the Word of God.

Being Doers of the Word

Read the book of James.

• We must be doer s of the word and not just hearers.

If you’re hearers, you deceive yourself

• Logos – The Word of God, rightly divided, i n context .

You are responsible for every Word in the Bible

• Matt 7:24 – He that hears my sayings (legai – logos) and does them

o The words you are supposed to do is the logos (not the rhema). o Be led by nature and character of God, not by arbitrary

feeling and impulse.

• Learning: o Carnal learning comes through brain (soul). o Godly learning comes by the spirit and then out to the soul. o Seminary learning indoctrinates people into their beliefs.

• “I will pour out of my spirit.” – the Holy Spirit is in me. -- Pour out in the world.

Romans 10 - 6But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) 7Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) 8But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;

It’s the Spirit of God living in me and flowing out of me to touch others.

I am complete in Him. I lack nothing. I need to walk in it.

Preparat ion is key. Stay in the Word of God until when I open my mouth, the word of God comes out.

1 John 2 - 27But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

The anointing ---> abides in you ---> knows all things

Acts 1 - 4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Promise of Father = Bapt i sm of Holy Spirit

Power (Dunamis) = miraculous ability

The Holy Spirit is the ability of God in you.

Holy Spirit comes upon you and abides in you

Read the Bible for what it says – take it literally

Do not read the Bible from a denominational standpoint.

Luke 4 - 16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. 17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Turn off your re l ig ious brain. Do not go by what you have heard.

Many churches teach the opposite: “I am anointed because the Spirit is upon me”

Order these events according to Luke 4:18:

• 1 s t you are anointed

• 2nd the spirit is upon you

Galatians 4:6 - 6And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Order these events according to Galatians 4:6:

• 1s t you become a Son

• 2nd the Spirit goes into your heart, abides in you

Fasting Baptism of the Spirit Kingdom of Heaven & Kingdom of God

Fasting

Good if for the right purpose – Isaiah 58 – Fast to die to self

Bad if used in an attempt to manipu late God

Baptism of the Spirit

Baptized means to be immersed . Have the Holy Spirit to overflowing

There is NO scriptural basis that Jesus had the Spirit without measure while we have measure - John 3:34

You cannot have the Spirit by measure when you have Him.

In the Old Testament, He was upon them. Now He is in us.

We should be walking in a level that “provokes” the OT saints.

In the book of James, states that you must be doers of the Word, not a forgetful hearer.

The Word of God is the mi r ro r that you’re looking into.

This book is not just a portrait of Jesus, but also a mi r ro r .

When I look into a mirror, I see me . I’m reading about me . This is who I am.

Romans 12 - 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This is reasonable service (entry level).

As you have your mind renewed, you will prove God’s will.

There is one wi l l of God. That wi l l is good, acceptable and perfect.

From the book of Romans on, look up the word “made”

Luke 4 - 18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

A baby is complete but not mature.

Anointed -> Spirit comes upon us.

Sons -> Puts His Spirit within us.

When I lay my hands on someone He lays His hands

Not I that live but Christ who lives wi th in me

He emptied Himself of all His divinity and operated as an

anointed man.

The New Testament started at the la s t supper .

• It was not ratified until His resu r rect ion . • When Jesus said this is the New Testament in My blood.

• Everything Jesus p re a ch e d was to tell them what the kingdom was like.

Kingdom of Heaven & Kingdom of God

Kingdom of heaven is in Matthew.

Kingdom of God is in Mark, Luke and John

One encompasses the other.

Search in the Bible for the word, “kingdom”

All Texans are Americans, but not all Americans are Texans.

You can be in the Kingdom of heaven but not in the Kingdom

of God

• Just because you are a profes s ing Christian does not

make you a posses s ing Christian.

Mark 16 - 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

God confirmed the word with signs.

One of the signs is healing the sick.

God did not confirm the apostles.

Judas was casting out devils even though he was not right with God.

• James 1:22 – be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, thereby deceiving your own selves.

• Do the Logos - written word of God, rightly divided, in context. • Matthew 7:24 – legai, derivative of logos.

If you hear these logos words and do them, you’re a wise man.

Being a Doer of the Word/Doer of the Work Secret of JGLM’s Success How to Enter the Will of God Anointing

Q/A Requirement of baptism and “Oneness” or “Jesus only” doctrine

Notes:

Being a Doer of the Word/Doer of the Work

James 1 - 22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Doer of the Word Doer of the Work

People do not heal the sick.

The Sp i r i t of the Father in us is heals the sick.

Do not separate what God has joined together.

Mark 16 - 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

To be a doer of the Word you must lay hands on the sick.

When the sick get healed, it is God inside of us doing the work.

He is s i t t ing until his enemies are made his footstool.

Our job is to put all enemies under his feet.

Signs following: signs accompanying.

• Step 1: Be l ievers lay hands on the sick

• Step 2: The Holy Sp i r i t (Power) is present and God heals the sick

• Step 3: The s ick must recover.

Healing vs. Miracles of Healing

• Healed = done

• Heal ing = present tense/in process Recover implies time

• Mi rac les of Healing = instant

Gifts of healings (1 Corinthians 12:28). (Note that they are both plural)

Secret of JGLM’s Success

Reading of letter from John G Lake to Carrie Judd Montgomery.

• Exercise domin ion of God through the Holy Ghost.

• Chr i s t ians have that dominion the minute they got baptized in the Holy Ghost.

• Others are still begging God to come and heal. • In the name of Jesus we command the devil to depart. • Intercession if you don’t know the details or prayed from a

distance (tongues, etc.), but it is NOT begging and crying.

How to enter the will of God - 2 Phases.

Phase 1 - Surrender of our will to do His Will.

Phase 2 - Recognizing myself as God’s son and man’s servant.

God gives us the Holy Ghost to use for God.

• Crane operator - controls the powerful crane with ease • Crane follows the actions of the operator, has great power and

actually does the work • The will of the company was for him to move the car. They

provided him a crane, something between his hand and that car. What they provided for him was something that could magni fy his i n tent ions to accomplish the will of the company he worked for. To us, that is the Holy Spirit

“There can be no faith where there is question. Faith is experienced where the Will of God is known. If there is question about the Will of God, there can be no faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.”

God with unlimited power is limited by us . He has no other limitations.

• The Lord says, lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

• If I do not lay hands on the sick, then they wi l l not be healed.

• His limits are based on what I bel ieve . • You are limited by what you believe, not by God. Jesus told us

“Whatever we ask” • Sad that God has to wrestle with someone to get them to do

something.

Anointing

1 Samuel 10 - 1Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain

over his inheritance?- 6And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. 7And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as occasion serve thee; for God is with thee.

2 Anointings: Physical anointing (Samuel) is because of the spiritual anointing (God):

1. Spiritual anointing: G o d anointing Saul to be king 2. Physical anointing: Sa m ue l anointing Saul physically with oil 3. Time gap. 4. Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee

Spirit of the LORD coming up on Saul c an no t be the anointing Matches Luke 4:18

This is type and shadow of the new bi r th and the baptism of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor 5:17)

You do as occas ion serve you, for God is with you.

Do what is right in your eyes

I am free to help people.

Galatians 5 – love, against such there is no law

Anointing is not just used for men; it was used for things

• Old Testament temple utens i l s were anointed.

That doesn’t mean God gave them power. • Anointed is similar to “sanctified”; to be set apart for use.

• To be anointed is to be appointed to a position • The position of a “Son” is the highest position.

Word of Faith Doctrine on Healing/Authority Sacred Cows/Traditions of Man

Sermons or Public Speaking

• 30 minute talk should take 6-8 hours to plan • 4 hour talk takes 4 hours to plan. • Find the few principles that apply to every situation.

Word of Faith Doctrine on Healing/Authority

Word of faith people emphasize the new creation.

When “Word of faith” message got into the charismatic churches, the prophetic move started.

Holes in theology – Incorrect teaching:

• You could not have faith for others, unless you have

author i t y over them or permission from the person who has authority

• You are not over ru l ing the parents

• You are over ru l ing the devil and/or sickness – this is your authority

• You should make your city the hea l th ies t place in that area.

• When you have success, the world will try to apply it to some

anoint ing you have.

• It’s not man’s anoint ing . It’s Jesus’ anointing, God’s anointing.

Sacred Cows/Traditions of Man

“As long as you keep your sacred cow, you can only have milk. You cannot eat meat until you kill the cow.”

• Need authority to pray • Cannot have faith for others. • Must be led by the Spirit before you act • “Special” anointings, such as a healing anointing

Romans 8 - 1There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8- 5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

When you are walking in the Sp i r i t ; there is no condemnation

To be carna l l y minded is death

Being godly and holy and given to spiritual things (activities, prayer,

fasting, etc) does not mean that a person is mature in Christ.

If a person is immature in Christ they are carnal.

Spiritually minded = Mature in Christ = Godly, Holy, Spiritual = life & peace

No sp i r i tua l l y minded person has ever died of sickness or disease.

Lions do not pick on the strong, healthy animals on the herd.

They pick on the small, weak, elderly, anything that separates from the herd.

E.W. Kenyon John G. Lake in Africa Developing and Delivering the Message

E.W. Kenyon

Kenyon wrote books to teach his church

• For 40 years, he never bur ied anyone under 70 • They realized that the children were not getting this message • For 23 years, not one person was sick in the church.

Word of Faith movement was the closest to truth

The principles were good, but not good enough. Healing was taking too long and they ran out of time. People died.

John G Lake in Africa

April 1, 1908 – John Lake left for South Africa

May 14 – Arrived in Capetown.

May 24 – First service in Johannesburg

They came out of Zion, IL. The city that John Alexander Dowie built.

Dowie’s successor came against the Pentecostal movement.

The Pentecostals scattered to the 4 winds.

People were getting baptized by the Holy Ghost.

If you’re not getting fed at a church, then l eave it.

• God sends you to a church to get fed. • Usually you will outgrow your Church.

• You may love your pastor, but he may not have what you need now.

• When people stay with one person too long, they tend to plateau out. They don’t tend to grow beyond their pastor.

• JGLM expects you to push and far su rpass anything we’re doing.

Dowie’s churches were losing to the Pentecostals.

• Called everyone back to Zion to figure out what to do. • Worst time to bring generals off the field is when under attack.

John Lake got off and Daniel Bryant got on the ship.

• Lake preached on baptism of Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. About half the church was baptized in the Holy Spirit while he was preaching.

• Daniel Bryant never returned • December 22, 1908 – John Lake was on preaching trip in desert

o Jennie Stephens-Lake passed away. They had 7 children. o Jennie was 41 years old when she died. o Lake was born in 1870. He was 38 years old when Jennie died o Lake’s diary – “This was satan’s master stroke.”

• “Christian” religious people likely killed Jennie.

Re l ig ion will kill and destroy. • When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, they plotted how to

k i l l Lazarus to protect their position.

• In America, they will try to kill your reputat ion .

o When you hear something, investigate it, before you believe it. o It will help you stay with somebody that is real.

• Lake stayed in Africa 4 ½ years longer.

o His sister and brother came to help.

o Even death on the field did not stop them.

• September 1914. Lake in Spokane.

o Lake married Florence M. Switzer from Milwaukee o Born 1885 (15 years his junior). o She was a stenographer. o We have every se rmon because of Florence. o Lake died 1935 o Florence died in 1964 in Kenwick.

Developing and Delivering the Message

God works through imperfect people

Sermons - work like a lawyer.

Before they write their case, they think what the oppos i t ion will present.

Always know the opponent’s playbook .

• Sacred cows are the enemy’s arguments.

Prepare sermons by dealing with their object ions to divine healing.

• What would be the next logical objection, work through them.

A good minister should answer their ques t ions so when you are done the only questions that they have are new ones.

You change the method of delivery. A different presentation.

Never change the message – it is sacred

John G. Lake’s Secrets of Divine Healing Natural versus Spiritual Faith

John G. Lake’s Secrets of Divine Healing

1. Destroy sacred cows concerning sickness and disease

2. Recognize and treat sickness and disease as an enemy .

Sickness is never something that God is using (to teach a lesson).

People will identify with their sickness.

Emphasize that s ickness is an entity all of its own.

When you talk, separate sickness from the person.

Hate the sickness, l ove the sick.

Be careful how you preach divine health.

• People may think that you are putting them down. • Be excited about living in divine health. • Never rebuke a person for getting sick.

JGLM denies the ability of sickness and disease to remain in the body

Divine health is where we are heading

The church should teach:

• Who God is – How awesome He is

• Who God is in me…

• Who I am in God. .

Ask & you will receive

• Ask/pray

• Be l ieve you received

• Act like it (you believe that you received)

We are bringing spiritual power to a natural world.

The more you can relate a past success to the next

problem , the more success you will have

• Relate your next problem to a prior success • Most people relate future problems to past failures

Mark 16 –15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall

take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Mark 16 is addressed to bel iever s . No Chr i s t ian. . has an excuse

You can’t see the recovery until you lay hands.

1. Lay hands 2. Holy Spirit works 3. They recover

If you don’t lay hands, you will have a 100% failure rate

You can’t base whether you’re going to obey the Bible on whether you have success. You must obey the Bible in order to have success

If you’re not laying hands, it shows that your mind is not renewed

Your mind is in control of your spirit.

• Your sp i r i t is supposed to be in charge of your mind . • If you go by failure, you are walking by sight. • The Holy Spirit and the Word always agree. • Resistance does not come from God.

• God wants you to des t roy the works of the devil anywhere

Faith

David and Goliath. David had faith in God

• God is bigger than the giant. • God was with me with the lion, the bear and with this giant. • David related past victories to the current situation. • God is bigger than the lion, the bear, and the giant.

How big is this situation to God?

• Cancer is nothing. • God created everything, so how hard is it for Him to fix it

It is not how big my faith is

It is how big the God is in whom I have faith

I must have faith in my God, not faith in my faith

God is so big and so good that even if my faith fails, HE WON’T

“God is good. If God was so good that he would come send his Son to die for us, send His Son to pay the price for our sins and our healing when we had no faith, how much would He help us if we have any faith”

“God is good at taking nothing and making something out of it.”

John G. Lake’s Secrets of Divine Healing Fruit vs. Gifts

3. Get fed up with sickness, disease and the enemy.

I hate it and I will destroy it wherever I go.

This is the start. You will grow if you don’t give up.

Jesus said that the kingdom in you is like a seed .

• K ingdom principles – it starts as a seed

• The k ingdom can be developed and grown.

Fruit vs. Gifts (of the Spirit)

Fruit Gifts

Fruit – exercising dominion/authority by the Word

• Fruit is grown from a seed to a large fruit.

• Not a var iab le = it is constant. • If the Spirit is in you, you produce fruit of the spirit.

Gifts – given by the grace of God

• Gifts are i n s tantaneous ly operative • Variable = it may not operate in every situation • It is given but can be grown larger

Galatians 5 - 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Temperance – se l f cont ro l . - becoming self-governing.

Fruit grows. When you start as a Christian, your fruit may be small as a seed.

• Mark 4:28 first blade, then ear, then full corn. • We expect people to be full grown the day they’re born again. • Mercy: give people time to grow.

Gifts should be like the fuel tanks on a space shuttle. 70% of all the energy released in a rocket launch happens within the first 3 minutes.

Gifts help you “take off.” Later you need them less and then you grow up and walk in the fullness and don’t need gifts.

Paul to carnal Christians (Corinthians): Desire, covet the gifts.

Faith is a Fruit. It Grows!

1 Corinthians 12 - 1Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Diversities of gifts (technically manifestations) same Sp i r i t

Differences of administrations same Lord. .

Diversities of operations same God…

(ver. 9) “Another” = alos (Greek), another of the same kind or nature

Gifts according to 1 Cor 12 1. Word of Wisdom, Future, commonly called Word of Prophecy 2. Word of Knowledge, Present, commonly called

Gift of Knowledge, can’t know humanly 3. Faith (not word of faith) 4. Gifts of Healings 5. Working of Miracles 6. Prophecy (not word of prophecy) Comfort/exhort/edify 7. Discerning of Spirits 8. Different kinds of Tongues 9. Interpretation of Tongues

• Diversities of Gifts x 9 ways of manifestation = 9 • Different ways to Administer Gifts (9 x 9) = 81 • Diversity of Operation 81 x 9 = 729
