DESCRIPTION
A paper describing the software implementation of a control algorithm offers flexibility, reliablity and a high degree of accuracy. However, such implementation offers limitations, too. For instance the sampling frequency, the computation delay, the finite wordlength fot he digital computer and the finite wordlength of the interface devices must be properly coordinated because they affect the performace as well as the cost of digital control system. In addition, the quanitzation errors that result in fixed-point implementations must be properly handled by the system designer if the application is to be successful. March 1985.TRANSCRIPT
