SPEED WEEK RECORD - 2019

Here I present an opportunity to participate in Speed Week 2019, which takes place in Salt Lake

City, Utah (USA) in August.

During the Week of Speed, the salt flats become a mecca to thousands of riders from all over the

world who meet to compete at Bonneville Speedway, the circuit made inside Salt Lake. The flats

were first used for motor sports over a hundred years ago, in 1912.

Our goal is to beat the land speed record on a motorcycle with an engine powered by natural

gas. Here I explain how.

Dino Romano

Dino Romano was born in Mendoza in Argentina, the native country of his mother. His father was Italian. The visceral passion divided between engines and the continuous exploration of the world was cultivated by Dino since childhood riding a matchless 500cc, alongside his father Nello Francesco, his “hero”. The interminable and dusty roads of the vineyards of Mendoza, considered the “Argentine Chianti” were an inspiration to the young Dino. Riding with his father on that bike, Dino acquired from him - as if by osmosis - an extreme respect of nature and a desire to build a unique means to explore it.In late ‘60s, during the war in Argentina, his father decided to return to Italy and to open a car dealership. All the family moved to Milan. A few years later, Dino began working with his father and turned his passion for engines into practice. These youthful experiences and the pioneering nature that distinguishes them, were later to bring Dino to the foundation of his workshop, in the only place in Italy that could transport him mentally and physically back to the birthplace of that passion: the Tuscan Maremma. In 1978 Dino meets Carlo Talamo and with his help opens in Grosseto one of the first Triumph dealerships and workshops in Italy. The continuity that characterizes the places where Dino lives in the course from his life, from the Argentine pampas to the no less beautiful hills of the Maremma, shape his free and creative character which, combined with an accurate

knowledge of pure technical aspects, allows Dino to create models of motorcycles that, as he says himself, have a ‘Soul’, recognized as true and unique works of art, appreciated throughout the world. The desire to follow new paths, to undertake motoring adventures by mixing them with sensations and feelings, creates in the heart of people the feeling of having found a point of reference in the world of motorcycle customization and Dino becomes a true

legend in the sector. Here then was born, “D.R. Motodalcuore”.Always in the world of engines, from dragster competitions to short tracks, from the Thruxton Cup to the Sultans of Sprint, in thirty years of activity Dino has gained an important experience in working with brands such as Harley Davidson and Triumph. His talent allowed him to make numerous motorcycles, which have received prestigious awards and praise from the international press.

WHO is DINO?

Salt Lake of Bonneville,

reached a speed of 178

mph fueled with LPG.

THE PROJECT

As announced in the gala evening of the Motor Bike Expo in Verona in January 2019, we will return to Speed Week to complete

what we started in 2018, with the aim of breaking the international category record. Our motivations have not changed:

Believing in our dreams, Committing to achieving them, Being excited by living them.

During the week of 10th to 16th August

2019, during Bonneville Speed Week,

we will try to break the speed record on

the Salt Lake, in the MPS 1000 category,

according to the SCTA regulation

(Southern Calif. Timing Association),

with a natural gas-powered motorcycle.

We will participate with a fully faired

motorcycle, a type called “Partial

Streamlining”, with a cylinder capacity

of no more than 1000cc. Although there

is no direct reference to the famous

pilot Burt Munro, who with his Indian in

1967 established a record still unbeaten

(a story told in the film “The World’s

Fastest Indian”, with Anthony Hopkins

as Burt Munro), our adventure takes on

similar details, colors and intensity due

to the respective categories being very

similar. Also in the spirit of Burt Munro’s

historic achievement, our project

embodies a strong dose of emotions

and a touch of madness.

To achieve the record, we built a

special motorcycle, with a chrome-

molybdenum steel frame, driven by a

4-cylinder 1000cc engine, powered by

an 8-injector electronic injection and

equipped with an Air Cooling Freezer

System, a new device of our innovation.

About 3.40 meters long overall, the

bike has a fairing composed of three

removable parts, entirely in carbon/

kevlar, whose design is the work of

Federico Rizzo of the Metalbike Garage

team. The high performance exhausts

are made by master Walter Amista of

Zard Exhausts while the engine and

injection system is by Dino Romano,

supervised by Alessio Biagiotti.

During the development of the

motorcycle we will use the support of

other qualified partners.

Page 6: Dino Romano · himself, have a ‘Soul’, recognized as true and unique works of art, appreciated throughout the world. The desire to follow new paths, to undertake motoring adventures

The project is entirely Italian and has received many positive reviews. The creation of a record-breaking vehicle is a source

of pride as an Italian rider and motorcycle engineer and creates unique opportunities. There are already collaborations in

progress, including: Virgin Radio, U-Boat, LS2, Pakelo, Zard, Carbon Dream, Motoabbigliamento, Carburo, Midland, Moto it,

Black Soul Coffee, MBE Verona, CarMania, Neuro TV, Motodalcuore, Kentauros, Metalbike Garage.

OPPORTUNITIES

OUR PARTNERS

It is in our nature to take the projects we begin very seriously, dedicating ourselves entirely to achieving success. Our goal is

to BEAT A RECORD, but for our partners there is ample space for commercial or image initiatives, linked both to the event

and to the particular place where it takes place, whose fame is worldwide.

Times change, but the spirit remains the same. Bonneville is a magical place, one of a kind: the Temple of Speed, the

place where everything is possible. During these months, with our media partners, we will try to convey these sensations

to the vast public of the social media and print media, through the story of the construction of the motorcycle and the

psychological preparation of the pilots.

OPEN EYES TEAM - REAL MOVIE by Patricio Estay

Open Eyes Dream will also be the inspiration for a real movie directed by Patricio Estay.

Patricio Estay is a French photographer, director and composer of Chilean origin. After graduating in ethnomusicology, Estay approached the world of photo-journalism devoting himself to documenting the political-social aspect of societies in conflict.

At the age of 20 he moved to Brazil, where he lived for eight years. During this period he made various social reportages and documentaries. Since the beginning photography has proved to be a powerful ally in his journey as an author. During this period, his career as a photographer and musician is enriched by a stimulating environment. Workshops with great masters such as Ravi Shankar, MikisTheodorakis and Alvin Jones leave an indelible mark on his young life as a composer. The dimension of Estay’s testimony, the strength of its content, the richness and variety of his look become primary elements of a profound personal reflection that has always

nourished his career.• In 1981 he moved to Paris, where his career continued with great satisfaction and important professional recognition.• In 1982, the first exhibition in Paris (Collective) “Latin America in Paris”, at the Grand Palais.• In 1985 he obtained a loan from the French Ministry of Culture for the production of the documentary “Les Corralejas”, of which he is the

author and screenwriter, with the film production company Film D’Ici and the INA (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel).• In 1990 he began a complex ten-year job that led him to travel around the world to document and film the equestrian peoples of eleven

different countries that ended in 2001 with the publication of the book Les Peuples Cavaliers, published by Le Chene, and in 2012 Cavaliers du Monde published by De Lamartiniere. Part of this work was exhibited in 1993 at the International Photojournalism Festival, in Perpignan, and in 2008 in Siena, in Piazza del Campo, registering a high number of visitors (57,000).

• In 1997 he began “Tibet Land Of Exile”, one of the most important projects of his career. He will work for eleven years alongside the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan community in Tibet and in exile in Dharamsala.

Tibet Land Of Exile is also the title of the photographic volume that contains a preface by the Dalai Lama, and text by Robert Thurman (2007 Skira, 2008 - Italy and Thames & Hudson in USA) and the traveling exhibition presented, to date, in the most prestigious exhibition spaces of Italy. Forte di Belvedere (Florence), Palazzo Litta (Milan), Palazzo Incontro (Rome) and Palazzo Ducale (Massa and Carrara).Since 2003 Estay has lived between Paris and Florence, where he founded the Nazca Vision Multimedia agency, a dynamic HD film production unit, to develop the documentary and publicity sector, continuing to collaborate with the most important editors of the international press.

Today more than ever, Estay believes in the extraordinary expression of freedom, passion and life seen through the essence of creativity and instinct.
