The singing-dancing Cordova Key Clubbers has once again made their annual trip to Casa Coloma. Casa Coloma is home to approximately 50 elderlies, who all seem to love our caroling Key Clubbers. As we strolled down the hallways singing off-key to “Jingle Bells” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, smiles lit up on the faces of the residents. Kelvin Christmas”, smiles lit up on the faces of the residents. Kelvin Martinez stated “It’s really nice to see the immediate impact of what we’re doing, we’re making others smile and they’re so happy and it’s just another aspect of Christmas, the season of giving.”This event proves to be the most fun yet emotionally challenging. Key clubbers get to entertain and enjoy the residents’ company, but hearing what the residents have to say can sometimes trigger a tear or two. One woman spoke to Matthew Tran and Anh Bui about how her kids rarely visit but that’s because they have their own lives. This situation applies to a lot of the people living at the home, which makes this event that much more memorable and valuable. makes this event that much more memorable and valuable. Not only are we simply Christmas caroling but we are bringing joy to the elderlies. Even if it’s in a small gesture. After all, Christmas is all about the joys of the season.
