A seminar on Stress management through Right Diet was conducted by Dr. ShekharTanwar of Satyug Ayurveda on how to manage stress by following a healthy diet. He emphasized on consuming healthy and hygienic food and highlighted a few steps to remain free from stress. Some of the points discussed are: 1. Eating / having food on time 2. Taking superfast food (Fruits and Salads) in the place of fast food. 3. Chanting the Omkar mantra for the relaxation of mind, body and soul "Samvad" a Hindi workshop was held at Mount Abu Public School, Rohini to highlight: 1. Condition and direction of the Hindi Language. 2. New techniques of teaching Hindi Language in the class rooms. Mrs. Seema Sati and Mrs. Seema Rana attended the workshop and benefitted from the workshop and it was highly appreciated by them. All India Public School Conference Swimming Championship was held at Miles Bronson Residential School, Guwahati, Assam from 19th to 21st July 2016. The Mann School represented in Under 14, 17, and 19 categories and there was total of 17 teams in the Annual Event. Pragyan Sharma of IX B became the champion in100 meter Breast Stroke category by winning the gold medal. Hearty Congratulations to Prgyan. An inter house quiz competition was conducted on 27th July, to enhance the GK of the students. Questions were based on the current affairs. All the houses Buddha, Vyas and Dayanand actively participated in the competition. The contest was closely fought and Dayanand won the first position and Vyas secured the second position. Quiz 2016 held at Birla Vidyamandir, Nainital, Utrakhand on 3rd August 2016. It was a very closely contested event and The Mann School became the 2nd Runners up in the competitions. It

was a learning exposure for all of them. Congratulations to all the students and their guide.

A workshop on life skills was conducted by Miss. Sonali Saini of Psychology department of the Delhi University on 4th August 2016 and all the class XII students actively participated in it. Miss. Sonali, the resource person, captivated the students' attention by the dance movement therapy and art therapy which was something very innovative and mind capturing for the students. The techniques used by the resource person were very relaxing and it was appreciated by all.

A workshop on the advancement of the Technology, titled "A battle between the chalk and the mouse", was organized at the 'Parx Hotel' Delhi, by the Cambridge University Press. It was an introduction to the various courses of Cambridge running in different schools. The workshop was a fruitful one.

1. Personal hygiene of the women folks was the main focus of the community awareness program conducted by the students of the Mann School this year. Girls students of classes XI and XII, under the guidance of their teachers went to the neighboring villages, and talked to the women folks, about the

importance of the personal hygiene in their life, and keeping the surroundings neat and clean, was well appreciated by the people. The awareness program was under the umbrella of the Eco Club of the school.

2. Some sixty students from the school under the guidance of Dr. SaritaTripathi, Third Officers Ruchishankar and Vishaldeep along with Mr. Madhukar, went to Holambi Village to encourage and make the people aware of the importance of planting trees and saying no to

"Janmasthami" was celebrated with great fervour and zeal in the school on 25th August 2016. There were colorful presentations of dance and music by the students under the guidance of Mrs. Pragya Davis and Mr. S.K. Shukla. Mrs. Shalini Priya, compeered the cultural program and led us through the different stages of Lord Krishna's life. The colourful event was graced by the Principal, Cdr. V.K. Banga (Retd.)

Vyas house hogged the thrill of the spot light, by bagging the prestigious 'Young Mozart' trophy for the second consecutive year. The avidly watched inter-house music concert, conducted on 26th August, showcased the knowledge and performing skills of 48 students in the field of instrumental music. Indian classical ragas and western music was the staple the young musicians presented from and on instruments belonging to the eastern and western cultures.

The atmosphere at the venue breathed compositions based on ragas like pilu, yaman, ahir, bhairav, basant- bahar and the western folksongs and symphony. Instruments played-on by performers included Sitar, Santoor, Harmonium, Violin, Spanish Guitar, Jazz-drum, Synthesizer and many others.

Presiding over the 3 hour musical extravaganza Cdr. V K Banga, Principal, reminded the audience that music is a find raining in self-discovery and self-discipline apart from elevating the soul. The concert was adjudged by Mr. Debashis Adhikari

(Regional Program Coordinator, Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh), and Mr. Goldy (Music director/composer Air and TV artist). Mr. Debashis announced the introduation of the MLK user Runner up Trophy further enriching the charm of the young Mozart competition.

Vansh Vashishtha of class IX won the prestigious ‘Student of the Year’ award for the session 2015-16, for his consistent and all round achievements in swimming, chess, declamation, academics and various national and international Olympiads like French, Science, Cyber, Maths and English. Madhumita Bisht of class XII won "The Academic Excellence Award" in the Young Stars Awards 2016 organised by the Scoonews on 15th August 2016 at Jaipur.

51 Cadets of Army Troop of NCC attended the combined annual training camp organized by the first Delhi Armoured Squadron of NCC. The Camp emphasized on drill, weapon training, map reading, first aid, health and hygiene. The Cadets were taken to the Motivational Hall of NCC where they were shown the miniature models of various tanks, ships and aircrafts.

Mapsian cadets proved their metal in all the competitions conducted by the NCC camp and were adjudged second in the cultural events, best in punctuality and lay out and Sergeant Mrinak Parashar was awarded the silver medal for taking his company to the second position. He was also adjudged as 'the best senior' of the Junior Division and won the gold medal. Corporal Anmol was awarded with a special prize for his impressive drill. Corporal Md. Arbaz won the trophy in the mega event of Cross Country by securing the first position. Third Officer Ruchi Shankar of The Mann School was appointed as the Deputy Camp Commandant and Security officer of the camp. The Mann School was adjudged as the best disciplined school and awarded with the Trophy.

On August 30, 2016, all the roads led to Pilani for a national level IPSC English debate at Birla Public School Pilani, Rajasthan. M S was represented by our debaters Ms. Aaradhna Joshi and Ms. Sameksha Tiwari. Both of them debated well and reached in the last six and gave a spirited competition in the final round. They won the hearts of all by their debating skills. 21 teams from all over the country participated in the debates.

This year, IPSC G K test, was hosted by the Mann School. 59 schools participated in the competitions. The test was conducted to keep the students well aware and updated with the latest happenings around the globe along with their text books and knowledge.

Inter house Hindi debate for the senior division was held on 7/9/16. The debaters used their logical and rational knowledge to debate the topics and rebut the opponents. Riya Khatri of11B and Nandini Tushir of 11 D both Vyasians won the first and the

second position respectively.

House positions: Vyas First, Buddha Second and Dayanand secured the third position.

A workshop on Listening Skills was conducted by Ms. Shashi Pant (HM), Mr. Davis and Ms. Kamini S Haldar for the teaching fraternity of the Mann School. The workshop included the importance of listening skills, types and ways to enhance it. The workshop was an eye opener for most of the teachers and it helped us to lend a keen mind & ear to the various issues of the class room teaching. The workshop was well appreciated by all.

One day Teacher Support program was conducted by Cambridge English on 29-9-2016. After the self-introduction by the participants, introduction of Common European Frame of Reference (CEFR) was done. It focused on four aspects of the learners that is Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. It was a learning process for all the participants.

'Master - 26', a comprehensive test of English vocabulary covering pronunciation, spelling, meaning and usage of words, was conducted in

two rounds: Written and Oral. In the Written Round, classes 3rd to 12th took part. In the Oral one, 4- member House teams competed at all three levels: senior, junior and sub junior separately. Master-26 Champions of the year 2016 were: Senior Div. Saurav Gupta, Nandini Tushir, Arsh Dev, and Nancy) House-wise credits: 1st position was secured by Vyas House, Budha house was Second and Dayanad was third.

Six best debaters hailing from the three houses, expectedly, put their argumentative, analytical and thinking skills on display when they were challenged to express themselves at their best. As the results stood, Aaradhna Joshi was declared the best debater and Shaurya of Vyas House, the second best. Housewise credits: Vyas I, Dayanand II, and Budha III

Vyas House senior boys and girls played remarkably skillful matches against rivals and lifted the Basket ball trophy. Notable players were Govind, Jahan, Shivam and Adnan in the senior division and their counterparts among girls were: Zeenat Brar, Delika and Swati Panjiyar.

Captain Buddha House:

Descending from the land of mountains, Rahul landed into The Mann way of life way back in 2010. Ever since then he is in pursuit of his

hot dream to flower into an ace basket baller. No wonder, romancing with basketball sent him to inter school basketball competitions. Yes, he loves band and has represented the school in the IPSC competition of the discipline. He is also the 60th rank holder ICSO at international level. Rahul will give primacy to improvement in academics and smart dressing up of his Buddhian brethren as the two important areas of his motivational efforts as the leader.

Nichols is keen on donning the olive

green one day, towards which, he

says, he is preparing right now for

entry in the Navy Marines. He is devoted to tough

and fast paced sports like cross country,

swimming, basketball, football, athletics and

cricket. He is also good at band and has performed

in the school band. His top priorities for the

housemates will be punctuality, well-mannered,

discipline and to improve the house spirit.

carpets, leather works, shawls,

woodwork, that is Himachal Pradesh, is the captain

girls of the Buddha house. She likes to spend time

in reading books, loves to travel to new places and

admires the differences of culture. Respect to

elders and love to juniors will be the two areas of

Norzom's priority to work in so that the House spirit

gets a fillip.

Nikhil Nathani -

Captain Dayanand:

Coming from one of the finest places in Bihar and the cradle of the Bettiah Gharana-one of the oldest styles of vocal music, Nikhil has imbibed the

quality of music in him. Keeping the quality of his native place, he has participated in "Anuvrat Singing Competition" at the state level and secured the second position. Nikhil has also proved his mettle in Volley ball and captains the school volley ball team. Having learnt the values of discipline, unity and punctuality Nikhil would emphasize on the fellow brothers to observe them in daily life.

Tarunpreet Singh -

Vice Captain Dayanand House: Tarunpreet, the boy from India's Manchester, Ludhiana, joined the school in the year 2011-12. In fact, his aim in life is to live a life of royalty and loyalty. Among his Housemates

Tarun will try to sharpen the competitive spirit, so that Flag house dream of the house can be realized. Improvement in punctuality and discipline will be his other areas of thrust.

Swati Panjiyar -

Captain (Girls) Dayanand House: Swati aims at becoming a successful Psychologist. She has been representing her House in inter house competitions. She is also regular at the basketball and

Volleyball court. Swati has decided to focus on the discipline aspect of her housemates to improve it further. She also will motivate especially juniors to participate in every activity of the school with an eye on the top slot.

Govind Mann -

Captain Vyas House: Tough and taciturn, observant and studious Govind would do his best, to join defense forces, and so would avail all chances to enter the NDA portals. A

sporting youth, he brilliantly performed in IPSC Cricket, loves to play the band and is quite skillful in gymnastics. Govind commands spontaneous respect among Vyasians that is so essential for successful leadership. He will urge upon his mates to put in every effort to bring the Flag house honour back to Vyas House this year.

Kunzes Dolma -

Captain (Girls) Vyas House: Hailing from the charming Leh - Ladakh, Kunzes joined the MS family in 2015 and soon she became the Centre of leadership qualities for the classmates. She has participated in

table tennis and became the best table tennis player of the year (Girls). She has also shown her flavor in Tennis, athletics, and in the inter house band competitions. Asked about her agenda for the House, she said, she would urge upon her mates to go for academic improvement in a big way.

StanzinNinchat -

Vice Captain Vyas House: A boy of his parents, work minded and with a serious mind Stanzin opted for humanities because he believes he is cut out for an army officer post his studies. Good at football, he

represented the school at the IPSC level. Volley ball, Cricket, Cross country, athletics and band are other disciplines he loves to indulge. As for his agenda for the House, Ninchat will focus on motivating housemates to work harder in studies and earnestly participate in all competitions with heightened positivity and go for victory.
