Dear Church Family,
As we hear predictions of a pandemic causing a stock market crash to presidential election woes and
recovery from flooding, I draw on the words of Jesus in Mark 5:36. In the face of overwhelming sadness
and discouragement, Jesus says, “Do not fear, only believe.” The most repeated command in the entire
bible is, “Don’t be afraid.” Our fear cripples us. We can fear most anything. Jesus has said that He is
with us no matter what and that He will never leave us or forsake us. Jesus has said that we have noth-
ing to fear. We may know that to be true but we have trouble believing it. Knowing a piece of infor-
mation and truly believing it are very different. Believing in Jesus is not simply agreeing with the idea
that He came to save the world, but it is believing that He is who He said He is and has accomplished
what He said He accomplished. You must also believe that you are who He says you are. Today may
you hear Jesus saying to you, “Do not fear, only believe.”

March Mission of the Month March’s mission focus is our Annual Honduras Mission Trip! Our team plans to travel again to Tegucigalpa, Honduras July 4—11 to work alongside
our Honduran sisters and brothers. Because the Methodist Mission Headquarters that they have worked on for several years is largely complete, they have the opportunity to engage with other important projects and communities in need of help. More details to come once planning is complete! You can help by attending our annual Honduras Luncheon on Sunday, March 29 (see above), with your prayers, and with your financial gifts.
