January - July 2014
Imports (Jan-July 2014) • In the first seven months of 2014, Belize
imported goods totalling $1.14 billion.
• The largest increases were in the ‘Machinery and Transport Equipment’ category ($20.3 mn) and ‘Mineral Fuels and Lubricants’ ($20.2 mn).
• The only two categories to show a decline were: ‘CFZ imports’ ($26.2 mn) & ‘Chemical Products’ ($3.8 mn).

Belize imports by origin• Our largest source of
imports was the USA with $346 mn or 30% of the total imports ($6mn).
• $174mn or 15% of imports came from Central America ($24mn). Guatemala recorded the largest absolute increase of $18.5 mn.
• Curaçao accounted for $161mn or 14% of imports.
Domestic Exports (Jan-July 2014)
• Export revenues totaled $390.3 million. • Decrease of $55.4 million or 12.4% over
2013.

• Crude petroleum, Sugar and Orange concentrate combined for a decrease of $49mn of the total $55.4 mn decrease.
• Receipts from minor exports increased by $1mn to $53mn.
• Animal feed exports accounted for $16mn.
Exports by destination (Jan-July)• The EU was our
largest source of revenue with $156mn or 40% of exports.
• The USA accounted for $140mn or 36% of export receipts.
