■ Most videos have a narrative along with the performance of the music. However,

most music videos will mainly just have a theme. They usually contain links

between the visual picture and the lyrics.

Performance:

■ Most alternative-pop music videos contain a lot of performance elements as it

shows the importance of the artists. There is also a large focus on makeup, hair

and fashion.

Mise-en-scene

■ Lighting is a key factor of the music video, especially in the performance stage as

it brings emphasis on the artist.

Camerawork

■ Usually contain a wide range of shots to show the image of the artist. During the

narrative, there is usually a lot of wide shots to show the setting.

■ Many uses of close ups to demonstrate that the artists is the main focus.
