Education / Qualifications

• Registered Nurse • Preparation for Mentorship course

(or ability to complete) • Relevant post registration

specialist course or significant relevant experience

• Specialist course such as Cardiac, HDU or respiratory

Skills/ Abilities

• The ability to effectively function as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

• The ability to assess patients; develop, implement and evaluate a plan of care.

• The ability act as a clinical leader • The ability to communicate

effectively. • The ability to effectively prioritise

own workload, and the workload of others

• The ability to safely administer medicines in accordance with NMC Guidelines for the administration of medicines (2002).

• The ability to keep accurate records in accordance with NMC Guidelines for records and record keeping (2002)

AF/I

Experience • Substantive nursing experience as a Band 5 staff nurse in an acute setting.

• Cardiac Monitoring and ECG interpretation experience.

Knowledge • Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues

• A level of nursing knowledge consistent with required post registration experience and continued learning.

• NMC Code of Conduct. • Commitment to adhere to Trust

Policies and Procedures. • Commitment to further

professional development.
