When I was a freshman I would walk around cam-pus every day, looking at the students passing me by, not recognizing any of them. I was enthralled by those who would yell out to their friends down the side-walk, stopping to chat on their way to class. I felt as if I would never know enough people at UNH to be able to pick familiar faces out of the crowd of students, and would forever be over-whelmed by the thousands of students who crossed my path
each day.A few short years later, it is hard to imagine having ever
felt this way. I am now that student who stops to say hello to friends everywhere I go. I run into acquaintances every day from the hallways of academic buildings, to the streets of Durham, to the dining halls.
It may seem unimaginable to you right now in this new and foreign environment, but soon UNH will be your com-munity too. Durham will be your home and you will feel as comfortable here as you did in the hallways of your high school.
The Wildcat community is here to embrace you, so let it. Take advantage of every opportunity that you come across, no matter how small or large. If someone new invites you to have lunch with him or her and their friends, join them. The worst that can happen is you have an awkward meal.
Maybe you discover a student organization that would be perfect for you, but dont have a friend who wants to join with you. Go alone. Meet new people; they could become your best friends.

The UNH Outdoor Pool was announced as one of the winners of the New Hampshire Preservation Alliances Seven to Save program for 2013 on Tuesday night at the Manchester Masonic Temple in Manchester, N.H.

For the last six weeks, the members of the Jessie Doe Activity Board have been busy at work preparing for the 21st annual Jessie Doe Haunted House, a one-night event.
There is a lot to put together in the six-week period leading up to the haunted house. The blueprints for the haunted house have to be put together, temporary walls and props have to be inventoried, permits need to be led, the re department needs to be met with, the police need to be contacted, advertising needs to be determined and missing props need

Bethany Bucciarelli, the executive director of SCOPE, before the doors opened and the students were let in to the Whittemore Center
for Thursday nights show. After months and months of planning, and a year of being on hiatus, SCOPE came back big with their fall concert.
Although the crowd wasnt big when the doors rst opened, the oor became packed by
