Thursday, November 29 Route 1 : Wat Nong Waeng – Sila Community – Wat Chai Sri 09.00 hrs. Depart for Wat Nong Waeng 09.30 hrs. Visit Wat Nong Waeng, the royal

temple located the 9 storeys of stupa called “Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon”. The top floor, on 9th storey houses relics of the Lord Buddha. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Khon Kaen town from there.

10.00 hrs. Proceed towards Sila Community 10.30 hrs. Arrive at Sila Community, a peaceful village by Lam Nam Phong River. This

village is the main flower planting area of Khon Kaen. Try making a floral garland. Learn local wisdom and ways of life by trying to do some hand-made items such as Tung Maeng Mum, the colorful Northeastern-style flag in spider web shape, used to decorate and be a part of Buddhist rituals. Try cooking local food, such as Khao Tom Mud – a Thai dessert of seasoned steamed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, Khanom Nom Sao or Stuffed Dough Pyramid Dessert. Learn to wrap the mixture with banana leaves and the method of traditional steaming.

12.00 hrs. Enjoy lunch in Sila Community, taste Iocal food to experience pure Isan

flavours. 13.30 hrs. Visit the ancient 91- year-old ‘Sim’ or chapel of Wat Pho Sri Temple in

the village which is outstanding with its folk architecture. Participate a traditional ritual with your own handmade garland.

14.00 hrs. Continue to “Wat Chai Sri” in Ban Sawathi, Muang District 14.30 hrs. See the ancient ‘Sim’ ( Ubosot or the place

for Buddhist monks to perform their activities ) of Wat Chai Sri with full-area of ancient murals displaying about Sin Sai story. Enjoy Mor Lam Local Performance and learn local dancing.

15.30 hrs. Back to Khon Kaen city 16.00 hrs. Arrive at hotel
