It’s our Dream Offering and your chance to give towards the future facilities of Hope City Church. This Dream Offering is very special as it is our opportunity to purchase five acres of land in Sheffield that will become the foundation of our brand new 1500-seater auditorium and campus development. ▶NEXT PAGE

ONE FIELDWe have been on this journey for a while, setting our sights on a ‘Megaplex’ type facility that would house thou-sands of people every weekend and become the hub of a city church, a regional church and a church that stands out as a voice to our nation.

Hope City Sheffield has released scores of leaders across the nation and the world. Each of our other Locations are pioneered by Sheffielders. We’ve trained hundreds in discipleship and leadership and, on top of all of this, provided all of the initial leadership of the highly successful !Audacious Church in Manchester. There is something powerful resting on Hope City Sheffield. With a huge, sacrificial investment given by each individual, couple and family who calls Hope City their home, we can easily raise the one million pounds necessary to purchase the land to further the vision.

Imagine thousands saved each year, tens of congregations being planted across the nation and the world, hundreds more leaders trained, cities in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire touched afresh for Jesus as well as a vision reaching the influential in the nation. Is there any reason why we can’t see all that we dream come to pass? Let’s rise up together like never before, dig deep in generosity, sow richly in faith and be servant in prayer as we approach what will be our biggest landmark to date – The Dream Offering!

A LETTER FROM THE

SHEFFIELD LEAD PASTORS

I have a hunch that in two decades time, conversations will be had between families, colleagues and friends about the cause of an unprecedented move of God that has so deeply impacted not just the city of Sheffield, but the entire region.

I have a feeling that these conversations will be filled with gratitude towards the group that called themselves “The Company of Dream-ers”.  

Twenty years from now, we will stand in our church auditorium sur-rounded by thousands of people who have joined us on our journey. We will celebrate every weekend as hundreds of people come to know Christ. And as we look around at our friends and family who fill the seats around us, we will look back on moments like Sunday 29th March 2015 and realise that it was in those moments that our selfless generosity created a spark that God used to light up a city.

I have never been more certain that our future is inescapably huge. I am fully persuaded that God will take this group of believers – this Company of Dreamers – to champion His name, raise up His church and call the lost home in an incomparable way. Today, we find our-selves in a field of incredible opportunity and untold possibility.

We read in the Old Testament that Ruth devoted herself to gathering wheat from the field that she found herself in. Her faithful actions led to her marrying the owner of the field, and becoming a part of the lineage of Jesus Christ. The truth is that when we are faithful with our field, God is triumphant in our future.

This March, we will make a choice to stand in our field through

extraordinary sacrificial giving. We will raise one million pounds to secure five acres of land, where we will build our 1500-seater audito-rium and campus. Our hopes are high and our vision is huge but, like Ruth, we will never be able to fully grasp the scope or extent of what God is about to do in Hope City Sheffield and in our lives.

Beth and I are so excited as we prepare to purchase 12 fields, repre-senting 1,200 square feet of land. We know that we will be stand-ing alongside hundreds of others who will throw themselves with extreme generosity into securing the future of thousands of people across our region.

We can do this.

THE STRATEGY

We want to purchase five acres of land in the Waverley region of Sheffield and Rotherham, near Morrisons on the parkway.

▶ Five acres is 2000 Fields of Dreams.

▶ Each Field represents a person saved and re-stored by God through church.

▶ The total cost of five acres is £1,000,000.

▶ One Field of Dreams = £500 or £40 per month.▶ Four Fields of Dreams = £2,000 - one family▶ Ten Fields of Dreams = £5,000 - one row of seats

Every year we jointly commit to the task of resourcing the vision that God has given us. When we work together in unity we can build something that enables God to reach the world and become reconciled to Him. Giving to The Dream Offering will both unite you with a community of believers that will become more and more like the family your soul was born for, as well as set you up for personal blessings. To invest generously col-lides you with hundreds of prom-ises in God’s Word. Jesus struck a covenant on the cross through his blood to look after you and bless you, yet it’s our sacrifice that puts us in the place of faith that God wants to bless. We don’t earn it; we reposition ourselves to receive it.

How can you be a part of the Dream Offering 2015?

1. Pray and Consider the level of giving you feel is both appropriate to your budget as well as appropriate to the dream you feel within your heart for God’s church, your city and your own life.

2. Choose a Way to Give. Regular monthly giving via standing order is the most successful way to fulfil your com-mitment to the Dream Offering. This can be done by setting up a standing order with your bank.

A single donation is also a great way to give. Or you can give both a single sacrificed donation and mix it with regular monthly giving to create a powerful act of personal generosity and responsibility.

3. One Time Donations and Sunday Offerings. You can always give in the comfort of your own home using the account information found on the offer-ing envelopes. You can also give using the envelope system on a weekend by ticking on the envelope what you want your money to go towards.

FAQsDO I HAVE TO INVEST IN A MINIMUM OF ONE FIELD?

To begin with, all giving comes from the heart and there is no compulsion whatsoever to give. This is a Dream Offering and open to all who share in the dream of seeing the facilities of Hope City Church expanded and developed through our field sponsorship program.

If you can’t invest in a single field, we have made provision for you to make an investment that goes towards a single field. It will be added to all of the other ‘part field’ investments to create rows and rows of fields for the vision.

WHAT ABOUT THE GIFT AID ON ALL THE MONEY I GIVE?

If you are a UK Tax payer and you have filled out the Gift Aid section on the regular offer-ing envelopes previously, or on the Dream Offering pledge form, then Hope City Church can claim an extra 25% of your gift as a tax return.

A majority of this Gift Aid will go towards the land purchase for our new Sheffield Campus: Additionally we will be supporting:-

a) Our Christmas Giveaway. We will be giving away gifts both large and small each Sunday in December in all of our Locations. This is a follow on from our annual Night of Honour vision in celebrating the unsung heroes of our cities and regions.

b) Our commitment to the personal support for Joel and Emma Burden in Kuala Lumpur, which includes transportation and living requirements.

c) A new church plant called Resurgence Church in Montreal Canada. Andrew and Vanessa Hoyes, originally from Generation Church on the Gold Coast of Australia (now Hillsong Gold Coast) have felt a huge burden to plant a new church in Canada and it would be our privilege to give a two-year commit-ment towards it.

d) Disaster Relief. We believe that we need to have finances ready at hand to give towards misfortune in countries across the world in 2015.

e) Discretional Giving. We need to direct our finances to particular needs now and then in certain Locations. This will enable us to do so without straining the budget flow of finance.

PBHOW DO I KNOW THAT MY MONEY WILL BE USED WISELY AND USED WITH INTEGRITY?

All of the accounts of Hope City Church which includes Megacentre Ltd, City Hearts, and Mega-Nursery, as well as Hope City Church are annually audited by the accountancy firm – UHY Wingfield Slater. They meet the strict standards of the Charities Commission and are scrutinised to the highest of standards.

Our Finance Department is led by Sarah Dunys and the team are trained regularly in proper, efficient procedures in all financial matters. Sarah comes un-der the Senior Leadership team of Hope City Church (Dave and Jenny Gilpin, Colin Blois, Chris Denham), the trustees of the Charity (Paul Benger (Christian Life Church, Chesterfield), Colin Davies, Chris Davies and Roger Davies (no-relation) as well as Dave Gil-pin) as well as the general oversight of C3 Europe led by Simon and Valerie McIntyre (C3 London).

IF I GIVE REGULARLY, HOW LONG IS MYCOMMITMENT?

In all Locations except for Frankfurt and Accra, your commitment is for 12 months. If you are a part of our Frankfurt and Accra Location, your commitment is for 6 months.

WHAT IF I CANNOT FULFIL MY PLEDGE?

Every location has a Dream Offering Manager who is dedicated to helping people navigate the water and deliver on their commitments. If you feel like you cannot fulfil your pledge through ‘out of control’ debt or through over-enthusiasm, we would suggest you extend the time taken to fulfil your pledge by seeing the Dream Offering Manager.

We believe that with ‘out of control’ debt, your first priority after tithing is to see a debt counsellor or the like and resolve your difficulties through both prayer and sound financial management. After that has happened your commitments can then be prioritised to prevent you from re-entering the debt cycle.

WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALITY?

All of our records are kept with the strictest of confidence and a code of conduct in our finance department. Only those who are set to manage The Dream Offering can access the records.

I AM NEW TO CHURCH. SHOULD I BE GIVING TO THE DREAM OFFERING?

It’s completely up to you. Some people jump in and enjoy the speed of getting right into the life flow of the church while others are more tentative. It all

depends upon your choice and your desires. Please feel no compulsion to give and no guilt at all if you chose not to.

We build Hope City Church on vision first, com-mitment second. Without a word of inspiration, all you get is high perspiration. And we don’t want you sweating. So look to the Holy Spirit and do what you feel right to do.

WHAT IF I’M NOT HERE ON DREAM OFFERING SUNDAY?

You can give before the Sunday using the pledge form or on Catch Up Sunday, which is the week after. This year, catch up Sunday is on Easter Sunday 05 April.
