Earth Day at Loudoun

Dominion has been a sponsor of Earth Day at Loudoun for the past five years to promote environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable living among county residents and businesses. Dominion supports this event as a sponsor and an active participant, promoting our Green Power program. Nature Generation Grant

Dominion is a partner with The Nature Generation. Through this relationship, Dominion is underscoring the value of environmental stewardship and making it accessible to youth. The Nature Generation received an environmental grant through Dominion’s competitive Environmental Grants Program. With help from Dominion, the Nature Generation proposed establishing the first monarch waystation at the Chapman DeMary Trail in downtown Purcellville in response

to the rapidly diminishing natural habitat for monarch butterflies. The environmental science project will engage and empower students and citizens to understand the plight of the monarch and

take action. The Nature Generation volunteers have begun the installation of a pollinator plot and monarch butterfly way-stations on the Chapman DeMary Trail. This new habitat will provide food and shelter for a variety of pollinating creatures, and will also bring many stewardship and educational opportunities for students, scouts, and residents.

Dominion’s Project Plant It!

Eleven schools and more than 1,300 students in Loudoun County are participating in Project Plant It! this year. Project Plant It! is a partnership between Dominion, the Arbor Day Foundation and elementary schools in regions served by the company.
