You are not alone

Let’s face it, your customers are used to and expect to receive their order as soon as possible. So, whether you are a

pure e-commerce business or both e-commerce and Brick & Mortar you have to be on top of your game and be able to

get your products to your customer as soon as possible.

HOW DO YOU DO THIS?

DC Model

All orders ship from your distribution center(s)

How can you be more efficient, effective and cost conscience in a DC environment?

1) Efficient

Automation: If shipping a minimum of 2500 packages daily you should seriously look at automation and the

labor savings involved in that. The PACjacket is a great solution.

Page 3: E-commerce Packaging and Shipping

2) Effective

If you are not quite ready for automation (don’t

have the space or budget), let’s look at the next

best thing, poly bags on a wicket. A non-expensive

way to increase your fulfillment speeds by outfitting

your packing stations with wicket stands.

3) Cost conscience

DIM weight changes are here. Time to stop over packaging with boxes and dunnage.

Think outside of the BOX... BETTER YET, GET OUT OF THE BOX AND INTO THE BAG!

– Poly Bags for apparel

– Larger poly/poly bubble bags for shoe box overwraps

– Bubble mailers for shipments that need a little extra protection

– Paperboard mailers for gift card orders

– Rigid Airjackets for products that need a little extra protection and rigidity

– 2-way mailers for an easier customer return experience

– Poly Bags with die cut handle for in-store pick up

THINKING AND GETTING OUT OF THE BOX AND YOU WILL SEE THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS

– Right sizing your package

 Save $ on materials

 Save $ on shipments (DIMS)

– Using mailers vs. boxes/dunnage

 Save $ on packing materials

Save $ and space on warehousing/shipping

– Save $ and time on fulfillment

Steps involved using a box vs. a bag: 5 vs. 3

¢ BOX STEPS

1. Erect and tape box

2. Fill with dunnage

3. Put in product and paperwork

4. Tape box

5. Adhere label

¢ BAG STEPS

1. Put in product and paperwork

2. Peal and seal

3. Adhere label

E-comm (DC) and Brick & Mortar and/or in-store pick up

Best of both worlds: you can ship from your DC(s) and/or your store(s), if the store is closer, holds the inventory and the

packaging materials, the customer can get it even sooner or pick it up themselves.

How great that you can give your customer the option of saving on shipping and just picking up from your store. Also, this

gives you a chance to value add/upsell (get customers to buy more products from you while “picking up” the item they

ordered online)

Let’s take a closer look

– How is your store(s) set up?

– Packing room in the back?

– Packing at a register?

– How much room do you have for packing?

– Do you have room for boxes and dunnage?

Space is expensive and at a premium

– Does the packer/sales associate have any idea about shipping costs, DIM weights,

or what box/bag to choose from?

When taking a closer look, it goes back to: How can you be more efficient, effective and cost conscience in a retail

environment? We stated ways to do this in a DC environment, but with a retail environment it is a bit trickier.

That is where PAC Worldwide comes in. We can do a full packaging audit. Packaging is what we do and we are experts

at it. We want you to focus on retail, which you are the expert at and let us help with the packaging solutions.
