MonaP@firstpres.cc / 954-598-9345 Save the Date: Cathedral Choir & Orchestra Spring Concert Sunday aſternoon, March 29 at 4 pm Point-In-Time Update At the end of last month First Pres members took part in the Broward County Point-in-Time Count, an unduplicated count on a single night of the people in a community who are experiencing homelessness that includes both sheltered and unsheltered populaons. Here is a short reflecon on the experience from Robert Jackson, Mission Team Chair: I was really impressed with the police officer that went with us (I did a night shiſt in Lauderhill). He is Lauderhill’s homeless specialist on their force, and you could really tell he cared...he was really sweet with all the homeless guys we talked with. It is really encouraging to know we have folks like him on the force. One of the guys I interviewed had been homeless for over 15 years, and I suspect he had some sort of learning or mental disability that would keep him from finding employment. Another guy I interviewed had only been on the streets a lile over a week, because of issues with his family, but I suspect it’s just temporary for him. Both guys were really friendly and talkave, but sadly they both admied they’d been aacked before while homeless. The vibe I got from the organizers and training made it seem like the PIT count was just as much about geng average people on the streets talking to homeless people, as it was about collecng data for HUD (US Department of Housing and Urban Development). I think this is great. I was told the homeless are so starved for conversaon, for people actually caring about what they had to say, which explains why they were so talkave. I’m looking forward to parcipang again next year. Now that I know what’s really involved, I’ll definitely try to recruit more friends and others as well. The PIT volunteers can definitely be a blessing just by chang with those that are so far at the margins of our community.” SUNDAY 9:30AM - Middle School Sunday School / The Harbor 5:00PM Middle School Youth Group / The Harbor Kirk Singers Practice / Choir Room 6:00PM - 6:30PM $5 Dinner / Fellowship Hall 6:30PM High School Youth Group / The Harbor Chapel Singers Practice / Choir Room SUNDAY SCHOOL 9:30AM Pre K3 - Pre K4: Room NC-120 K - 5th grade: Room NC-224 WEDNESDAY EVENINGS Glow Kids Wednesdays PreK4 - Kindergarten 6:00PM / St Andrews Room Mission Possible Kids MPK Wednesdays 1st - 5th grade 6:00PM / NC-200 (craft room) ADULTS WOMEN’S MINISTRY Christian Women Connect Thursday morning Bible study New session begins Feb 27 9:45AM Fellowship 10:00AM Study and reflection Study & Renewal Center Pebbles of Faith Evening Bible Study “Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David” Fourth Tuesdays of the month. 6:00PM / Room NC-218 Potluck dinner, study and discussion SUNDAY MORNINGS Matthew for Everyone Small Group Bible study 9:30AM / Bininger Room BC Talk (Bible & Coffee Talk) Do you know who wrote the Bible?
