REBBETZIN’S CORNER

Dear YIEB Families,

Living in East Brunswick for the last two and

to not only create friendships with the

members of YIEB but to be involved with

various educational programs and initiatives

at the Shul. Over the last number of months,

I have been actively involved with the

time, I have some concern about the

Mikvah’s future. The physical state of the

Mikvah is deteriorating; there is a need for a

new dehumidification system, there are

corroded coils and the titles are damaged.

It’s not the beautiful and attractive Mikvah

that it once was. I have worked together with

YIEB COMMUNITY STRATEGIC PLANNING

its appreciation to the membership for the

strong participation in the Community

Strategic Planning Survey. The survey was

closed on April 6th. 75% of individuals in the

Shul responded to the survey and 90% of

Please make note of the following

congregational meetings:

1. Tuesday 4/23 8 PM - New roof for

the YIEB Educational Wing – As many of you

are aware, we have been having problems

with the educational wing roof leaking. We

anticipate that the cost of the roof

replacement will exceed $10,000 and as

such requires congregational approval.

2. Wednesday 5/29 8 PM:

• The slate of board of director

nominees for the 2013/2014 fiscal year will

be presented.

• Amendment to YIEB Constitution -

discussion and approval of a proposed

amendment to the Constitution of the

Congregation to eliminate a provision that

currently requires that, if the Congregation

ceases to exist, any net assets of the

Congregation shall inure to the National

Council of Young Israel (NCYI). We are now

amending our Constitution because NCYI

recently voted, 67-1-1, to amend its charter

to eliminate this requirement, thus

authorizing branches like YIEB to remove

such provisions from their governing

documents. Approval of this Amendment

requires the consent of 2/3 of the members

voting at the meeting.

3. Thursday 6/27 8:45 PM:

• Slate of board of director nominees

for the 2013/2014 fiscal year will be voted

on.

• Budget presentation – The

Treasurer will review the 2012/2013 results

and introduce the 2013/2014 budget for

congregational approval.
