Adults and General

Holy Innocents-Fall Fair October 18

th

Sale will open at 10:00 a.m. Tea/coffee and muffins or tea buns will be available. There will be various tables including: baked goods; homemade candy; crafted items (including Christmas and Halloween); new to you (good quality items that you no longer need); toonie table*. We are also again planning to sell tickets on a Basket of Towels and will need donations of kitchen and bathroom towels, etc. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. — 1 p.m. Soup, sandwiches and dessert Tea or coffee $8.00 adults; $5.00 children (Chicken nuggets and fries will also be available) Children. There will be children’s activities in the afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m. Theme: Kids Crazy Hat Komotion Young people are encouraged to wear their favourite, weird or wonderful hat to the Komotion. Events/games: Hat making...to be worn in church on Sunday Prizes Loot bags Fish pond Candy table...fill your bag with delicious candy Popcorn Crafts Test your Nerf skills Games Tattoos And...magician Cost: $2.00 per child. Fall Basket Draw Holy Innocents will be selling tickets on a "Fall Basket Draw" which is $250.00 worth of liquor. Tickets are only $1.00 each, 2500 tickets to be hopefully sold. Draw date is December 12th, just in time for Christmas!

Upcoming Ordination Bishop Geoff Peddle is pleased to announce that on October 16, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, St. John’s, he will be ordaining the Rev. Keith Sheppard to the Order of Priest and Dr. David Bell to the Order of Deacon. God willing, on Sunday, October 19th, Rev. Keith will be presiding at his first service of Holy Eucharist here at the Church of The Holy Innocents at 10:30 a.m. Following the service we will be having a fellowship hour.

Queen’s College Convocation

Queen’s College Convocation will be held on Thursday, November 6

th, 2014, 8:00 p.m. at St. Michael and

All Angel’s, 75 Kiwanis Street, St. John’s.

Chaplaincy Services at Hospitals in St. John’s

When you are being admitted to a hospital in St. John’s you will be asked “While you are admitted to hospital, would you like to have a visit from a chaplain or pastoral care worker?” Be sure to say “Yes” if you would like a pastoral visit. You will then be asked to identify your religion and your name will be added to the chaplain’s visita-tion list and you will then receive a visit from the denominational chaplain within a day or two.

INFINITELY MORE On Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:30 P.M., the Parish of St. John the Evangelist, Topsail will host three-time Covenant Award Nominee, Infinitely More, for a night of inspirational entertainment. Husband and wife duo, Gerald Flemming and Allison Lynn, create a fresh new sound for the church. Their music will encourage and inspire both the seeker and the lifelong Christian. Tickets for the concert cost $10.00. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall with freewill donations towards the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. October is Autism Awareness month. St. Augustine's Fall Fair Supper and Gospel Concert St. Augustine's Fall Fair Supper and Gospel Concert is being held on Sat, Oct 18. Supper starts at 5:30 with the concert to follow at 7 pm. Ecumenical Worship— St. John The Evangelist Church An ecumenical service at St. John The Evangelist Anglican Church, Topsail C.B.S. on Sunday Oct. 19,2014 at 7:00 p.m. This service is in memory of Juliane Hibbs who lost her life on Oct. 15, 2013 and all women who have been killed or suffering abuse through domestic and relationship violence.

CLB Anniversary Parade

The CLB Anniversary Parade will take place at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on October 19, 3pm. Doors open and 2. Clergy are encouraged to robe. This service is open to all parishes/parishioners regardless if they have a CLB company.

Lady Cove Women's Choir Presents We Got the Beat!

Members of Lady Cove Women's Choir will soon sing together in concert for the first time since their award-winning performances at the World Choir Games in Riga Latvia, where the group took home two gold medals in July. On Sunday, October 19

th the choir will be breaking out of the box,

with dynamic music inspired by contemporary, folk, and pop mu-sic, that will include the addition of a brass quintet, body percus-sion, hand bells, djembe, gong and even beat boxing. The concert takes place 3:00 p.m.,October 19

th at Cochrane

“Women Doin’ Men” In partnership with the Spirit of Newfoundland, The Agnes Pratt Home Foundation is hosting a private showing of the musical tribute “Women Doin’ Men” on October 23 at 7 pm Doors open at 6:30

This is a fundraiser to benefit the major renovation of the Fairhaven Unit at The Agnes Pratt Home.

A musical tribute to the men of Rock N’ Roll, Spirit of Newfound-

land Productions, brings you the musical works of some of the

greatest male singers of all time - Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson,

Freddy Mercury, Roy Orbison, Stevie Wonder, George Jones and

many others.

St. Mary's Church—Annual Fall Fair

St. Mary's Church, Craigmillar Ave., will be holding its Annual Fall Fair on Sat. Oct. 25th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in the Church

Auditorium. Wonderful stalls including baked goods, a

Newfoundland Stall, jewellery, sewn and knitted items, books and other surprises. Morning coffee and lunch. Please note our

famous Salad Buffet Supper will be served on Saturday, Nov. 1.; sittings at 4:30 PM & 6:30 PM. Supper tickets are $15 until Oct. 26th - after this date they are $18. Please call the Church Office at 579-0039 for information and tickets. Come along and bring a friend!
