Why have we started?● We feel concern for the educated society● We go for competitive Lithuania in EU and the

whole world● Encourage Internet usage – encourage the

development of the economy● We want to decrease the growing digital divide in

Cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Interior to increase the number of W2F public internet access points

Agreement with the Ministry of Education on cooperation in organizing large-scale internet trainings.

What is a “Langas į ateitį” PIAP?● 2-3-4 PCs with Internet access located in local government offices,

libraries,community centers,museums, hospitals, post offices, sale points SIMAS

● The PIAP provides free Internet access to the visitors● The PIAP is likely to be a key institution for the local rural

community● The PIAP (and/or local government) is responsible for the

expenses to run the PIAP (premises, part of an Internet monthly fee, staff)

● Main activities: Information search,e mail for communication,PIAP is used for local community purposes (OSF, EU projects); computer literacy courses; LIBIS – library info search; games
