RSL Edible Book Festival 2016 – Rules and Entry Form

1. All entries must be edible. (The occasional non-edible prop is allowed).

2. All entries must be related to books: o either shaped like a book o or inspired by the content of a book, i.e. characters, scenes, storylines or text.

3. Entries should not need any additional care (e.g. refrigeration) during the festival. (They will be on display for 2-3 hours.)

4. Participants should bring entries to the RSL Lounge between 9:00 and 11:00 on Thursday 3 March. Contact the library to enquire about alternative drop off times if necessary.

5. Entries must be accompanied by an entry form – see below.

6. After drop off, all entries are relinquished by participants and will be photographed and eaten by festival visitors.

7. All members of the University are invited to enter – students, staff (including Bodleian Libraries staff) – and external readers with a Bod card.

8. Participants may enter individually or in groups, and multiple entries from the same person are allowed (subject to available exhibition space).

9. By entering the competition you are granting permission for the RSL to photograph your Edible Book (and you, if you are a prize-winning entrant), with the possibility of use on the RSL website or publication.

10. We encourage you to bring an actual copy of the book your Edible Book is inspired by to display next to it. If you are unable to bring a copy, don’t worry, we may be able to provide one.
