Obituary"After the clouds, the sunshine, after the winter, the spring; after the shower, the rainbow; for life is a changeable thing. After the night, the morning, bidding all darkness cease; after life’s cares and sorrows; the comfort and sweetness of peace.”

On Saturday, August 21, 1993, at 8:45 p.m., Mr. Brian Keith Oatman, Sr., entered into peaceful rest at the Augusta Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Oatman was the son of Mrs. Susie Mae Oatman and the late Mr. Jetson Oatman. He was a native of Augusta, Georgia and a salesman at Rex Appliances.

He was a honor graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School. During the 1971-72 season, he was quarterback for the championship football team. He attended St. Paul College in Virginia, and was a graduate of Kerr Business College.

He was married to the former Patricia McGahee. To this union two children were born.

He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Augusta, Georgia.

"When my day is done, I would like the memory of me to be a happy one. I would like to leave an afterglow of smiles when my day is done. I would like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days. I would like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun, of happy memories I leave behind... when my day is done. ”

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Patricia McGahee Oatman, Martinez, Ga.; a son, Brian Keith Oatman, Jr., Martinez, Ga.; two daughters, Ryan Nikia Oatman, Martinez, Ga. and Adrian Hankerson, New York; one granddaughter, Niesha Hankerson, New York; mother, Susie Mae Oatman, Augusta, Ga.; sister, Sharon L.
