    Canara Bank is a leading public sector bank established on July 1, 1906 in the town of

    Mangalore in Karnataka by hri !""e"bal ubba #ao $ai, an e"inent lawyer,

    educationist and social refor"er% &he bank has already co"pleted 100 years of ser'ice% (t

    pro'ides all sorts of financial ser'ices ranging fro" loans to insurance% )or the year

    March *00+, the Bank clocked the highest net profit #s%1--. crore/ a"ong nationalied

    banks% et profit for the year March *002 was #s 1109 Crores%

    &he report basically deals with the organiation study of Canara bank% (t "entions about

    the brief introduction to banking industry, history of the bank, depart"ents, organiation

    structure, and details about products 3 ser'ices% ! brief 'iew of the 4#5 practices of the

    bank has been gi'en in the report% &he report also contains the financial perfor"ance of

    the bank for last * years%

    5uring the study a sur'ey was conducted to find out the training effecti'eness%

    uestionnaire was used to collect data fro" respondents% #espondents were officials,

    Banking in (ndia has an early origin where the indigenous bankers

    played a 'ery i"portant role in lending "oney and financing foreign trade and co""erce%

    waiting for loans to be realied% &he new law will also help the" in setting up asset
