1.1.1.3 Social
One of the favourable effects from the first industrial revolution towards the social is the
construction of workhouse. A workhouse is an institution for the people who was unable
to support himself. The people get fed in the workhouse by working for the factories.
Thus, people get something to depends to support themselves.
The Rise of the Art during the first industrial revolution, Artists, during the Industiral
revolution reacts to the feelings of the time, as well as to the movement which had
preceded it and also to protects the ideals such as discipline, temperance, structure and
views of the Enlightenment. They translated all these reactions into arts such as Neo-
Classicism, Romanticism, Realism, and Pre-Raphaelite, which encouraged
individualism, freedom, and emotion towards the industrial revolution.
1.1.2.3 Social
Environmental hazards are first caused by the first industrial revolution, however, these
hazards would only be seen clearly years later. Factories and mass production has led to
a depletion of some natural resources which caused the environment permanently
damaged. For example, deforestation. The effects of deforestation has caused the
wildlife in the forest lost their habitat, besides that, carbon and oxygen emission level
has also loses it's balanced.
Health issues is getting heavier by the caused of first industrial revolution. This is
probably the chain effects of the environmental hazard and also overload of the labour.
Death and illness rate has increased rapidly due to a chronic lack of hygiene, little

knowledge of sanitary care and no knowledge as to what caused diseases, people just let
alone cure them. Disease such as cholera, typhoid and typhus.
1.2.1.3 Social
Unlike the arts during the first industrial revolution, the Impressionism and Post
Impressionism has appeared and replaced the artistic movement from first industrial
revolution. Instead of ideal of beauty, these artists tried to paint out what they saw at a
given movement, capturing a fresh, original vision. They often painted in the outdoors
so that they could observenature more directly and set down it most fleeting aspects.

Advances in Science during the second industrial revolution has came out the uses of
Petroleum and Gasoline as a alternate energy source for the transportation. The steam
engine is replaced by the internal combusiton engine which consume petroleum and
gasoline. The internal combusion engine made the transportation moves faster and less
public. Thus, people are starting to own a car instead of using public transportation.
Besides that, the airplane industry was born due to the successfully ccompeletion of the
first airplane flight at kitty hawk by the Wright brothers (Orville wright and Wilbur
Wright).
The first airplane invented by the wright brothers.

Adverse effects that brought by the second industrial revolution to the social is such as
the dangerous working environment and dangerous machinery. With the electricity as
the source of energy for the function of production, the factory are now getting more
hazardous. Radioactivity and Electric shock might occur. Worker should be more
caution and also with a proper and safety attire for work.
The second industrial revolution however, brought adverse effects to the rest of the
world. A very good example that is the World War 1, England took control of India and
Hong Kong by the begining of the war. England had an empire which stretched across
every continent in the world with extracting vast amounts of natural resources from
these colonies. British industrial effort got aided but many nations have left bankrupt.
