Olivia Onion, Tommy Tomato, Betty Beetroot and Gary Gherkin all went to Vegetastic Primary School . They were the best of friends and did everything together.

On Monday Mr Potato told the class there was a new student from farmers Browns Farm. Her name was Ellie Eggplant. No one had ever heard of an eggplant before.

At lunchtime Ellie Eggplant tried to make friend with Olivia Onion, Tommy Tomato, Betty Beetroot and Gary Gherkin but they did not want to be her friend. They didn’t know what vegetable she was, they had never seen anyone like her before.

We don’t want to be your friend!

What is she?

Mr Potato told Olivia Onion, Tommy Tomato, Betty Beetroot and Gary Gherkin to be nice to Ellie Eggplant and be her friend.

So they decided that they would make friend with Ellie Eggplant to see if they liked her. They started to play with her at lunchtimes.

They ended up having lots of fun. They even decided to let Ellie Eggplant become a member of their special club.

Ellie eggplant takes Olivia Onion, Tommy Tomato, Betty Beetroot, Gary Gherkin home and shows them that she is just like them. She is also a healthy food and she grows from the land.

Olivia Onion, Tommy Tomato, Betty Beetroot, Gary Gherkin and Ellie Eggplant become best friends and play together everyday at school. They even go home on the school bus together.
