E mission test Boron treated MMDA - Toyota Tamaraw SED 942 Failed 9.9 k before dosage and 0.74 k after Boron treatment

Objective: Reduction of emissions in “Smoke belching” with use of Boron CLS Bond Technology.

Vehicle owner: MMDA, Health, Public Safety & Environmental Protection.

1. Toyota Tamaraw –

◦ Heavy smoke belching identified for Boron treatment◦ Plate No: SED 942◦ Boron treatment:

• Date of dosage - 25th May 2010• 400 ml oil drained from 4 Lt Oil sump• 400 ml Boron Engine Treatment added• Additional 50 ml Boron topped up, to meet “full mark” on dipstick.• Engine idled for 30 min for initiating cleansing/scavenging of carbon

and varnish deposits

◦ Servicing info: Last Engine oil and Oil filter changed Wednesday 7th July 10◦ Oil change:

▪ Topped up with fresh Engine Oil 4 Lt▪ Petron Rev X Truck line 15w/40

◦ Oil filter : Engine Oil filter changed along with oil change.

General observation: Extremely Heavy smoke belching

From the pool of vehicles at MMDA a very heavy “smoke belching” was identified to serve as a “worst case scenario.”

Emission check: An emission check - Smoke Opacity was carried out prior to Boron treatment at MMDA, Center, immediately after treatment and again after 2 months after dosage as follows:

1. 25th May 2010 – Emissions: Baseline figures2. 25th May 2010 – Emissions: Immediately after Boron treatment3. 16th July 2010 – Emissions: On completion of complete treatment after at least

2000 km or 2 months usage.

All the emissions check recorded, herewith were conducted by the MMDA, Anti-smoke Belching Task Force (ASBTF) Team under the supervision of Rey C Reginald, Head, Field Operations, ASBTF.

Equipment:

Protech Opax 2000 II used by the ASBU Field Operation Team was used for testing of smoke opacity tests. An average of 3 to 5 values were taken and recorded.

Engine treatment:

On 25th May 2010, Boron CLS Bond Technology product Motor Silk Engine Treatment (MSET) (400 ml) was added at a ratio of 10% of Engine Oil sump of 4.0 Lt. To create sufficient volume to add the Boron MSET, 400 ml of the engine oil was drained. 400 ml of Boron Engine treatment was added to the oil sump. To meet the 'full mark' on dipsticks and additional 50 ml of MSET was added. The engine was run on idle for 30 mins for the Boron CLS Bond Technology to form on the cylinder walls and start displacing carbon & varnish deposits. On completion of dosage an emissions check was carried and data recorded. The vehicle then released and allowed to operate.

The CLS Bond Technology swings into action immediately and within minutes of dosage begins to dislodge existing varnish and carbon deposits. This is manifest by increasing emissions noticeable immediately after dosage and culminates with a 'dramatic drop in emissions” after 2,000 km or 2 months of usage.

Emission test – Test results tabulated below:

Date Vehicle Plate number Average value Remarks

25th May 2010

Toyota Tamaraw Van SED 942

9.99 k9.99 k9.99 k

Base line figure, before Boron treatment. As the equipment can measure upto 9.99 k, the smoke belcher could have values as high as 20.00 k or may be more.

25th May 2010 Toyota Tamaraw Van SED 942

9.99 k9.99 k9.99k

Relatively, more black smoke noticable. Immediate increase due to cleansing & scavenging action of Boron Technology, however machine capability resulted in upper limit figures of 9.99k.

16th July 2010

Toyota Tamaraw Van SED 942

1.01 k0.75 k0.64 k0.71 k0.76 k0.74 k

Emissions test conducted after an Oil and Oil filter change approx 2 months after Boron treatment. During this 2 month period the scavanging action is largely complete and remenets would have been removed alongwith the oil change and oil filter change.

The dramatic drop in emissions from 9.99 k to 0.74 k is a direct result of Boron CLS Bond Technology at work.

Conclusions :

1. The low coefficient of friction imparted by Boron CLS Bond treatment provides super-lubricity that dramatically reduces friction and frictional heat. The resulting improved engine efficiency leads to a more complete combustion and consequently reduces emissions.

2. As the core technolgy of Boron CLS Bond, forms an impervious coating ( 80% hardness of diamond) on the metallic surface, it displaces older and existing layers of varnish, carbon, soot deposits etc.. The cleanup exits through the exhaust, this is manifest in the higher emissions for upto 2000 km of running after a Boron treatment.

3. Over the next 1000 km after dosage, the detergent and scavenging property swings into action, it displaces/removes varnish and older carbon and soot deposits.

4. This is clearly demonstrated in the emission reports generated for Toyota Tamaraw van.

5. To summarize, the action of Boron CLS Bond Technology:

Boron CLS Bond technology, triggers a scavenging action, dislodging and displacing the most stubborn carbon and varnish deposits, which exit through exhaust or are kept in suspension by the engine oil. The Boron treatment is complete with an Oil change (and Oil filter change) and about two months ( and around 2000 km later). The engine is throughly cleansed and emissions record a dramatic drop to 0.74 k.

For a “smoke belcher,” a vehicle, that failed emission test with a reading of 9.9 k, the Boron treatment is a harbinger of Clean and Green environment in the Philippines.
