Wide Range of English Language CoursesEMU now offers a wide-range of 4-week English language courses designed to suit all levels and interests. With its highly qualified and experienced staff, the university is also able to design and deliver courses to meet specific needs of groups. All courses are aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

English for General Purposes Courses: For students aged 14-17 wishing to improve their general level of English.

English for Undergraduate Study: For students aged 17 and above who need to develop academic English skills for study at the undergraduate level.

English for Postgraduate Study: For students wishing to develop their academic English skills to a high level for postgraduate study, research and publication.

English and Technology: This unique course is for students who would like to improve their language skills and technological skills at the same time. Students learn to make video and audio presentations, design their own websites and otherwise make full use of the of the Internet and computers in developing language skills.

English for International Exams: For students wanting or needing to upgrade their language qualifications, courses are available leading to internationally recognised qualifications with the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), City and Guilds and IELTS, with options on taking these exams during your stay in Cyprus.

Specialist English Courses: Specialist English courses are custom-designed for groups with specific language needs, for example, in the business, tourism and banking sector.

Extra Learning OpportunitiesApart from 3 hours of classroom tuition in morning in classes with a maximum of 15 students, additional opportunities are available, included in the tuition fee:

• 1 hour afternoon modular options, offering conversation practice, preparation for international exams, computer assisted language learning, learning English through film, and more.

• Interactive course website provides further material and resources for study once the classroom programme has finished.

Residential Teacher Education Courses at EMUFortunate enough to have the services of some extremely experienced, and highly qualified internationally accredited trainers, EMU is able to offer a variety of short teacher education courses for professionals to update their skills and reflect on their practice. A unique 1 week modular structure enables

teachers to follow shorter or longer sequences of study to suit their schedule.

Language Development Series: This series aims to improve English language skills for professional practice.

Creative Methodology Series: This series is for teachers to explore creative, enjoyable and effective ways of sharpening up their classroom practice.

Corpus, CLIL and Technology Series: This series ranges across the different uses of technology in and outside the classroom, and includes a module on Content-Language Integrated Learning, as well as the practical uses of corpus tools for teachers and learners.

CELTA: Periodically, the university also offers CELTA, the Cambridge ESOL Certificate in English Language Teaching.
