Happy New Year to all our Valued Clients

Wow didn’t the Christmas and New Year break go so fast, way too

fast, 2009 is now just a distant memory.

Here’s to a great 2010 !

Firstly, welcome to our new look newsletter, looks great doesn’t it,

we are trying a new format following fantastic feedback on our first

two newsletters late last year, so we’ve improved, added, tweaked

and come up with this……the Entice IN TOUCH Magazine, gotta ad-

mit, it is pretty cool, Isn’t it, well we think so, and sure you will too.

It is full of stuff that you will hopefully get something out of, a few

games, horoscopes and most importantly summer specials !

By definition, a resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit.

Resolutions are often linked to a lifestyle change that is interpreted as beneficial. These commit-ments tend to go into effect on new year’s day and remain until fulfilled, or abandoned.

Some of the most popular ones include:

Losing weight, getting fit, eating right, quitting smoking, reducing stress, getting organised, get-ting out of debt…

How come, year after year, millions of people all over the world swear over and over again they will stick to their resolutions, only to give them up, as

most people do, a few weeks later?

How can people abandon such important and beneficial goals they have set for themselves, so easily and quickly?

The answer is simple. The haven’t mastered the art of setting well formed outcomes.

Most people don’t know how to set goals. They like to daydream about what their lives would be like if things were different, they like to think about and talk to other people about ideas, things they would like to do,

things they should do…

These are not goals. They are just thoughts. In order for you to achieve your goals, you need to take consistent and focused action. And unless you follow the steps I am going to reveal now, you may find it extremely hard.

If you are serious about sticking to your resolutions this year, make sure you follow these goal setting strategies:

A well formed outcome needs to reflect your val-ues. Your values are your beliefs about what is most im-

portant to you in life. These provide inspiration, govern your levels of motivation, and guide every decision you make. They are the standards you live by.

If, for example, health and fitness is one of your values, then this will be imprinted in everything you do. You will behave in a way as to ensure you are healthy and fit, as you will not ac-cept your life any other way.

When you set goals that reflect these, you’ll want to start taking action right now, never mind waiting until the new year!

If your goals are long term, it is useful to break them down into smaller more attainable mini ob-

jectives, so you can realise your progress more easily, and get a sense of accomplishment that will in turn keep you motivated and focused.

If you have a few goals in different areas in life, avoid over-load and overwhelm by prioritising and concentrating on

those goals that are most important to you right now.

Tell people about your resolutions. Studies show that people who have a supporting family

and friends reach their objectives faster , and also live happier and longer lives! This is why support groups of all sorts have proven to be so popular and successful.

If your family and friends are not as supporting as you’d like them to be, finding like-minded people who share the same or similar goals will help you get what you want faster and more easily. And you’ll get to enjoy the process more too.

We are creatures of habit and often get stuck in particular behaviours that can seem impossible to

break, unless you know how to.

In order to build new effortless and lasting habits, you need to crush limiting beliefs, create new more resourceful ones, and attach these to your goals, together with a bucket load of emotion and some super effective goal setting tools.

Thinking that you will be able to do this relying solely on will power is a big mistake that will only bring you frustration and disappointment.

These tips can help you dream up an approach to this year’s celebration that is both meaningful and

economical.

Get creative when it comes to dinner. You really don’t have to spend $85 to $250 on a romantic dinner at a restaurant. Why not have a nice candlelit dinner

at home?

Enjoy a little ambiance. If you both really want to go out on the town together, you could have coffee or a drink and dessert at an expensive café or restau-

rant. This is a way to savour the atmosphere — and your date — without emptying your wallet.

Play hooky. OK, do NOT follow this tip if your job or your partner’s job is hanging in the balance. But if you’ve racked up some holiday time, or if your em-ployer allows you to take personal days from time to

time, why not see if you can take Friday, Feb. 12 or Monday, Feb. 15 off and turn Valentine's Day into a three-day weekend for the two of you?

See some live music. Check to see whether there are any enjoyable free concerts on Feb. 14.

Seek out some silence. Here’s a potential date idea if you’ve both been stressed out lately: You could wander through libraries and bookstores with coffee shops that encourage browsing. Rediscover pas-

sages you love from your favourite books, and enjoy the quiet.

Have low-cost fun with food on Feb. 14. You can pull out the cookie cutters and make heart-shaped cookies and even cut your lunch sandwiches into hearts. You also can make heart-shaped cupcakes by placing a marble inside each muffin tin on the

outside of the paper cupcake cup.

Give thoughtful gifts. Most people stick to the same general gift themes on Valentine’s Day: flowers, chocolates, cards, maybe a piece of jewellery. Can you think of something different that might mean a whole lot more — and maybe even cost a whole lot

less? This could include cakes, cookies or gift certificates for your services. The gift certificate idea might be just the ticket for you if you’re short on cash but high on love this Valentine’s Day. You could offer to run errands for your loved one, make a nice dinner, clean the house, repair the car or give a massage.

Reflect on that flower purchase. If you’re sure your special someone will be devastated without the gift of flowers, then you probably should get some. But once

again, you don’t have to follow the herd. Everyone opts for roses at this time of year, but there are plenty of other gor-geous and neglected (i.e., less expensive) flower varieties to choose from. And red isn’t your only option, either. You also could choose peach, pink or yellow. What’s more, if you place your flower order early, you stand to save as much as 15 per-cent on your purchase. And here’s another detail to consider: Does your partner love to garden and work in the yard? If so, a beautiful outdoor plant that will keep on living might be more

appropriate than cut flowers that will quickly fade.

Write down how you feel. Using a package of inex-pensive Valentines from the drug store or grocery store — or, for that matter, any kind of paper — you could write out dozens of reasons why you love your

mate. Leave the messages all over the house, in both notice- able and hidden-away places. This is a gift that

could keep on giving for weeks or months to come.

Plan ahead for next year. If Valentine’s Day is a holiday that matters to you and your significant other, make a mental note of how quickly it can sneak up on you after the big winter holidays in

December. Think about realistic ways you can cut back on your spending so you’ll be able to use cash to cover all of the 2008-09 holidays without relying on credit cards and going into debt. Can you cut back on costly coffee drinks, snacks and sodas during your work day? Or maybe put off some discretion-ary purchases you’ve been thinking about making?

tisers take note: Generation Y is

now in charge! Latest population

figures show that Generation Y

Aussies were neck and neck

with Generation X as at June.

The latest population figures

show that Generation Y rose by

over 158,000 in the past year to

4.67 million. Over the same pe-

riod, Generation X grew by al-

most 47,000 to 4.68 million with

Baby Boomer numbers falling by

almost 6,000 to 4.11 million.

Around three in every five Aus-

sies an be found in one of these

demographic groups.

The conventional wisdom is that

Australia’s population is ageing

with the assumption that more

senior Australians are tak-

ing charge. But strong mi-

gration and a gradual increase in

fertility over recent years are

working to change the mix. After

falling for the past 37 years, the

share of people aged below 30

actually rose in the past year.

Importantly, Generation Y has

been steadily taking a larger

share of the population over the

past six years. After starting be-

hind both Generation X and

Baby Boomers, Generation Y

would now clearly be in the top

spot. The implications are as

significant as they are obvious

court in the 1990s, but now the

twenty-somethings and thirty-

somethings dominate.

Generation Y has taken charge

in a dramatically short space of

buyers – now in decline. Baby

ents or renting. The key chal-

lenge for Generation Y will be in

the next five years where an in-

creasing proportion will be seek-

ing to move into home owner-

ship.

INGREDIENTS:

2 sprigs fresh mint

1 oz. simple syrup

3/4 oz. fresh lime juice

1-1/2 oz. Bacardi Silver rum

soda water

TOOLS:

mixing glass

Collins glass

citrus squeezer

muddler

shaker

strainer

METHOD:

Start with a sprig of mint in the bot-tom of a glass. Add 1 oz. simple syrup and 3/4 oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice and muddle the mixture. Add 1-

1/2 oz. Silver rum and shake well with ice. Strain over new ice in a Collins glass to remove the mud-dled mint pieces. Top it off with soda water and garnish with a mint sprig.

INGREDIENTS:

Servings: 2

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint

leaves

2 cups crushed ice

1/2 cup prepared lemonade

Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish

METHOD:

In a small saucepan, combine

the water, sugar and 1 table-

spoon of chopped mint. Stir and

bring to a boil. Cook until sugar

has dissolved, then remove from

heat and set aside to cool.

After about an hour, strain out

mint leaves.

Fill 2 cups or frozen goblets with

crushed ice. Pour 1/2 of the lem-

onade into each glass and top

with a splash of the sugar syrup.

Garnish each with a mint sprig

and a straw. Serve on a silver

platter.

Summer Hair Care

If you spend lots of time outdoors and want to spice up your look naturally, try an attractive sun-streaked look with highlights, talk to us about giving your hair

that summer, beach look.

Be sure to deep condition your hair at least once a week, especially if you swim a lot. Hair tends to be-come dry, dull and brittle if it is soaked and dried too

often. Our PPS products ……will help with that.

If you like to swim lengths, try spritzing on some leave-in conditioner under your swim cap to help ward off

damage from chlorine and salt water.

Summer skincare

It may be hip to be tanned, and it does tend to camouflage a multitude of imperfections, but don't deep-fry your skin for the sake of fashion. Your best bet is a high quality bronzer in a bottle. There are many on the market, but do some re-search first. Just remember to use a facial scrub prior to application to remove any dead skin cells. You may also want to use a pair of gloves, unless you like orange hands!

If you spend lots of time outside, be sure to use sunscreen with minimum SPF 40+. The cancer-preventing benefits are obvious, but protection is also a must for those of us who don't want to look old before time.

Make sure that you are adequately hydrated - at least 8 glasses of water a day and even more when you are outside.

If you do burn, apply Aloe Vera or lotions contain-ing it. This will cool and soothe your skin and help you to heal faster. A personal trick is to apply cream containing zinc to my face at night. This is an effective way of healing my burn by the morn-ing.

Nothing is more revolting than skin full of little red mosquito or bug bites, so don't forget the bug spray. You may want to try one of the new two-in-one sunscreen and insect repellents.

For a quick skin boost in the sun, fill a misting bot-tle with a little bit of toner and water, and spritz your face and body for a quick cool off. Just re-member to close your eyes!

Take on summer with a fresh face - less is best!

Accentuate your glowing skin by brushing on a light shimmering powder instead of a

heavy foundation. You don't want to appear like you are melting under the hot sun.

Bronzing powder is a great way to give yourself a pretty glow. Use a matte finish on your face and then a shimmer powder on eyelids, above cheekbones, and on shoulders and collarbone.

A hot look on a bronzed face is shiny lip gloss. It gives you ultra shine over lipstick

(applied with a brush) or on its own. Plus, it stays put - a big bonus for die-hard lip gloss wear-ers!

Try a light shimmering eye shadow in beige just under your brow bone to draw attention to

your eyes.

If you are wear mascara, try a waterproof. This way you will avoid "Raccoon Eyes" when

you are perspiring or near water. Don't forget the must-have partner, eye make-up remover, or else you really will end up with the dreaded dark circles!

Summer is here and that means that

there's no better time for your derrière to

be firm than now. The following tips and

tricks will keep you slim, trim and turning

heads the next time you bare all at the pool or

beach.

1. Eat healthy. You’ve

heard it once and

you’ll hear it a mil-

lion times. Cut out

the crap and start-

ing eating more

fruits and vegeta-

bles. If you want to

stay trim, you’ve

got to burn more

calories than you

eat – it’s not rocket

science – either work out more, or eat less.

2. Early to bed and early to rise. The average

adult needs about 7-8 hours of sleep every

night in order to function at full capacity. Note,

these numbers can fluctuate on an individual

basis. Getting the sufficient amount of sleep

will not only give you more energy during the

day, but it can keep you healthier than indi-

viduals whose sleep patterns are irregular. If

you need an extra jolt of energy come mid af-

3. Try a new exercise routine. All the rage

now is the 400-year-old Brazillian martial

arts called Capoeira (pronounced "cap-

5. Protect Your Skin. Drinking enough

water can only help your skin out so much.

It’s important to keep your skin properly

protected during the hot summer months.

Apply generous amounts of sunscreen

whenever you’ll be out in the sun (at least

SPF 15) and reapply often. Also, don’t for-

get lip balm with sunscreen to keep your

lips protected from the sun’s harmful rays.

6. Sunglasses and beach hats are a must.

Summer accessories are not only fashion-

able, but they’ll keep you looking younger

longer. Sunglasses will protect your eyes

from the sun’s damaging UV rays and a

beach hat will protect your face and will

keep your skin from aging sooner than

you’d like.

You don't need to starve yourself on a crazy fad diet if you want to look leaner and sexier in your shorts or swimsuit this summer. The secret to weight loss is to choose healthy foods and to take in fewer calories than you burn.

It's just easier to make better food choices in summer-time, when heavy, high-calorie dishes seem less ap-pealing. The best foods for weight loss in summer are light, refreshing and, most important, keep you out of the hot kitchen. It's just best to go fresh!

The single easiest way to trim calories from your sum-mer diet, experts say, is to load up on nature's perfect foods. Produce is at its peak in summer. Delicious fruits and vegetables abound at farmers' markets and in your local grocery. Besides high in nutrients like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre, these foods choices are also much lower in calories than traditional comfort foods.

Any in-season produce is sure to taste delicious and add flavour to your favourite dishes in abundance. You will find that including these amazingly tasty fresh treats will begin to shrink your belly fat and give you more energy throughout your days.

Oranges and apples can be eaten for fall, and load up on fresh berries, melons, greens, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, beets, pea pods, and all the super-nutritious and low-calorie fruits, greens and vegetables that grow in your garden.

Be sure to visit your local farmers market if you have one and support the local farming community. You will not only save a TON of money by doing this, but you will be contributing to local produce supply which means fresher fruits and vegetables for you next sea-son!

The fresher your choices are...the more your weight loss efforts will become apparent. All without using any extra crazy weight loss programs!

To keep your cool and cut your time in the kitchen, start with prepared produce, such as cut-up fruit and washed greens. Add rotisserie chicken, prepared soups, and pre-threaded kabobs when you need something a bit heartier. Pre-prepped foods may cost a little extra, but they save time in the kitchen.

Here are some great fat loss picks for some of the best foods to help with weight loss during the summer. Be sure to use your outdoor grill for a great change of taste!

No. 1: Chilled Soups

All kind of produce in cold soups are great low-calorie dishes. Chilled soups like gazpacho or cucumber-dill that contain lots of chunky vegetables are a great way to start a meal.

Research shows that a low-calorie, broth-based soup at the beginning of the meal will fill you so you eat less at the meal. This is a common trick that celebrities use to slim don quickly.

No. 2: Watermelon

Who doesn't love diving into a crisp, juicy slice of water-melon when it's hot outside? I know...crazy question.

Half of the watermelon comes from water. It's a wonderful way to satisfy thirst and a yen for something sweet. Be sure to choose organic produce sources for better tasting, healthier results. The biggest thing with fruit is to make sure that fruits are not genetically modified (GMO). They are usually higher in sugar.

No. 3: Grilled Veggies

A plate of grilled vegetables is a summertime must-have if you want to turn up those fat burning abilities. Keeping a plate of grilled onions, bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, egg-plant, asparagus, and garlic in your fridge is a great way to keep a healthy snack on hand whenever you need it.

No. 4: Salads

Salads are probably one of the best diet quick fixes avail-able. Including just 1-2 salads per day in your diet can be enough to start losing weight even if no other modifications are done to the diet. The key is that your diet must be done right!

To make a healthy salad give the produce a quick rinse; slice up some grilled chicken/beef, dice, toss fruits, vegeta-bles, nuts and seeds with some salad greens and a lemon and olive oil, light raspberry or ginger vinaigrette. The key is to avoid adding cheese or conventional dressings to your salad. They will ruin the fat burning properties of the salad.

Flavouring your salads with herbs from the garden so you can go light on the dressing is a good idea. When adding meats or fish to your salad you will find that the salad be-comes very filling and satisfying.

No. 5: Low- and No-Calorie Beverages

Sweetened coffee drinks, teas and go down so easily, es-pecially when it's hot outside. But the key is to use the herbal sweetener Stevia and avoid all processed sugar drinks and artificial sweeteners. Recent studies show that artificial sweeteners can be just as bad for your metabolism as sugar!

Beverages can be the sole reason for any summer time weight gain. So it's key to keep them in check by using wa-ter as your stable beverage of choice and only drinking sweeter drinks that you yourself have sweetened with your own Stevia packets.

Passionfruit slice Preparation Time 15 minutes

Cooking Time 20 minutes

Makes 12

Ingredients

Melted butter, to grease

150g (1 cup) self-raising flour

85g (1 cup) desiccated coconut

100g (1/2 cup) caster sugar

100g butter, melted

1 x 395g can sweetened condensed milk

125ml (1/2 cup) fresh lemon juice

2 tbs passionfruit pulp

Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush a 16 x 26cm (base measure-

ment) slab pan with melted butter to lightly grease. Line

the base and 2 long sides with non-

stick baking paper, allowing the sides to overhang.

Use a wooden spoon to combine the flour, coconut, sugar

and butter in a large bowl. Use your hands to bring the

dough together in the bowl.

Transfer to the prepared pan. Use a metal spoon to press

firmly over the base. Bake for 12 minutes or until light

golden. Set aside to cool.

Reduce oven temperature to 150°C.Use a balloon whisk to

whisk together the condensed milk, lemon juice and pas-

sionfruit pulp in a large bowl until

smooth and well combined. Pour into the pan and spread

evenly over the base. Bake in oven for 15 minutes until just

firm to the touch. Set aside to

cool completely. Cut into slices to serve.

Notes & tips

You will need about 2 fresh passionfruit for this recipe.

Aussie rissoles

Ingredients (serves 4)

400g lamb mince

125g can corn kernels, drained

125g rindless bacon, finely chopped

2 tablespoons tomato sauce

2 tablespoons barbecue sauce

2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives

potato wedges, caramelised onion, chopped chives and to-

mato sauce, to serve

Method

Combine mince, corn, bacon, tomato sauce, barbecue sauce,

chives, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Using clean hands,

shape mixture into four 2cm-

thick rissoles. Place on a plate.

Cook rissoles, in a large frying pan sprayed with oil, over me-

dium-high heat, for 3 to 5 minutes each side or until cooked

through.

Serve with potato wedges, onion, chives and tomato sauce.
