International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) 17th May The well-being of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans individuals can be seriously affected through homophobic discrimination. IDAHO exists to work towards ending homophobia.

International Youth Day
Falls on August 9th 2014 and is an awareness day designated by the United Nations in 1999. The purpose of the International Youth Day is to draw attention to a given set of cultural and legal issues surrounding the demographic. Concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings involving national and local government officials and youth organisations take place around the world in honor of International Youth Day.
International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition
23rd August is the United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition is annually observed on August 23rd to remind people of the tragedy of the transatlantic slave trade. It gives people a chance to think about the historic causes, the methods and the consequences of slave trade.

Many Jewish people in the United Kingdom (UK) celebrate Rosh Hashana (or Rosh Hashanah), which is also known as the Jewish New Year.
International Day of Peace
21st September is the United Nations' (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.
Navaratri
Navaratri (nine nights) is one of the greatest Hindu festivals. It symbolises the triumph of good over evil. Navaratri takes place round September/October around harvest time and, as the name implies, this festival is celebrated for nine days. Navaratri is also known as Durga Puja.
Autumn Equinox
For many Pagans, now is time to reflect on the past season. It is also a time to recognise that the balance of the year has changed, the wheel has turned and summer is now over. Astrologers will recognise this as the date the sun enters the sign of Libra - the Scales of Balance.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
The United Nations' (UN) International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women is an occasion for governments, international organisations and non-governmental organisations to raise public awareness of violence against women.
World Diabetes Day
World Diabetes Day is held on November 14th each year. The day aims to increase an awareness of the effects of diabetes and its complications amongst the general population and professionals in a range of sectors. It is also hoped that the increased awareness will lead to more resources to fight the causes of diabetes and help fund research into improved treatment options.

World AIDS Day1st December is the United Nations' (UN) World AIDS Day is held on December 1st each year to honour AIDS victims. It also focuses on issues surrounding HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). There are many health education campaigns that promote the day. Anti-discrimination activities are also launched on or around this date.
International Day for the Abolition of Slavery 2nd December 2014
The United Nations’ (UN) International Day for the Abolition of Slavery is annually observed on December 2nd to remind people that modern slavery works against human rights. This holiday is not to be confused with the UN’s International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.
