Having everyone in the same hotels has become an integral aspect of the European BaT events.
There is always a great atmosphere amongst the clients and staff and we want this to continue with
our Iberia trip. The social aspect is as much a part of our events as the track days, and something we
pride ourselves on. For us it’s not just about the track days, it’s about the experience and the trip as a
whole. Steered together by our common interest, it is the perfect opportunity to meet other people on
the trip. Review your laps of Jerez with like-minded people over dinner and drinks after a day at the
circuit. Our aim is to make everyone feel part of the team and to build a strong relationship from the
start. An added bonus of our hotel package is that it relieves you from the arduous task of searching
hotels for yourself, just leave it to us.
To further improve on the interaction and to encourage early friendships to form, we are hosting a
welcome reception meal at Hotel Cascais Miragem on the evening of Tuesday 5th September 2017 at
20:00 (this will be a buffet style dinner). At the end of the event, we will also be hosting a finale dinner at
the Barcelo Montecastillo Golf Club on Monday 11th September at 19:30, which will be a 3 course set
menu dinner this is included as part of the luxury hotel package.
For those of you who would like to take advantage of our hotel package, details of the hotels, facilities
and the full addresses can be found on the following pages. All luxury 5* hotels have been chosen for
their proximity to the circuit, facilities and availability of parking.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Please be aware that any extra meals, beverages, room service, parking, spa
treatments or additional sporting activities purchased at any of the hotels during your stay will be
charged per room and must be settled on departure.
IMPORTANT NOTE - All accommodation and car transport must be booked and paid in full by Friday
05 May 2017.
Please can all clients who book the organised hotel package complete the attached hotel registration
form and email to [email protected] no later than Friday 02 June, as this will speed up
the check-in process considerably.
We have a limited number of rooms available. We are aware that cheaper deals may be found by using
one of the online booking agents such as hotels.com, booking.com or expedia.com. Please note that the
accommodation is offered at cost at today’s exchange rate (BaT have pre-purchased the euros to
guarantee the rates). The rooms cannot be cancelled once confirmed, but we will endeavour to re-sell
them for you if you are subsequently unable to attend.

The resort offers extensive leisure facilities in the form of golf, tennis, pools and water sports. From the
beauty salon, health club, shops and boutiques there really is something for everyone in this award-winning
destination. The location of the resort is unique. It extends across 168 acres of naturally beautiful land set
above a stunning cliff top, beneath, lies an expanse of golden sand secluded beach and the deep blue water
of the Atlantic Ocean. The dark red of the sandstone cliffs contrasts sharply with the immaculate green of
the golf course above and the sparkling blue ocean below. This is one of the country’s most original golf
courses, built in a pinewood setting, with tree lined fairways running parallel along the Atlantic Ocean,
giving its guests breathtaking views along the Algarvian coastline. Architect Martin Hawtree’s main
concern was to keep the natural surroundings as it was before the course was built.

The Barcelo Montecastillo is the five star hotel, located next to the circuit.
Barcelo Montecastillo Golf Club, Av. de Montecastillo, Km. 6, 11406 Jerez de la
Frontera, Cádiz, Spain
The city of Jerez is only 15 minutes drive away from the Barcelo Montecastillo Golf Club and
is located 15 km inland from the beaches of the Costa de la Luz. Jerez is a city in southern
Spain's Andalusia region. It’s old quarter surrounds the Alcázar de Jerez, a Moorish
fortress founded in the 11th century. Jerez is the capital of Andalucian horse culture, stop
one on the famed sherry triangle and the cradle of Spanish flamenco making it an excellent
place to watch this great art. Best-known, and popular with locals and tourists, is Tabanco el
Pasaje where guitarist and singer face the cramped bustle from Thursdays to Sundays.
Another good option is Tabanco el Guitarrón de San Pedro with performances on Saturday
afternoons. It is a vibrant, chic modern city, where there are many cobbled alleys, plazas,
baroque churches, bars and fantastic tapas restaurants to make exploring old Jerez a joy.

Estoril Circuit

For more information visit:
http://www.circuito-estoril.pt/en/
The Estoril circuit was built in 1972, on a rocky plateau near the village of Alcabideche, 9 km from
the city of Estoril. The beach resort lends its name to the circuit, which has undergone numerous
transformations since then. After a massive upgrade programme in 1984, the circuit attained
international status. It was the home of the Formula One Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996.
Estoril is a circuit of huge contrasts, it has two hairpin turns, noticeable elevation changes, and a long
(986 metre) start/finish straight. The main straight is one of the longest in Moto GP, allowing for speeds
in excess of 310km/h, whilst the chicane is one of the slowest. It offers a unique configuration: a long
straight followed by a series of highly technical sequences. The contrast between the fast and slow sections
requires a versatile car, with a good top speed and agility through the series of fast bends. This challenging
layout along with the massive breaking zones all combine to make an exhilarating lap. Certainly a place to
mark off the track day list.
FacilitiesRestaurant - On site for lunch and snacks.
Garages - Are available to reserve for £100,
please book via our website. Platinum members
have free shared use of a garage.
Fuel - There is a fuel station in the paddock,
you can pay by cash or card. Limited operation

Portimao Circuit
For more information visit:
http://www.autodromodoalgarve.com/
Portimao circuit was built from scratch in just six months and opened in 2008. From the moment
you turn in the main entrance you can’t fail to be impressed with this no compromise state of the art
motorsport facility. There are 32 different possible layouts at Portimao circuit, with lengths ranging
from 3,465 m, the shortest version, to 4,684 m for the F1 version (the longest), making it suitable for
hosting all types of automobile and motorcycling world championships at the highest level of competition.
The different combinations of layouts allow users to choose between the faster, challenging versions or
the twisty, more technical versions. Given the various layouts of the track, we consider the FIA Slow Fast
(F1) version to be the standard version.
This circuit has a high-speed roller coaster style layout, like no other. It is an amazing technical race
track with many elevation changes and blind crests with good opportunities to overtake because of the
circuit width. This circuit, much like the old school circuits and needs respect, but once you get the hang
of the blind crests and tricky cambers it’s somewhere you can really let yourself go.
FacilitiesRestaurant - There is a self service restaurant
open all day for drinks and snacks and buffet lunch
Garages - Are available to reserve for £100,
please book via our website. Platinum members
have free shared use of a garage.
Fuel - 98ron on site but you pay for it in advance
for the estimated amount of litres and you get a
card from the circuit to use each time to refuel.

Circuito de Jerez is one of the most attractive tracks for both motorbikes and cars. Formula One
teams have had Jerez as their home testing circuit for many years, which backs up the quality of the
facilities.
For the motorbike riders Jerez is, together with Assen, the reference. Its 13 curves give plenty of
possibilities when tuning up the machines. Its 4.423 m of length (4.428m with chicane) houses a
variety of low, medium and fast speed curves, technically ideal to work the mechanics in-depth, as
recognised by the top motor racing teams, who have made the circuit an international reference
point for testing along the year, particularly in the pre-season.
IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have valid health insurance to
participate in any driving activities on this track. Please read
the yellow note box on page 18 for more information.

Additional Track Day Information
Tyre changing facilities are available at all venues. We strongly recommend that you inform us if you
require any work during this trip. If you want your wheels swapping at the end of the day please ensure
you have arranged a time slot with our mechanics. We are also able to perform some mechanical tasks
including changing of brake pads and car fluids. Please note that we do not carry spares with us so you
will need to provide these. Again time slots will need to be arranged with our staff. All of the above
services are chargeable.

Food & Drink
Garages are available for reservation on each day for £100 per garage. If you would like to reserve a
garage please do this prior to the event. You can edit your booking to add one if needed. Platinum members
have shared use of a garage as part of their membership package.
Professional Grade ‘A’ ARDS instructors will be present at all track days. All our instructors travel from the
UK and know the circuits well. Instruction is recommended to all participants who have not been to the
venues before as it not only familiarises you with the circuit, but also offers you hints and tips to improve your
track driving. Instruction sessions are available from just £50 each and can be booked online to secure your
time slot and preferred instructor.
All three circuits have exclusive catering rights, meaning we are unable to provide soup and sandwiches,
however we will still be offering our usual complimentary hot and cold drink service as we would normally
on our European events. Please accept our apologies for this – food will be available from the on-site café.
Details of fuel provision are with the circuit information. This will be confirmed in our final instructions for
the event. Please note it may not be possible to purchase fuel on-site with a credit card. Therefore we
recommend you have Euro cash to pay for on-site fuel.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Jerez Circuit - Proof of health InsuranceThe local hospitals to Jerez do not recognise the European Health Insurance Card as a valid payment
method for health care when participating in activities at the circuit, therefore all participants are
required to send in a photocopy of their valid health insurance to [email protected] as
well as bringing the documents with you to the event. We will send out a reminder near to the time
of the event but the sooner we receive a copy the better.
BaT Professional Photography & Car Transportation
There will be a professional motorsport photographer in attendance taking pictures of all participants
from various points around the circuits. These will be available to view/buy on-site and via our website
when we return to the UK. Please remember to tape-up (or take off) your number plate if you don’t
want to be spotted at the circuit – as all images are uploaded to our website unedited.

For your convenience, we offer a car transportation service whereby your car is
taken fully insured by a covered car transporter from the UK to all three circuits
and finally back to the UK. Several trucks will be departing from Donington Park
Circuit on Thursday 31st August. If you intend to book ‘Bring my Car’, please note
your car must be dropped off at our workshop the week before the truck departs.
Exact pricing will depend on the size and weight of your car, as well as any
wheels/tyres and tools that need to be carried. Prices start at £1295 for a
Caterham-sized car (up to 3 metres) with luggage inside the cockpit, up to £1495
for larger cars with a separate set of wheels & tyres.
European clients can have their cars transported too but unfortunately the price
is the same as travelling from the UK.

Caterham Academy
Caterham 620RThe new Caterham 620R features a wide range of performance enhancements that will see it surpass
the R300's legendary status and then some. Words can only help so much with describing what a
supercharged 310bhp Caterham with a power to weight ratio knocking on the door of 600hp per
tonne is like to drive. This machine is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
Caterham Hire Costs
Caterham 310R SV
Caterham 360R
Caterham 420R
The Caterham Academy is ideal for those new to driving a Caterham or indeed to circuit driving. With a
Ford Sigma 1.6 engine and 125bhp mounted to a five speed gearbox, it gives an idea of the thrill you can
have behind the wheel of a Caterham. With the hire of the Academy car we also offer your own exclusive
instructor all day included as part of the car hire package so you will make the most out of your day
learning how to handle the car, the circuit layout and circuit driving techniques.
The 310R was new to Caterham in 2016 and came as an upgrade to the Caterham 270. Jumping from
135bhp to 152bhp, the 1.6 Ford Sigma engine carries the power superbly. The only SV in our range, the
longer, wider chassis of the 310R makes it ideal for taller, broader drivers, adding a bit of comfort to your
track day experience.
The lightweight 360R sits perfectly balanced in the middle of the Caterham range. Normally suitable for
either road or race performance, the R pack on our 360 transfers it perfectly into a spectacular track car.
Powered by the same 2.0 litre Duratec engine that propels the R300 race cars, the 360R houses its
180bhp as perfectly as the R300.
The 420R is the penultimate machine in the Caterham line up. Again powered by the familiar 2.0 litre
Duratec engine, it boasts an incredible 210bhp. In keeping with Colin Chapman’s ‘less weight more power’
ethos, the 420R is as lightweight as they come and is guaranteed to deliver pure thrills lap after lap.
Overtake on the straights only, not under braking and not round corners.
Safety Briefing & Summary
Overtaking Rules
No hand-held cameras are allowed. All cameras must be securely mounted.
General Notes
Know Your FlagsYELLOW - Used when a car, debris or other object is causing a hazard on the circuit
(often a car spinning), and this hazard can be removed quickly with minimal disruption
and in complete safety. Please slow down and be in complete control of the car.
Overtake on the LEFT hand side only.
Overtake BY CONSENT ONLY. This means the car in front must have clearly indicated and pulled
over to the right before any overtaking manoeuvre can be made. If the car in front is not indicating,
assume they have not seen you.
Powerful cars are expected to lift off the throttle on the straights to allow the less powerful cars to
pass before the braking zone.
If these rules are obeyed, then car-to-car contact is impossible and the only element of danger is your
own driving.
Finally, remember to do a cool down lap each time before you return to the pits and
avoid using the hand brake when parked up.
Slick tyres are not permitted without adequate roll-over protection.
Please ensure you have your towing-eye fitted before venturing out on track.
All participants must have covered arms and legs when out on track.
All drivers must have a full road licence (race licence is not a valid substitute).
Strictly no timing.
No passengers under 16 years are allowed out on track or in the pit lane. Passengers between 16 and 18
years old must have a parent / guardian on-site at all times and they must counter sign their disclaimer.
RED - This is shown when the session must end due to a hazard that cannot be
removed quickly and safely. Please return to the pits very slowly.
BLUE - Used to show a participant that there is a faster car approaching.
Participants must indicate and move over to the appropriate side of the track
on the next available straight.
BLACK - To be used when a participant is driving discourteously or has
a mechanical problem with their vehicle. Participants must come
straight into the pit lane for an explanation.
CHEQUERED - Used to indicate the end of the session.
Only shown twice (once before lunch and once at the end
of the day).
