Europe Class Update
The highlight of last half term has to be our visit to Warner Brothers Studios. We all
had an amazing time and the children were a pleasure to be with. As Mrs Slater
remarked. “There is nothing more rewarding than seeing every child beaming from
ear to ear with awe and wonder.” The looks on their faces and their reactions were
priceless—a memory that will last forever!
On Monday, we were transported back to 1939, as we gathered round the wireless
to listen to an important announcement from the prime minister—Britain is at
war with Germany. We then spent the morning preparing for war by making
identity cards and gas masks. The children are already engaged and enthused by

WCET Music Festival
On Tuesday 18th June, the children will be participating in the KS2 Whole Class
Ensemble Music Celebration Event at The Apex. We will be leaving school just
after 9am and travelling to The Apex by coach. Rehearsals will take place
throughout the morning and after lunch the children will be doing two
performances.
On the day, children will need to arrive at school promptly for 9am. They will
need to wear school uniform and bring with them their flute and a packed lunch,
including plenty to drink (no fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate). If you require a
school packed lunch please let the office know asap.
Tickets are available to watch the performance. We have been allocated tickets
for the 2pm performance, which will be restricted to one per child. Please state
on the reply slip if you require a ticket. Audience members are asked to arrive by
1:50pm.
The event is due to finish at 2:45pm, please can you state on the slip if you will
be collecting your child from the venue or from school on their return. If you have
any questions please pop in and see me.
Every week, children will have a grid, like
this, in their home learning books, which sets
out home learning tasks for the week. In
addition, they will be expected to complete a
project linked to our topic (see the home
learning challenges for ideas). Projects should
be brought in on Thursday 4th July. Parents
are then invited in after school, to travel the
world and view the home learning across the
school.
