Knowledge alliance project
The purpose of Knowledge Alliances is to strengthenEurope’s innovation capacity by fosteringinnovation in higher education via balanced, two-way knowledge exchange with enterprises andacross the broader socio-economic environment.
• A key feature is that it should be equally driven byenterprises as HEIs, therefore (some of) theoutputs/deliverables should also be linked to theneeds of the enterprises.
• The target groups are not onlyacademics/researchers and students, but alsocompany staff, in addition to a wider audience.
For each statement below, ask yourself: Would the keymanagers in my company consider this statement to beTrue or False? Mark your response
Question True False
Everyone will have to work faster, harder, & longer hours, in order to get jobs
done in less time
08 34
To get jobs out fast, we must keep our machines and people busy all the time 23 19
In order to reduce our lead times, we have to improve our efficiencies 30 12
We must place importance on "on-time" delivery perf by each of our depts,
and by our suppliers
29 11
Installing a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) System will help in reducing
lead times
34 08
Long lead items need to be ordered in large qty,we should neg qty discounts
with our suppliers
14 28
Question True False
Encourage our customers to buy our prod in large qty by offering price breaks
and qty discount
10 32
We can implement QRM by forming teams in each department 18 24
The reason for implementing QRM is so that we can charge our customers
