The information for essay competition was disseminated to different schools and universities through poster, flyer, facebook page and twitter.
25 essays were submitted by the students of different schools and universities on the topic above.
After through scrutiny by the external reviewer, four competitors were selected for award.
On July 21st 2016, Bandhu Social Welfare Society organized an Award Ceremony for the Essay competition at its head office, Dhaka. All participants were also appreciated with certificate and souvenir.
The related education on SRHR are yet to gain due momentum in Bangladesh. People still continue to attach social, cultural and religious stigma with the SRHR issues.
Understanding these gaps, Bandhu with support from Asia-Pacific Resource and Research Centre for Women (ARROW) initiated the Essay Competition.
The idea was that with this approach, adolescent and young students of school, college and university will have the adequate and correct information and scope to learn SRHR issues in an edutainment environment for their knowledge enhancement.
This was the first initiative and in future, Bandhu will organize more such essay competitions for knowledge enhancement on SRHR.
