THE PHONE SHOTThis shot taken from house of cards shows a more complex way to convey what is being said on a text message showing them next to the phone.

This is a shot taken from our piece which shows the text from the attackers it was a clear sign that max is the protagonist and the film is based around him. It shows the phone with a text and it is the only shot in the camera helping the audience to focus on it more

SIMILAR TITLESHere are other examples of titles similar to ours with a blank background and text All these titles also share the genre of our piece, (thriller) this is a dark scheme which stands out

SIMILAR SHOTOur main establishing shot shows Max the main character and the other band members. Early on it shows the audience the location and their surroundings.

A similar shot is from a film called School of Rock in their rehearsal room a slightly different setting but it helps to establish what is happening and their location the same as our shot

Adam is hiding behind max waiting to pounce on him this shows his venerability giving the shot dramatic irony. This builds the tension.

This pan sequence related to ‘student impact’ however max doesn't fight back they bot create irony for the audience

SIMILAR ROVING SHOTS

This shot taken moving around the kit is almost pov level and pushes the 180 degree rule to its limit and provides a contrast

The drummer from young drummer of the year award this captures the energy of the drummer at a higher angle

This shot of Alfie and his guitar using a close-up the low level shot highlights Alfies relaxed playing style

This relates to a guitarist in one of their independent music videos this helps to highlight the guitarist in the music and we associate the style of music with the guitar i.e. Alfie electric guitar

Close ups are important as the audience can then gain an understanding from the characters facial expressions this shot of Max helps to make the vocals look real as well as his enjoyment in the moment.

This is similar to lead singer of Pandora fox in their video for bird on a wire this close up shows the passion and aggressiveness in the gritty rocky music

Also to show the protagonist as much as possible is important so the audience are able to visualize him also it adheres to music video stero-types because the lead would be shown the most

As shown by ed sheeran in his acoustic video for thinking out loud this helps to bring out the emotion as we are meant to side with the protagonist and follow their story

The final shot is the most important of all it is the dramatic ending and has to be the clearest shot in terms of idea so the audience are able to understand what has happened because we don’t show the full attack it also creates irony with adam approaching from behind

The film above the law is similar with a bat and a clear attack scene however there is no dramatic irony because the victim is not oblivious to what is happening
