DHT: CHOO CHOO CHASING TRAINSAs Denver reached from its original core in every direction, folks yearned for a quicker and more convenient way to reach far-flung destinations. In the early 1870s, streetcars arrived to get them there. Once one of the largest streetcar systems in the entire country, the Metro area’s impressive rail-based public transit system vanished in the early 1950s. Now it’s time to explore what we’re putting back in place. Though it will never be as big as it once was, it’s still something many cities envy. Join Denver History Tours as we tour the Elati Light Rail Facility to learn about how these commuter trains work. From there, we’ll take the train to the airport to see how it works. Along the way, we’ll learn about how the transit is changing the world around us. So, if you’ve got your fare and just a trifle to spare, this is the tour for you! Pardon me, Sir!
