From the President……

I hope everyone enjoyed “The Holidays.” At our Dec 5th Christmas party we collected $189 which our club matched for a donation to Akron Pregnancy Services.

Your 2016 Tiretown Officers President – Tom Geul Vice-President – Gail Moore Secretary – Bonnie Smith Treasurer – Peg Quine Membership – Diana Bray Governor - Alan Moore Social – Frank Smith Sunshine – Barb Ruman Fast Glass Editor - Elaine Heretta

Tiretown has an exciting year ahead. In 2016 TTCC will again be hosting 2 Peoples Choice Car Shows on May 15th at Serpentini Tallmadge and September 24th at Serpentini Orrville. For the first time in many years Tiretown will host 5 Rallys on July 10th. Our Speed event for this year has not been scheduled because an autocross location has not been secured.

This is also a good time for you as club members to think about what ‘Membership’ in Tiretown means to you and do you want to fully participate. Frank and Bonnie Smith worked very hard in 2015 to create social events for members. Attendance at those 2015 events was “good” but I am sure we can do better in 2016. Please let us know what activities you would like for 2016.

Reminders: Tiretown Club Banquet is January 30th at The Venue In Tallmadge New 2016 Directories will be available at the Banquet Tiretown Club Meeting @ Serpentini Tallmadge @ 7:30 PM – February 1 East Ohio Region Banquet – March 5 @ Best Western in Wooster

Look forward to seeing you at the Banquet on January 30th.

Vice President’s Report

Alan and I have been busy working on the Banquet for this year. Hope many of you will attend and have a great time! Our events for this year for East Ohio are pretty much set, beginning with April 17 (Corvette Canton/Buckeye) Seven Car Shows, and ending October 1 with one car show by MidOhio. We are scheduled for 5 car shows at Serpentini Chevy in Tallmadge on May 15, 5 car shows at Serpentini in Orrville on September 24 and 5 rallyes on July 19 (Fun Center events that we will host). These are spaced a lot better than last years events. We are looking into the possibility of 5 low speed events to be held later in the summer. Will keep you posted!

Gail

G O V E R N O R ! ! !

Only news from the Region is about the March 5, 2016 Regional Banquet. See the flier in this newsletter. Hope to see some of our members at the Banquet as we are receiving four Team 200 awards and seven Worker Award shirts.

TTCC donated $800 so that Montrose Ford could give a new truck to a combat wounded veteran. In an article in the Akron Beacon Journal dated January 9, 2016:

“Montrose Ford in Fairlawn gave a new Ford F150 XLT Super Crew to Joshua Sust, 28 from Cincinnati, a retired Marine who lost his left foot in Afghanistan. Montrose raised $37,000 last year in their fundraisers and donations with the money going to “Wounded Warriors Family Support’s Mobility is Freedom” program. Montrose raised the most money of any participated dealership in the United States, more than that of any other Ford dealership.”

In mid-December, GM filed paperwork with the United States Patent and Trademark Office to Trademark the name “E-Ray” and “Corvette E-Ray.”
