WELCOME & INDEX

A very warm welcome to our first brochure of 2020After a fantastic run with our pantomime, I’m sure you will be pleased to know that tickets are already on sale for this year’s spectacular production of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. Remember, it is never too early to get your favourite seats sorted.

Children’s shows are always popular here in Radlett and in this season we have some great ones. These include Room on the Broom, Sarah & Duck, Bubble Man, Peppa Pig, Zog and a new adaptation of the classic Rapunzel.

If you are a fan of music, Hermans Hermits make a first appearance here as does the “Voice of the Osmonds”, Merrill Osmond. Clare Teal takes a break from her popular Radio 2 show to join us. And we have tributes to Meat Loaf, Adele, Neil Diamond, Simply Red and the Moody Blues.

If comedy is your bag, the unpredictable Jim Davidson and Simon Brodkin return, so expect anything. We also have first appearances by Alistair McGowan, Mark Thomas and Clive Anderson.

If you would like to comment on any aspect of our service or programme, please do not hesitate to contact me on [email protected]

‘JEWISH HOLLYWOOD’ is a revue crammed

full of songs that explores the reality as well as the glitz!

It tells stories of ambition and sacrifice. What was the price paid for assimilation? How did the Jews of Hollywood confront anti-Semitism? How did the Holocaust change their depiction of Jews onscreen? How badly hit were they by the notorious blacklisting of the 1950s?

And what caused the rebirth of Jewish cinema in the 1960s – giving rise to stars like Barbra Streisand, Woody Allen and Bette Midler?

Apthorp Gallery Jayne Hayley is a local artist who primarily paints abstract designs. She uses acrylics and various other mediums to create stunning compositions on ceramic tiles. Her designs come from her unique mixing of colours and shapes. No two pieces are the same.

Apthorp Gallery Erik Cheek I am an amateur photographer of about 12 years experience. I photograph what I find of interest. In this digital age

photographs often lay on a photographers computer and are transiently shared on social media. My view is that photographs are best displayed in print.
