It is our pleasure to invite you to the Winter Battle XV Championships on February 9, 2019, in Locust Grove, GA at Luella High School. Last year’s 14th annual event was the best event yet and we look for greater all around expansion for this year’s event. The tournament fees shall be as follows: $65: through January 13 --- $75: January 14 - February 3 --- $85 February 4 -6 Registration at the door will be $125 – CASH ONLY!

**Brown-Red-Black Belts must have Daedo socks for Daedo Gen2 E-Hogus and can be bought at the event.**

Please note that this event will determine competitor ages by year of birth (the same as WT, USAT, and AAU). Competitors born on any date during 2001 will

compete as 18-year-olds at this event.

Go to www.register4tkd.com to register online. There will be no forms (poomsae) competition at the Winter Battle.

The venue is a large gym with ample seating. The competition floor will feature MATTED RINGS and

ELECTRONIC SCORING with /TRUESCORE Gen2 E-HOGUS FOR ALL World Class Black Belts and Gen1 for all other BROWN-RED-BLACK BELTS along with plenty of room for warming up. Each player’s first fight will be matched as close as possible. Players from the same school will be placed on opposite ends of the roster to lessen the chance of fighting each other until gold medal match. The fighting will be done in a double elimination format. Divisions may be merged to ensure at least 4 competitors. Therefore, we plan to have high caliber competition in all divisions.

In the last fourteen years, the Winter Battle has welcomed players from over 75 teams coming from GA, TN, AL, NC, SC, KY, and FL! Many competitors have fought 4, 5, and even 6 times! This tournament is designed to gain valuable ring experience while giving you your money’s worth for competing.

The current Cadet, Junior, and Senior National Team members of USAT and AAU are invited to compete FREE OF CHARGE!

All Adult Black Belts, and Coaches should attend the Coach meeting held at 8:30am. Each team will be issued one (1) FREE Coach’s Pass. Additional Coach’s Passes will be $15.00. Equipment will be sold at the tournament site that will have uniforms, belts, and sparring equipment. All players are to have their own equipment except for the Daedo e-Hogus.

The coordinators of this tournament have planned and worked many hours to make this a successful and memorable event. Officials will do their best to promote fairness and a politics-free environment for all players and all schools. Sportsmanship is to be displayed by all players and coaches at all times during the course of competition.

Spectators (cash at door): $5.00 (7-under FREE)

All players must wear headgear (White or Red and Blue to match the hogu), Olympic chest protector w/red and blue scoring areas, forearm pads, shin/instep protection, WT gloves (Black Belts), mouthpiece, and groin guard.

Uniforms may be any color.

• Head contact will be allowed for all divisions: 15+ Black Belts and 18+ Color Belts are allowed full contact; all other divisions will be light contact.

• The most recent WT rules will apply: 1 point for punches to the body; 2 points for kicks to the body; 3 points for spinning kick to the body; 3 points for kicks to the head; and 4 points for spinning kicks to the head (full contact divisions only). 10 gamjeongs for disqualification. Point gap at 20 points difference.

• All versions of Daedo socks (Gen1 or Gen2) will be allowed for Red and Black Belts.

• COACHES INFO – FREE Coach Pass(es) to each school (contact Master Bradley or Wilch for more information). Additional Coach’s Passes are available for $15.00 at www.register4tkd.com or at the door. You will receive Coach’s Credentials at the event. Coaches are encouraged to wear professional attire.

• Pictures and videotaping is freely permitted and Team/School banners are encouraged.

You do NOT have to arrive until your staging time. Blue Belts-under may choose to fight in either their own division or the Daedo division, but NOT BOTH. 15-17 Black Belts may choose to fight in BOTH 18-32 and 15-17 for $10.00 extra.

SANDBAGGERS BEWARE!!! Results are kept from past Winter Battle tournaments. If you won your division in a previous year, you MUST be moved up at least one belt OR age division in the 2018 Winter Battle.

For example, if an 8-year-old competitor won as a Blue Belt in 2017, they will need to move up in age or belt division.
