Public Lecture with Dr. Deen LarsenJustinus Kerner & Robert Schumann: Songs of the Soul’s Solitude
The famed composer wrote about the poet Justinus Kerner in his diary: Kerner’s poems which attracted me most of all through their mysterious unearthly power that is so often found in the poetry of Goethe and Jean Paul, gave me the idea of trying my weak strengths for the first time, as in these [poems] each word is an ethereal sound already which only needs to be fixed by notes.
