FLL 1 - FIRST LEGO League - STEM CampThis one week camp is for rising 4th and 5th graders. Students (in groups of 3) will build an autonomous robot to carry out pre-designed missions in an obstacle course. Students will design and build a competitive Lego robot that will operate with a variety of mechanisms and autonomous programs as well as activities with NOVA Faculty. Students will learn project management in a team setting, how to build with the Lego NXT system, and basic programming of the NXT. The camp will end in a competition on Friday.

Times: 1-Week, M - F, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, bring bag lunch M-Thurs, competition and pizza on Friday. Dates: July 8 - July 19 (Two camps; Loudoun campus) July 22- August 2 (Two camps; Tuscarora High School, Leesburg VA)

VEX 1 - STEM CampThis one week camp is for rising 6th-12th graders. This introductory course teaches students the fundamentals of the VEX Robotics Design System. Students will work in groups of four to complete two challenges during the week. - Challenge 1: Students will learn to build a robot from a set of instructions, program a remote control to operate their robot, and successfully drive the robot through a maze while manipulating game objects. - Challenge 2: Students will learn to write a computer program that will autonomously guide a robot through a virtual obstacle course. Students will learn the fundamentals of writing a program, basic motor setup and movement, sensor feedback, and variable integration.

Times: 1-Week, M - F, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm, bring bag lunch M-Thurs, competition and pizza on Friday. Dates: July 8 - July 19 (Two camps; Loudoun campus) July 22 - August 2(Two camps; Tuscarora High School, Leesburg VA)
