Application: Theoverfilldetectionsystemusedonpetroleumcargotankstypicallyconsistsofasensormountedineachtankcompartment,anonboardmonitorlocatednearthebottomloadingvalvesandanAPIcompatiblesocket.Theoverfillsystemisintendedtodetectapendingoverfillconditioninsidethecargotankcompartmentandsignaltheloadingracktoclosethefuelsupplycontrolvalve,topreventaspillofproduct.Thesesystemsarerequiredbylawaspartofthebottomloadingsystemandconsideredasecondaryemergencyshutoffdevice.Theoverfillsystemistypicallytriggeredwhentheprimarymeteringsystemfailstoloadthecargotankcompartmentwiththecorrectvolumeofproduct.
