Dear Parents,

It is our desire at St. Mary’s School to stay on the cutting edge of educa-tion and provide our students with experiences which will enhance their abilities to reach their optimal level of achievement. In class 3 we are trial-ling something called ‘Class Dojo’ points. This is a new educational system that creates a positive mind-set within the classroom. It encourages im-portant skills like working hard and participation.

How does it work?

The children all have their own online character/avatar and throughout the week points are awarded for different tasks linked to their achieve-ments, but they can also be taken off. In Class 3 the aim is to have the most dojo points by the end of the week.

All the children are reacting very positively to this, but I do want to reiter-ate that this does not replace the gold behaviour system that we have in school. The Going for Gold system is still in place for the children’s beha-viour and it is still their aim to get onto Gold by the end of the week.
