· Body composition is a measurement of a person’s fat mass and fat free mass (lean mass).

BMI is a common method of measuring body composition as it is fat and easy. Although not the most accurate, it can still provide some beneficial information.

Body composition changes with age…

Fat mass generally increases, and muscle mass decreases with age. This means you are at a higher risk of becoming obese. However, it does not mean you will become obese. You can control whether you do or not.
