Time to dig out those unfinished projects... The time has come for us to be thinking about the end of one year and the beginning of thenext one. I’ve learned that setting a resolution to not start a new project until all the old ones are fin-ished sets me up for failure, but instead to strive towards finishing more projects than starting. Thisseems to be a more reasonable resolution that I’m capable of keeping. What New Year resolutions doyou think you will set for the upcoming year?

EVENTS Join us during the month of December for several special events. We will be sharing freshhomemade cookies and hot cider on every Saturday as we’ve done the past few years. Each Saturdaywill feature a different cookie, so be sure to see what the new treat will be each week. Then startingon December 20th and running through December 31st, we will have 3 special sales going on. Firstoff, pre-cut fat quarters will be specially priced at $2.25 for regular cotton screen prints and $3 forflannel and batik fat quarters (the buy 10 get one free will not apply during this event). All remainingChristmas fabric will be 20% off during this time. Lastly, we will have selected bolts of fabric markedwith a yellow sticker for $8 a yard. In January, we will be hosting our “Bring a Friend” event. When you come in with at least onefriend and for each person who spends at least $20 in regularly priced merchandise, you will receivea coupon for a free child’s size ice cream or cup of coffee at Face Rock Creamery. We will also begiving out FMK Bucks during January. Earn one FMK Buck for every $5 spent. We will have aspecial “store” available from February 21st through March 6th where you can use your accumulatedFMK Bucks to purchase items from this special store. We will once again be doing our UFO Challenge this year. We have found that this challengeis very effective in helping people to finish up projects that have been gathering dust. Sometimes youneed a deadline and a reason to finish up some of these projects. The rules remain the same: Toqualify, the project has to be a least partially cut out but not have the binding completely sewn downor somewhere between. Your projects must be registered at the store between January 2 - 31 bybringing in at least parts of them. You will have until September 20th to finish them and bring themin for our annual quilt show September 22nd & 23rd. For every completed quilt turned in to our quiltshow, you will receive one entry in a random drawing for a 2 night stay for you and two friends inour upstairs retreat center. Last year we had over 90 quilts that were completed on off people’s to dolist. Congratulations to everyone who finished their projects! Quilt Run 101 will be back again February 10th through 20th. Each shop will be giving out afree copy of their individually designed pattern along with their stamp in your passport. Collect 5stamps and be eligible to win one of 13 $25 gift certificates. Collect 9 stamps to be eligible to win one

29% on the 29th*Join us for a year long anniversary celebration

in 2017 and take 29% off on one regularly priceditem on the 29th day of each month.

*starting January 29, 2017

of the $25 gift certificates as well as oneof 13 $50 gift certificates. Visit all 13shops and you could win a sewingmachine or one of 13 $100, $50 or $25gift certificates. If you visit all 13 shopsand purchase the special fat quarterfrom each shop and put together a wallhanging sized quilt, you could winanother small sewing machine in thisseparate contest.

Upcoming Quilt Shows

We’re in the quiet part of the year where quilt shows haven’t really gotten started yet, butmark your calendar for March 16th - 18th for the annual Quilt, Craft & Sew Expo at the Cal ExpoCenter in Sacramento, California. This is a great chance for those in Northern California to see meand lots of other great vendors all in one space. This expo is not a quilt show, but does offer a varietyof short classes on site every day.

Other Important Items

Don’t forget that gift certificates make great gifts for the upcoming holidays. Be sure to tellyour loved one that we offer gift cards in any amount and we’re happy to take orders over the phoneand to mail the gift card to the lucky recipient. We will be closed December 24th, 25th and January 1st to spend the holidays with ourfamilies, but will be open regular hours on Martin Luther King’s Birthday, January 16th andPresident’s Day, February 20th.
